It's not the same as the first generation!
It works on the Show 8 after I bought it.

The item I received was incompatible with the second generation.
This was purchased on Amazon's recommendation for my Gen 4 Echo (not Echo Dot), the large spherical one (not the small spherical one). br>br>The product description is very "markety," with no technical specs other than volume measurements, which I don't care about or trust; I know it's 30W, but that's not enough information to figure out which Amazon devices it'll power. br>br>I've included a photo of the plug so you can examine it for yourself and make an educated decision. br>br>Here are some highlights for you:
- voltage of supply: 110- 240 volts alternating currentbr> - amperage input: ~1A
- voltage of output: 18v
- amperage of output: Good plug. 67Abr>br> This is something I strongly suggest.
This piug is a Currently working on a 2nd Generation Echo SHOW, but it will not be for a 2nd Generation Echo, despite what they claim.
This power adapter is a perfect match for the one that came with my mother's second-generation Echo Show. Her cat is fascinated by the cord and wishes to bite it for some reason. If the cat manages to bite through the gaff tape, I'll have to buy another adapter soon.
It's always too big, and when I return it, they send me a new one, which doesn't fit either. They received four boxes, which I returned to them. What's the best way to get a new one that fits in my bag? HELP.
careful. Based on the image, I bought this for my Amazon Echo 2nd Gen. THE PRODUCT SENT IS NOT THE ONE IN THE PHOTO! It connects in a different way. Liz Olsen's photo from November 15, 2019 is available to view. That's where the link is. br>The two I purchased will be returned. br>This is extremely inconvenient because I own a couple of white Echo 1st Gens and those power supplies are no longer available. br>Amazon, please step up to the plate.
I'm really frustrated because it doesn't fit the 2021 Echo Show 5 2nd Gen. When my charcoal all-new 2021 Echo Show 5 2nd Gen arrived packaged with a white cord (never had a black device packaged with a white cord), Amazon customer service forced me to buy this (with the expectation of a refund). Despite the description, this replacement cord will not fit the 2021 Show 5 2nd Gen because the plug is too large. Customer service at Amazon appears to be completely unaware of the situation. Many reviews for this product state the same thing, but Amazon Customer Service is unaware of this. After receiving the useless cord, I was able to persuade customer service that a black cord "isn't available yet," but will be soon. To put it another way, they purposefully packaged white cords with charcoal products because they haven't yet created any black cords. I know, it's a complete first-world issue, but it's still a pain. Amazon usually outperforms the competition.
