It's worth a shot because the connection at the phone end of the cord usually wears out, but for a few dollars more, you can also get a spare transformer.
It appears to be the case. I'm using it on an old Kindle Fire 7, which is probably at least that old. It still works with a standard USB cable, but not with the newer Kindle Fire 8 Plus. There's a USB port on that one. connection with a c cable

THIS IS NOT A GOOD ITEM TO BUY! This is the second time I've bought a replacement charger for my daughter's Fire tablet. It's a waste of time! The other one I bought was also a waste of money! I'm very disappointed because I'm a regular Amazon shopper. I am usually ecstatic with everything I receive! Both chargers start to fall apart. They simply fall out of the port, preventing the tablet from receiving a full charge! I'm so fed up with not being able to find a working charger! The tablet's original charger works perfectly, but kids misplace things all the time. I was unable to locate the original one that came with the tablet for purchase!.
Update 8/2/2021: This charger is still in use for charging my Kindle. It works perfectly and always charges my Kindle the first time. br>br>I have an older Kindle Paperwhite (I'm not sure which generation it is, but it's at least 4 years old). In our apartment, I misplaced the original cord. We looked everywhere, but it was nowhere to be found. I looked on Amazon for a Kindle Paperwhite cord and came across this one with a good rating. I mistakenly assumed it was a Kindle-branded cord, but it isn't. br>br>Despite the fact that this cord is not a genuine Kindle cord, it has proven to be extremely reliable, fitting snugly into the charging port of my Kindle Paperwhite, charging completely every time, and fitting snugly into the charging brick adapter. br>br>There are two pieces included in this charger. The charging brick adapter, into which you plug the USB cord, is the first component. The other component is a 6-and-a-half-foot USB cord with Kindle compatibility on one end and USB on the other. Because I don't have a newer Kindle to test it with, I can't say whether or not this cord works with it. br>br>Black is the color of the charger I ordered. In hindsight, I should have ordered the white charger because my Kindle Paperwhite is white, but it's not a big deal. Because I read a lot, I charge my Kindle every two to three days, and the charger continues to work well. br>br>You can use the charging brick adapter to plug your Kindle into any standard electrical outlet, or you can just use the USB cord to connect your Kindle to your computer. Because my Kindle does not have Wi-Fi, I frequently use the cord to transfer books from my computer to my Kindle. If you, like me, misplaced your original Kindle charger, this is a good replacement charger with a decent cord length, high performance, a tight connection, and a reasonable charging rate.
Compatible with a length of 5 feet There is no number six. Included is a 5-foot cord. "Tricky use of 6" is what I'm referring to. 5 Ft. The term "compatible" refers to the fact that no cords are included. If you have them, you can use your own cords. Why did they put 6. in their product description if it was compatible with any length cord? 5 Ft. except to mislead the customer into thinking the cords are included - As a result, I believe I have been duped or defrauded. They even include a picture of the cords in their product description! Be careful who you buy from.
My Kindle had stopped charging for the third time. I was about to toss it out and never buy another, but I took a chance on this cord, which worked like a charm and charges extremely quickly. br>br>Highly recommend it.

I wanted a long cord so that I could plug it in while reading if necessary. However, it is too big for my Kindle. I'm afraid to put it in there.
There's nothing I like about it; the new cord in my charger, as well as the cord in my Kindle Fire 2018, don't fully seat themselves in the charger. My ereader will be delivered the next day. So I'll try them on and return them if the cord doesn't fit properly in the reader. Because Amazon recommended it, I chose these items as well. The last year, finding lighting cords for Kindle has been a challenge. The charger was purchased with the correct wattage in mind.
I purchased this charger after misplacing the charger cords for both my Kindle (which is quite old) and my Fire tablet. I ordered this in the hopes that it would work for both of them, and it did. Because it's so old, I wasn't sure if my kindle would still work, but it does. My purchase has made me extremely happy.
