Although this rack is excellent, note that the width and depth specs are wrong due to the mounting feet being integral
4/5

There are a lot of reasons to love In my review, I am reviewing the 4POSTRACK12U product (there are many Startech racks), which is the product I purchased. The item was packaged extremely well for shipping, enclosed in bubble wrap on each side. I was pleased to find that all the items had arrived in perfect condition, despite the heavy box It was strange to me that a manufacturer would charge so much for a folded sheet of metal, after I bought a lot of racks. A great deal of them are overpriced and made very cheaply. There is a lot of quality workmanship in this rack. One person was able to put it together very quickly. Warning this is a very detailed Dimensions of a (minimum) 23" screen are stated in the specifications. This is a 62 (D) x 25 inch map. It measures 1 (H) x 26 inches. that is accurate for the frame of the rack, it does not include the feet attached to the bottom, which are part of the rack itself. This rack has 27 mounting feet, including the feet that mount on the rack. AV cabinets I use are too deep for this item, being 5" deep. In this case, if the specs had been accurate, or if the feet were removable, this would not have been a problem. My wishlist It would have been awesome if the vertical posts had cage nut holes on the side as well as the front and back. Racks that use side screws instead of lag screws can be used with some great shelving options. In spite of the specs failing to specify if the rack nut holes are on the front or the back, I was able to make this guess from the pictures of the product. Considering the price and value of this rack, if it fits mechanically into your application, then it would be a good choice for you.

The product is great, but the packaging is awful
3/5

There are many large and heavy parts missing from my rack, including more than half of it. It was almost as if all of the pieces had been wiped away. There is a flaw in the design of the packaging in that it is clearly dependent on the carrier not tipped towards its side, which every carrier does all the time in spite of the tiny sticker on the box which requests that they not do so. In order to understand this, you must understand that I have seen plenty of boxes arrive in questionable condition, and I have even received boxes much heavier than the treadmill (hello, Amazon! ) and this is the first time in 10 years of receiving such a delivery that there were missing or damaged items that were clearly a result of bad service during It is necessary to understand that this is not a true box, at least not the one that arrived at my home, to fully comprehend how much of a failure the packaging may be. The metal pieces that arrived were laid on cardboard that was rolled into a square and then zip tied to keep them from falling apart. This part of the package worked well, and the cardboard is strong, the zip tie is strong, etc. However, they simply had tape over the ends. As a matter of fact, both ends of my package were punctured by large holes that appear to have been designed that way. I have been very impressed with the condition of the rack pieces that arrived! As for their robustness, I am confident they will serve me well once the rest of the rack is delivered. Today, however, I feel let down by the entire supply chain that brought about this scenario, as I am hardly the only one who has felt this way. I feel that as the seller, Amazon failed to properly package the materials before they shipped out. By disregarding the instructions on the package that told not to tilt the package, the carrier mishandled the It should never have been approved. StarTech (the manufacturer) created an appalling graphic design for their packaging. Children as young as 7 could design a stronger box.
This whole experience has been a frustrating one, and I hope it will not happen to anyone else, so I have given it a 1 star rating.

It's a good rack, but the instructions are terrible
5/5

Purchasing this rack was a necessity for me because I need a way to house a 30" deep server cheaply. It's awesome to have a rack like that. I found the casters to be very sturdy after a little weight was applied. My cage was supplied with all the hardware I needed, including cage nuts and bolts along with all the tools needed for installation. It was easy and straightforward to adjust the length. Nothing was crooked, I didn't use a square. It bolted up just fine. Those are the bad things. I am very unhappy with the instructions. In order to get it working, I had to remove and reinstall the program several times. It was a bit overwhelming to read the instructions, so I stopped and just looked at the picture. It was the instructions that kept me from giving it 5 stars if not for the quality of the rack at a very fair price. I am unsatisfied. The following tips will help you
it comes time to lay it out to get the length, the last square hole is where the number should go. you get there, you will realize how great the rack is! It includes hardware, and is very cost-effective when compared to other racks. It fits 30" servers without a problem and has plenty of room.

I am extremely pleased
5/5

I am extremely happy with it, it exceeded my expectations. As much as I was concerned about the sturdiness of the rack, once assembled, it was clear that I would not have any issues. The idea of an adjustable rack just didn't seem rigid, but more streamlined. It was a great performance from Com. The need arises for more items and I will purchase them as needed.

I received the package (new, shipped and sold by Amazon)
3/5

A lot of parts are missing. A lot of key parts were missing from the rack when it was delivered. A cross member rail is missing at the bottom as well as an adjustable side rail. Essentially, I gave it two stars because I think the metal bars are solid, so I'll give it two stars on that basis. The only difference is the technology. The quality control of the products and packaging is terrible. The Startech live chat support staff advised me to email them the missing parts and my Amazon receipt in order to get them the missing parts. It will take me a few days to hear back from them and then I will simply need to wait and see how this will work out. I know what a hassle this is.
