Even on my older cooler, the cord is of excellent quality and performs admirably. The red and blue dots for heat and cold polarity were missing, so it got a 5 out of 5. On a road trip, I almost ruined a cooler full of cold foods by turning the wide side up, which causes heat. Cold when the narrow side is facing up. It's kind of the opposite of what you'd expect, but I've learned my lesson.
Whereas Igloo and Coleman cords quickly wear out, I expect this cord to last months, if not a year or more. Whereas Coleman and Igloo cords get so hot that they burn fingers and melt into almost unrecognizable and unusable junk, these cords are as cool as my ex-girlfriend. wife's undivided und undivided attention br>This cord comes highly recommended!.
This was used to replace the 12V plug, and it has worked perfectly so far. The price is reasonable, and the quality is comparable to that of an OEM plug. If I needed a replacement, I'd order it again.
I purchased this cord for my husband's igloo plug-in cooler after the original one failed. He is an over-the-road truck driver, and he claims that this cord is better than the original because the plug-in cooler is smaller. It's longer in part, and it fits into the outlet plug much better. This is the second one I bought him; the first one is still in good working order; he just needed a backup in case he misplaced the first one while on the road.
Before purchasing a new inverter, I tried this new cord first, and it worked perfectly! I wish it had a marking for proper insertion because it lacks the blue dot of the original, so I just used a small piece of masking tape on the up-facing side.
After six months, the original Igloo plug failed, but they replaced it. Within a year, the plug failed, and the replacement was not covered under warranty. Although the Igloo replacement plug is more expensive, I ordered this one because it appears to be a better plug in every way. The one in the Igloo jiggled. This one is more comfortable for me, and I am pleased with it. I don't know how long it will last because I've only had it for a week, but so far it's been fine.
Due to a loose connection in the vehicle outlet, the OEM cord's tip eventually melted. In the 120V to 12V adapter, there was also some slack. This one is more secure, with larger contact areas and springs that appear to be more substantial. Although I only used it for about an hour, I would purchase it again. In full daylight, it was sometimes difficult to tell if the OEM power light was on. You could almost use it as a mini-flashlight with this one.
I bought this cord to replace one that I thought I'd misplaced, but within a day or two of receiving it, I discovered the original. br>br>Now that I have two, I can keep several vehicles ready to use my electric cooler in, so it's not a complete waste.
