Questions & Answers
I turned on the radio right out of the box, before charging, and my local weather forecast was loud and clear. After testing other radios that couldn't even pick up the WB, I was pleasantly surprised. The crank is sturdy and performs well when charged. Obviously, neither the crank nor the solar are as efficient as the USB, but they do the job.

I was unsure about this radio because I couldn't test it before purchasing it, but it works perfectly. When cranking, it can be a workout if you do it for a long time, but once it's ready, you can get a variety of clear stations. The antenna on this device is extremely useful for attempting to receive various stations. Because you can charge it at home, it can last a long time on a single charge; I used it on a camping trip, and the lights are extremely bright. The light from the solar panel shines brightly as well. When it comes to solar charging, it can be a little slow, and charging a phone isn't the same as charging it at home, but once it's fully charged, it charges phones a lot faster. It's perfect for camping and would be useful in an emergency.
I bought it as a "back-up" plan. There have been a lot of storms recently, and I'm afraid we're going to lose power. I appreciate the fact that this radio can be charged in a number of different ways. On a sunny day, the top-mounted solar panels allow for simple charging. There is the traditional method of plugging into a wall outlet, as well as the simple and easy method of charging. If the battery runs out and there's nowhere to plug it in to recharge, the crank option will come in handy. I appreciate how smoothly the crank portion rotates and how little effort is required. Local station signals are clearly picked up by the radio, and the volume can be easily adjusted. The radio's sound can be turned up to a very high level. It's a great tool to have on hand in case of an emergency or even for camping.
This radio station is fantastic! I really like that it can charge your phone, and it even came with an iPhone-compatible plug to keep with it. The radio has excellent sound quality, and the flashlight is extremely bright. I like that you can charge this radio in a variety of ways, including plugging it in, cranking it up, charging it with the sun, or replacing the battery. It also has a motion light, which I really like. This was designed beautifully and includes many useful features. It was a pleasant surprise because I had no idea it had so many features when I bought it.
I bought this to replace my old radio (which was a different brand but looked identical to the "old version" of this radio). The old one was fine until I dropped it and broke it. Although the speaker on the new radio appears to be the same size as the one on the old radio, the improvement is most likely due to the interior of the larger cabinet. If you're using the AM mode, you'll get interference from the battery level monitoring when you first turn on the radio. Reception improves once the battery level LEDs are turned off. However, when I compared it to another pocket radio (Sangean), the AM reception was still inferior. The FM reception was comparable to that of my other radios, including this one.
The sound quality of this small radio is surprisingly good. I've been using it to listen to the radio and have had good reception. Because the dial is so small, it's a little difficult to tune in stations with the knob, but if you take your time, you'll be able to do it. br>br>The lighting effects are incredible. There are three flashlight settings and a reading lamp to choose from. br>br>The body is well-made, so it should hold up well to hiking and camping. br>br>My only reservation is the wrist strap. The buckle itself appears to be in good condition. It's made of a stretchy, lightweight fabric. The caribiner appears to have been thrown together quickly. It wouldn't last long dangling from a belt or backpack, in my opinion. The strap's end, where it connects to the radio, feels like a waxy cord; it's stronger than some string, but I'm not sure how well it'll hold up under pressure. br>br>Having said that, this radio/flashlight comes highly recommended. Where I live, there are frequent power outages, so this has already proven to be useful.
I put all of the advertised features to the test when I first got it. Everything went according to plan. I was too preoccupied with other things to devote much time to it. I'm just glad it's there in case I need it. (I did notice that the battery was fully charged when it arrived. ) After I was done playing with it, I placed it in a sunny window with the solar panels up and later [don't remember for how long] saw it was at 100% charge,%.
Some aspects (such as the reading light and the radio) were spot on, making this a difficult review to write. But one of the main reasons we bought it was so that we could use the solar function to charge a phone. This simply does not occur. The device will be charged, but at a slow rate. It, on the other hand, struggles to charge anything from this stored energy and appears to discharge over night! The handcrank option will provide you with a quick source of power for the radio or flashlight, but you can't rely on the solar or the phone charging option.
There is no way to recharge using a hand crank or a solar panel. It's essentially a battery bank that includes a radio and a flashlight.
