When I use this to power a DAC (Topping E30) on my highly resolving 2 channel audio system, it provides nice steady quiet power and improves the noise/hiss floor noticeably over the stock DAC. I'm powering the DAC with a phone charger and USB cable.
It gives my Topping E30 DAC a silky smooth sound. I can now listen to my DT770s without feeling as if my ears are being ramrodded with treble. I'm reminded of the power supplies that come with Schiit Audio components by the weight. If you own a Topping E30, this power supply is a must-have.
This improves the sound of the Topping e30 Day, as well as other Dacs operating at the same voltage. A phone charger, for example, is a switching power supply that does not work as well. It didn't appear to make a difference in the measurements in the tests at the Audioscience Review site, but it did. Switching power supplies are great for audio these days, but they're not ideal for a cheap phone charger.
It had become excessively hot. To the touch, it is extremely hot.
With the Topping E30 DAC, the sound is fantastic. The quality of the power supply or source that it is connected to has a significant impact on the sound. It has slightly more detail than my if ipower, but my ifi ipower has slightly more dynamic bass.
It's been 8 months since I got it. Clean power is ideal for the DAC. br> Music that is extremely pure and warm.
This was also used to power a top-of-the-line e30 dac (note that this is a linear power supply). According to some audiophiles, this is a cleaner power supply than a switching power supply, which most inexpensive transformers are. br>br>If you need clean power for sound, video, or other applications, this is an excellent power supply.
