Questions & Answers
Hello, and the answer to your question is a resounding yes. Of course, it takes a little longer, but not by much. There's also no need to whirl like a madman. And, at least in my experience, the battery maintains a full charge for over a month between charges.
Hello there, friend. Please remember that the radio only has one hand crank and that you must spin the handle for one minute at 130rpm. For 30 minutes, it can be used for high beam illumination or for 6 minutes, it can be used for radio. Under normal circumstances, we recommend using USB charging whenever possible. In an emergency, hand crank charging is used. I hope this has been of assistance to you.
Hello there, friend. Please keep in mind that the built-in lithium battery is charged using solar energy. However, in normal circumstances, we recommend charging the radio via USB as much as possible. The purpose of solar charging is to keep the battery alive. I hope this has been of assistance to you.
Please accept my apologies for informing you that this item does not include a weather alert feature. It has AM/FM/WB tuners, and when "WB" is selected, NOAA channels may be received. I hope this has been of assistance. br>We'd like to suggest our newest product, the NOAA Emergency Weather Alert Radio-2020 NEWEST VERSION. Programming that is specific to a specific location. This is an incredible device that does exactly what it claims to do and does it well! br>Charging the device: Because the hand crank has almost no tension, it is both effective and simple to use. br>Another way to charge the device is to use the solar panel, which transforms into a powerful light source when raised! This is an outstanding feature! This light can be turned on by an optional sensor when it detects movement within a few feet. The rechargeable batteries can be charged using a USB cable and a wall outlet in the traditional way. br>Television: br>Broadcasting: br> There will be no static! The weather forecasting device is fantastic! Radio stations on FM and AM in my area are excellent. Considering the size of this powerful unit, the audio quality is quite good. It's simple to tune, and the antenna is well-placed and simple to operate. br>Alert for SOS: It's a loud, undeniable alarm that lets you know you're in trouble. br>Status of the electric grid: There is an easily visible and understandable power status light. 25%, 50%, 75%, or 10 0% You're free to crank as much as you'd like! br>How to charge your phone My phone is a Samsung S9, and the USB cord that came with the light is too short for it. I use my own cord, which works perfectly, and the image of the connection ports in the product description is correct. br>Overall, I'm very pleased with this little emergency light and radio powerhouse!.
I specifically requested MADE IN THE UNITED STATES! Made in China is written on the box! I'm not a fan of the ruse. I'm curious as to what else is being presented incorrectly.
This is a fantastic emergency radio! It has a solid feel to it and can pick up all FM/AM radio stations. The fact that this radio has a Weather Broadcast option means you don't have to waste time looking for it on an AM station, which is a feature I really like. The flashlight is bright, and after about a minute, the hand crank fully charges the radio.
Pretty does exactly what it says on the tin. I don't use it on a regular basis because I consider it to be something I only need in an emergency. But there are two things about my unit that I've noticed. br>br>For starters, the blue battery level lights appear to be inconsistent. I was listening to the radio with all four lights turned on, for example. When I turned on the light, there were only three numbers displayed. Everything was turned off, then the radio was turned back on, and it was back to 4 o'clock. The battery lights appear to turn off AM radio, which is a bigger issue. Even if it was already set to a local station, whenever any of those blue lights are turned on, I get a lot of static. The station can be heard as soon as the blue lights go out, which is a problem because it takes 30 seconds or more for those lights to go out. br>br>However, it is much more extensive. Because, depending on what you do, those blue lights could stay on for another 30 seconds. Consider turning on the headlight while listening to AM radio. The blue lights turn on as well, and you won't be able to hear the radio until they turn off in about 30 seconds! br>br>So, it gets the job done, but unless yours is defective in some way, you'll have to deal with these quirks.
What I like best about this radio is that it runs on standard vape batteries, which means I already have a lot of spares and can replace them with longer-lasting ones. br>What I don't like about the crank charge is that it would take an ungodly amount of cranking to fully charge it; however, in an emergency, it will charge and one minute of cranking equals 6 minutes of radio or 30 minutes of light, according to the manual. br>Because the lights are led, they are extremely bright and do not drain the batteries. br>Radio reception is good outside but terrible inside. br>At this point, I think it deserves five stars, but if it isn't durable, I'll have to go back and change the rating.
****This is an update to the original review. I'm going to return this radio. It turns out it doesn't have a weather alert, which is crucial in my rural location. **
Had this radio for a while. It appears to be well-constructed. The controls are simple and straightforward to operate. I live in a rural area where NOAA and FM reception are excellent. Because I don't have AM reception on any of my radios, AM reception isn't an issue for me. I had the radio on tuned to the weather band for approximately 4 hours and the battery level was 75% after 4 hours. This radio has two major drawbacks for my needs. There is no indication that it has a weather alert feature. It makes no mention of this if it does. In north Louisiana, we've had more than our fair share of tornadoes over the last few years, all of which have struck at night. The manual states that charging the battery for one minute at 130 rpm will provide six minutes of radio time; however, is the one minute crank time a limit? Finally, we can expect some bad weather over Memorial Day weekend, according to the forecast. Then I'll see if there's a weather alert feature on this radio. I'm going to return the radio if it doesn't work.
For the price, this is a good little radio with a lot of extra features. One criticism: I found the green to be different from what was advertised. So far, I've been very pleased with the product.
The solar panel has no effect. I left it in the sun for three days and it had no charge. When I used the hand crank, it only gave me about three turns. Radio for 4 minutes or 30 seconds on the flash light I'm still unable to turn on the area light. I would have returned it if I hadn't waited too long to return it.
