There is no better SD reader than this. In an attempt to transfer old pictures from a previously used phone from 10 years ago, I had to transfer them from USB storage devices. Besides the regular slot, the phones have Transflash slots and micro SD slots. My decision to buy this product was based on my desire to be able to easily transfer my music library from my iOS phone to my Android The experience has been very positive so far. With the SD card reader on my Imac (running the current version of Yosemite as its operating system), I started playing with the card. Once I had the micro SD card reader plugged in, I inserted a 120 GB scan disk. A card had not to be installed, nor did it need to be searched for. My finder brought up a drive with no name. Simply dragging and dropping files to it made it work. There's a folder called music on the SD card, so I dropped all of my I tunes content in there. I took about an hour and a half to copy all the files (roughly 86 GB). My Galaxy S8 came with an SD card, so I put it into the phone after the files were copied. I had no trouble at all getting the song to recognize the SD card and the files on it. Upon opening rocket player ( My music player of choice) all of my songs were there for me to listen to. You can inform us about Macintosh and Android products compatibility if you know anything about it. When you try to transfer files from one computer to the other, you will discover how frustrating it is. Making that process incredibly easy has been made possible by this. There's no frills, so we made this product as basic as we could reasonably do It seems to work fine with the SD slot, but the micro SD slot will break your cards. It has no spring and no tactical feedback when inserting cards. I was able to insert the micro SD card with some effort, and it responded fine, but I was unable to remove it again When I tried to use pliers, my micro SD card broke due to the pressure.
