Questions & Answers

Compared to the 35, what is it that the 235 offers that would justify its price difference of $100+?

In addition to these two watches, I am looking at this one During a recent visit to my local running store, I talked with the staff about the differences between the 235 and the 35. They told me basically that they are the same watch, except for these few There are a few differences between the 235 and the 200, including color screens, longer battery life, and running options like race pace estimation, V02 Max estimator, etc. If you go to the Garmin site and do the comparison, you can see the differences pretty clearly. Both manuals are also available for download. The 35 is the one I'm going with. There are a lot of nice extra features on the 235, but I'm not sure if I'm going to use them. A 5K, a half-marathon and a 10K are among my favorite events Runners who run marathons and full marathons My goal is to run five marathons and the 35 seems like it'll be sufficient. As other comments mention, I'm a 34-year-old woman and the 234 looked huge when I put it on!

Is it suitable for the wrist of a small woman?

The wrists on my hands are tiny! I can literally not wear the 235 face because it's wider than my wrist. The 35 fits well. In general, this looks better than other bracelets I usually wear on my wrist but is larger than I am used to.

Is the elevation of this track going up while you are running?

In addition to tracking elevation gain during cycling, it also tracks distance traveled

This watch claims to be waterproof, but is it really ?

This watch has a water resistance rating of 5 ATM/50m, according to the user manual (pdf attached to this listing).

For runners in training, this is not the best option
3/5

Interested in taking your running to the next level but can't afford really expensive devices? Wondering why on earth you'd need such a device in the first place? It was like you were walking in my This activity tracker is very nice. I can't give it an overall 5 star rating though, because a lot of the features that runners would expect to use don't work, and it's confusing to label it as an activity tracker when it's not actually useful As a whole, this is a good activity tracker posing (ineffectively) as a training device. It has been mentioned by many reviewers that the Forerunner 35 isn't for "serious runners", and I took that to mean that they believe "serious runners" need complex gear to keep up with them. Pacing, HR, distance, and time are the most important metrics to me. Precise analytics can't tell me much about my running, realistically. The watch has all the features that a serious runner would require. In my opinion, reviewers say the device isn't for serious runners because none of those features actually works in a way that is useful for someone who is serious about training. However, in reality most of these features don't work well enough to be of any value while training. The watch has pacing, heart rate and distance information, interval training, virtual pacing (it tells you when you deviate from a set pace), etc. While you might be able to get a ballpark pace during slow runs, it isn't very helpful for speed work and can cause a lot of frustration. Following is a rundown of what happened The pros are As a daily pacing guide for easy runs, the price is good and the device is adequate
After the initial update via the Garmin Express app, satellite acquisition is quick

Cons to keep in mind 1 *br It is a race of patience The feature of the app that irritates me most is the pacing change feature. It can take up to 3 minutes to adjust to your new pace. When doing interval training, the device takes a very long time to determine how fast you are running after a "down" piece, resulting in huge spikes in pacing as you overcompensate due to not having caught up to the device and thinking you are running too slowly. During my first few races with it, I didn't need to make major pace changes as long as I didn't change too drastically. Nevertheless, interval work does not make use of it. 3.
It is not possible to use Virtual Pacer Intervals or tempo work are of little use if you are way, way off pace for a very long time before you get an indication of your pacing being off. In terms of pace notifications, it seems that the software gives it almost a minute's buffer. Additionally, you cannot boost the pace of your run during a run, so your warm-up routine must be well planned Get up and cool down- If the pace is intentionally slowing down or changing, constant notifications will be sent out*3. It doesn't work with AutoPause To pause, you'll need to do it yourself. A third of a day is needed There are spikes in data for a period of 4 seconds
4, which indicates the watch takes a long time to start and stop. A practice interval is a time interval between two events. Runners usually don't repeat the same interval time over and over, so you have to set one time and run it once. We don't need ladders, just cut-up The interval timer I have is very useful on interval/speed work days, since I still need to carry my phone around. Additionally, it can be programmed to leave you alone during warm-up and cool-down, and may be triggered at any point during the run

All-in-all, it is a very useful tool that can compliment your training. In spite of the fact that pacing devices are an invaluable tool for running, I regret not spending a bit more on a better device for training, but I've already blown my budget, so these reviews are the result of some really frustrating training sessions. I still don't believe that you need fancy analytics from an expensive watch in order to run better. However, before you buy, I strongly recommend that you find out how well the features of the device actually work.

The negative reviews I read before buying this made me write this because I cannot believe all the negative ones I read
5/5

It took me months to decide on my running watch after I researched many different models before I bought it. It always seemed to draw me back to this watch, but due to the negative reviews, I put it off. The watch is for/isn't for whom I'm going to describe it. In a related note, I've owned an Apple Watch before and I absolutely loathed When people purchase the watch, they think they will use it to call, but honestly, the screen is so small, my frustration would make me never use it for those purposes. Sleep tracking was one of the features I liked, but I never used it because the watch would die almost every day, so I'd have to charge it at night in order to use it the next day. A real pain in the neck. I also found that running mileage was ALWAYS off. This is off by a lot, and I probably could have fixed when I got it, but I was too lazy to and felt like one shouldn't experience this Running is the ideal activity for a Garmin watch. Running 1-mile may be a better option for you if you are not as serious a runner For runs or races longer than 2 miles in a day, you might be able to use something else, but the main reason I wanted a watch was to keep track of my mileage and timing ONLY during these runs. The number of miles I run per week is around 30 so holding my phone while running just wasn't practical for me. As a millennial, I love technology, but I didn't need to buy a new watch to take advantage of all the special features I had access to but never used before. One of the negative comments I kept seeing was this I like how easy it was to use this watch. Basically, it just tells me my distance accurately, so I only need it to do that. The fact that it also shows your heart rate continuously and tracks your sleep makes it even more impressive. In addition, I don't have to worry about accidentally pressing a button without a touchscreen. Everything I need is in it, so it's easy. Additionally, I only have to charge it every few weeks, not even if I had to wait for it to die, which is never the case. The Apple Watch is my favorite gadget right now, so I am very happy about this. The GPS is acquired by a GPS unit, and I've used it at a track and in more than one race, so My husband and I have had this watch since January, and it has never let us down. We love that when we finish running, we can quickly sync the phone to appear in the app so we can see everything even more clearly. In addition to the pacing, I will also address it. They say that the average pace per mile is slow as well as the time it takes to catch up to it. Although this may be true, i am not affected by this so much since I have been running for so long I have gotten used to my pace. It's 2 o'clock in the afternoon, and I'm looking at the time like that. As soon as I hit , I'll be done. As I should be at 3 at 2, As an example, take 3. Because I know what the mile time is going to be around and since it is always at that time, this is not an issue. While the watch screen may not be the most glamorous, the Apple Watch has been the one watch that I rely on since I received it it does exactly what it's supposed to do - You can determine how much time and distance you have run accurately.

I couldn't get a good picture on the screen
3/5

Some time ago, I noticed that something was wrong with my screen. I could see a small "mark" Within hours the mark became a line. Within weeks it became a big fat mark that makes reading almost impossible. This has been a very poor experience with Garmin, for a $200 watch, you would expect much more than a watch that lasts 9 months before malfunctioning.
