This update was posted on 29 October, but it still wouldn't work The keys I needed for our vacation were nowhere to be found. When I opened the app on my iPhone that was running in the background and selected to find my keys, it said that my location was outside of range. They were in my purse, which I was holding in my hand. It was literally inches away from me, so I was not out of range. My mind went into overdrive when I finally found my lost keys in a zippered compartment. I was terrified I had thrown them away. There was no call from them! The reason I even keep it on my keys is a mystery to me. I had initially purchased three Tiles for my iPhone to use with the app, to find our keys, etc. I downloaded the app, and set up was almost as easy as setting up the Tile. Looking back, that was a total waste of money. When I went to the tile app to find the keys that were sitting right beside me, the app stated that they were not in communication. I let it sit for a minute. It's disturbing to hear that. When I was looking around for awhile, somehow I was able to get the app to work It makes me wonder why I have no problems with anything else that connects to the internet via bluetooth. In an effort to see if it could find my phone, I downloaded the app on my iPad to see what it said. When I tried to contact my phone, I received an unexpected error message. When I double-clicked the tile button, I assumed it would send the same tone to my phone as it would if I pressed it once more. Since I never gave it my phone number, it seems to indicate it was trying to call me. However, I'm not sure how it could do that when I never gave it it. In the end, I ended up deleting the app from my iPad since I didn't want it on two devices at the same time. In addition, you can send a link to your PC via email, but that also didn't work. My phone number does not appear where I am supposed to enter it. The find my phone thing still does not work even after I uninstalled it and installed it again. It only works when I press the tile button twice on the actual tile. It did not ring my phone when I double pressed the tile button as I sat here. Despite the fact that the app was running in the background, it gave me another tone which seemed to indicate that it was not able to locate I was able to open the app again after reopening it and trying again. Although I am skeptical that this thing will really be a lifeline to me if I lose something, I am willing to give it a shot. In the half of the time it works, in the other half of the time it doesn't. There was also one place that said I had two tiles set up in my account, but I only set up one, so I'm not sure why that would be. Despite not having set up the other tile yet, I plan to set it up soon with my husband's phone and keys. Because they know the tiles came from the same box, they are paired. I would also like to add one more Given the prices of these, and the fact that they work via bluetooth, I am wondering why every time I touch any button on the app, I am urged to sign up for the premium service? If the tiles only cost $5 each, the price would make sense, but I believe the new ones are at least $50 for two. a price that high, I shouldn't be bombarded with ad suggestions for Tile Premium all the time. I have no idea what the range is. The text states that the range is up to 400 feet. As I was walking out of my house to the mailbox by the street, the mailbox said that the tile was out of range, so I put the keys in the middle of my house and walked out. Because my lot is about 180 feet deep and my backyard is much longer than my front, I guess that I was probably between 80 and 90 feet tall There are 90 feet around the city. Your keys may be safe if they are in a room without walls, but maybe only if they are in an open area. However, I would not assume a 400 ft limit applies unless maybe you are out in the open. There are some things about these that I am dissatisfied with. The price of these items is definitely out of reach for me. It just seems that these are not consistently reliable for something designed to help people find something that has been lost in a stressful situation. I have purchased 2 sets of Tiles in the past two years. My first set of speakers worked until the battery died, but I had to replace the battery or they stopped working. Having not been successful with the 1st set, I ordered a 2nd set. There is one that works, and there is one that doesn't.

Trying out Tile was an exciting experience for me It has a number of limitations that I was disappointed in when I received one and saw how it actually works in practice. Tile can communicate via bluetooth only with a device that has the Tile app installed. In theory, Tile can connect via WIFI to the Internet, but it is not capable of being directly online, so if your phone is away from your Tile, it will not be able to communicate with it. Basically, you have to remember where you left it, then go to that spot and get close enough to the Tile so that it can be connected to it through Bluetooth. As oppose to "find my phone", you will not be able to communicate with your phone if you are not at home. The use of this item is limited.

I bought a Tile Pro and attached it to one of my new keys since my old set went missing last week. In my apartment, it was a bit difficult to get it to activate by my phone, but I trust that it will do the job in the event my keys are lost. I wake up to find that the tile has been removed from my keychain two days later. As of the last time I checked, the app indicated that it was last seen 8 hours earlier in the vicinity of where I was In an attempt to locate the tile, I set it to "lost" and searched for its last known location, but I was unsuccessful. Since it falls off when I am on the road, I'm certain that traffic will destroy the device. This is how the tile came loose. I don't know when it came loose. All of the keys on my keyring are there and there is nothing My hope is that it will turn up so I can learn more about it. The only thing I can see myself doing is not buying another one of these. My wallet and home already contain several sets of spare keys, so I could make several more in the future. The fact that I did not achieve this instead of purchasing a Tile in the first place makes me feel foolish. Most users would be better off copying their keys before they need them, since that is a sure-fire way to prevent identity theft Key replacement with a Tile is more of a long shot, while having a lost key replaced with a Fire is a permanent solution. My recommendation is not to buy a bluetooth tracker unless you cannot easily duplicate your keys.

Obviously, these little things are the choice of Bluetooth trackers, but I really need to restrain myself, and wait for UWB compatible tiles since, in my opinion, those are the better deals. As Apple has its U1 chips out, I believe everyone is trying to get their U1-compatible products out as soon as possible. Using tiles with UWB, users can pinpoint their current location in their house so they will not have to rely on audio as their only means of receiving information. There are going to be some exciting things to come. It will be impossible for me to express myself if Tiles are not working on it.

I think it's a great product, but I want to point out two problems. 1) it's much easier than the last one to scratch. Having been used for so long, it looks very old. It has a photo I add 2) It isn't a lot louder than the last one either. Tile Pro is nothing more than a renamed version of the same program.

When I set up the 2 pack Tile and made sure both worked properly, but tried again 2 minutes later, my phone rang when triggered by my wife's Tile, and my wife's phone rang when triggered by my Tile. I tested again later on and it worked again. It isn't possible to fully wipe clean every tile and start from scratch, so they have been returned. The fact that other people are happy makes me assume that I did something wrong. As I have been doing for a long time, I will save the $60 and look for things when I lose them.
