Questions & Answers

Is this memory card compatible with my Nikon D70?

Question: What Compact Flash Cards are compatible with the Nikon D70 and D70S Digital SLR cameras? The following cards have been tested and approved for use in the Nikon D70 / D70S Digital SLR: This set of SanDisk SDCFBs is 16 MB (32MB), 64 MB, 96 MB, 128 MB, 160 MB, 192 MB, 256 MB and 300 MB as well as 1 GB each with Sandisk's firmware version II and higher for 160 MB. For information on compatibility, contact the manufacturer of the third-party card. One of the approved cards should be kept on hand for troubleshooting, according to Nikon.

Is it compatible with the Canon 40d?

The Canon 40D is designed to work with Compact Flash cards up to 32GB in size. So far, my Transcend card has performed flawlessly, so this should be fine.

Will the Canon EOS 300D work with 8GB or 16GB of memory?

According to the camera's specifications, it can hold up to 8GB of data. However, anything more than 2GB can cause the camera to take longer to boot because it has to read a more complicated file system. Lag has been reported in basic functions, but some users claim it isn't noticeable enough to be a problem. If a 16GB card is used, the camera can only format 8GB of it and use 8GB of it. br>I hope this information is useful!

Excellent for computers from the past! It was used on a NEC PC
5/5

On my NEC PC-90, I used this card with a Syba Dual Compact Flash CF to 44 Pin IDE adapter. I imported from Japan a 9821Nr15 laptop. This can be a very convenient way to transfer files without a floppy or CD drive if you know how to set it up. (Use the CONV98AT tool to make the card compatible with both the PC- and the Mac-based operating systems. ) Computers from the year 98 and today). My options for a suitable hard drive replacement were limited (I believe it was limited to 7 GB). In any case, this can be a good hard drive replacement for retro computers. I can't promise that it will work on all retro computers, but I can say that it works well on newer NEC PC-based systems. The total number of computers is 98. br>br>PS: If you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, try using the words "cre If you install a Windows 9x OS on one of these CF cards, perform this tweak to help extend the card's lifespan. br>This prevents Windows from overusing the pagefile, which would otherwise result in excessive writes to the card; instead, the PC will use all of its available RAM before paging. *Open C:br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>b Windows System is a term that refers to the operating system that is used by Windows. ini is an ini file that can be opened with Notepad. br>*Write on a new line in the [386Enh] section of the file: ConservativeSwapFileUsage=1 (leave a single blank line between the last line in [386Enh] and the next section)br>*Save the file and restart the computer to see the changes.

I couldn't get it to work on my iMac
3/5

I purchased this because I have a USB hub with a compact flash slot, and I back up my data with external hard drives, USB thumb drives, SD and micro SD cards, and other similar devices because Time Machine does not work for me. Because I had the slot, I figured I'd use it to backup my data in a different format. This Transcend Compact Flash card is not recognized by my iMac, and a search of the internet yielded no results. I'm not sure if the problem is with my computer or with the flash card, but it's useless to me either way. It was a waste of money. I'm not sure if it can be returned because opening it requires destroying the packaging. I didn't see anything that said it wouldn't work with my computer, but the print on the back of the packaging is very fine. br>br>1 star overall because it didn't work for me with no warning (that I saw). br>For storage, I gave it 5 stars because 8GB was exactly what I needed, not because it was a large amount. br>1 star for warmth because, really, what does that mean? br>It didn't work for me, so it gets a one-star rating for value.

When I first got this card, it worked great, but after a short period of time, my camera started throwing an error code when shooting and wouldn't take photos
3/5

To get the camera to work, you'd have to turn it off and then on again, and you'd only be able to take a few more pictures before it threw the same error code. The error code was found via a Google search. It could be a variety of things, but reformatting the card was suggested, and I did so. There has been no modification. The same error code is still being thrown. I tried everything I could think of to solve the problem, but nothing worked. I finally got around to putting my old compact flash card in the camera and reformatting it, and I've had no problems since. It really works. There is no indication of an error. So, obviously, it was this compact flash card, which had a very short lifespan.

Transcend, it's been a pleasure doing business with you
5/5

It's still working properly after four years. br>Although it should be noted that I have a few of these cards and that they are not being used full time, if you are a hobbyist photographer on up, it is highly recommended to have three to four cards of various sizes and makes so that you can see any differences between them to fit your specific needs! br>BTW, and FYI, I got this card in record time; it's been great doing business with you at Transcend!.

Format the card with your camera; I bought this for my Canon Rebel XT, which I primarily use for photos of outdoor activities; I rarely use this camera for sports photography, so the card's speed isn't as important to me
5/5

Initially, I verified that I could write and read files from the new card using my PC and that everything appeared to be in order by taking a few shots with the camera; everything appeared to be in order, but after about 5 shots in the field, the camera displayed an error. It occurred to me that the card's volume format or block size might be incompatible with the camera. As a result, I used the camera to format the card on the spot. The Rebel XT correctly formatted the card after recognizing its size. I had no further issues after that and took about 50 photographs that day. I took a few burst photos, and the speed seemed to be excellent. The download speed through my PC's card reader was lightning fast; those with slow download speeds should check to see if their card reader and PC support at least USB 2. 0 USB 3 would be preferable, and their PC's hard drive speed is 7200 RPMs. USB 1 or a slow hard drive can significantly increase download time; keep in mind that a real-time virus scanner can also significantly increase download time. Because the volume format and block size on the card can affect write performance, those concerned about photo transfer time to the card should double-check that they formatted the card with the camera, as the camera's programming should choose the best volume format and block size for the best results. Before you start the format, make sure your camera is running the most recent firmware version; if it isn't, consider updating it. Only time will tell if the system is reliable.
