" According to the video on the product page, it is safe to use in 200 countries, and my GUESS is that it works as long as one of the plugs fits into an electrical outlet. I did some research on Peru and discovered that they use a variety of plugs (from European to North American). ) If I were traveling to Peru with my Kindle, I'd bring the PowerFast and all of the extra plugs, assuming it would work. Please accept my apologies for not being able to provide a definitive answer.
The electronics in this unit convert AC power (240 volts or 110 volts) to the DC (Direct Current) voltage required by the Kindle ebook. The kit includes a variety of power point adaptors to fit the needs of the country you're visiting. There are three types of pins: round, flat, and flat angled (Australian for mine). The appropriate adaptor plug is connected to the electronics piece, which is then plugged into the appropriate power outlet, allowing your Kindle to begin charging. I consider the unit to be foolproof, as it delivers the proper voltage for my Kindle Fire, and I was able to take my Kindle and the USA adaptor to Hawaii on a recent vacation there.

This is the best-built and most versatile charger for electronic devices I've seen, including but not limited to Kindles. It has a 9-watt output and can be used on any device that has a micro-USB port. It also has a USB charging port that can be used with non-USB devices. Apple products, as well as older electronics with mini-USB ports, are examples of standard devices. If you have the right USB cord, you can use B ports. It can be used in almost any country (most outliers, such as South American countries and Israel, can use the standard European "C" plug because their plugs are dual type). br>br>The charger is as small as it can be for such a powerful charger, is extremely durable, and compact, and I like that the interchangeable plugs are actually built into the charger. I have a bad habit of leaving adapters plugged in and only using my US charger. When you consider the design and quality, this is a fantastic deal. Unlike the standard PowerFast charger for the Kindle Fire, this kit includes a USB cord, making it fully functional. This came in handy when I went on a trip to a 220V location. The adapters are changed by twisting them on and off the charger's main body. Both my old and new kindles were missing their chargers. Also, the Samsung phone chargers I've been using haven't been working properly. Being able to charge everything quickly is a huge relief. So far, only the American connection has been used, but UPDATE: In the autumn of 2019, I traveled through France, Spain, and Morocco. Still looking forward to a safe international trip in July of 2020! My charger, thank goodness, is still in excellent condition.
It's fantastic that a single charger pack can be used in so many countries. I bought this for a trip to Greece at the end of the year, but I didn't need to buy a separate charger for use at home because it comes with a US compatible charger! This is a fantastic way to save money. Also, changing the charging prongs is a breeze.
I just got back from a trip out of the country and brought this charging kit with me. Changing the different plug adapters was a breeze, and I had no issues setting up or charging my Kindle. In fact, the charger that comes with this kit has a slightly higher wattage than the one that came with my Fire HDX, allowing for faster charging. I've attached the US 110W adapter and am using it as a backup adapter since returning home. The only thing that could have made this product better is if the adapters had been packaged in a carrying bag. Yes, I'd prefer a nice carrying case, but even if that wasn't possible, a cloth bag with a drawstring would have been preferable, as some people may require multiple adapters while traveling.
I had it shipped to my son's house in California, where we were stopping en route to Sydney, and it was waiting for us when we arrived. When we arrived in Sydney, we had no trouble using it. The only problem is that there isn't a bag to keep the other pieces in while you use the one you need. If we had left from home, I would have just left the ones we didn't need for this trip at home, but we couldn't do that this time, so I gave it a one-star rating because I thought it was a bit pricey for what you get.
We took this charge, along with several others, to Chile and Argentina. The majority of chargers list a variety of countries, but only a few mention South America. It worked exceptionally well in both Chile and Argentina once we figured out how to use it. Although the connections between the two countries differ, the appropriate adapters were included. The key is to realize that the USB port is detachable and can be connected to any plug that is compatible with the country you are visiting. There's one for the United States and Canada, and it's also quite good. This provided enough power to charge a Kindle, an older Samsung phone, and an iPad.
Apple irritates me to no end. It's especially useful if you're traveling outside of the continent because it comes with so many different plug heads and automatically converts between 110 volts and the 220 or 240 volts used almost everywhere else!.
