This card reader was purchased to replace an older one that I had. When I was transferring some files to a new micro SD card, I noticed that my old reader was reading and writing at an extremely slow speed. With a 3. 0 USB This reader performs significantly better, and the read/write speeds were more in line with my expectations. My two screenshots show the increase in speed; both were taken with the same micro SD card, but the first was taken with the Warrky reader and the second with the old one. I can't comment on the other ports because I haven't tried them yet (and I doubt I'll ever use the older flash memory ports), but I'm sure the extra USB 3. 0 ports will come in handy. It's possible that 0 ports will prove useful. It has a braided cable, which I always appreciate, and while the box is plastic, it appears to be a higher quality plastic, plus I imagine a metal casing would cause heat issues. The end of the USB also comes with a small plastic cap, which is a nice touch considering most of these types of things I buy don't come with any kind of protection for the plug when it's not in use. I also noticed that the micro SD card goes in and out of the port fairly easily; I don't have to push hard to get it in, and I don't think it'll get stuck, but it still feels secure, not loose. br>br>I bought this primarily for use with micro SD cards, and while I looked at smaller readers first, every single one seemed to have at least one review where the reader melted the card, which made me a little concerned because I do a lot of bulk file transfers. Some people suggested it might be due to the small size of those readers, so I decided to purchase a larger one, ultimately settling on the Warrky reader. I'm happy to report that I don't believe this reader will be bothered by the heat. I transferred some files for an hour and the reader only got slightly warm, but not hot, and it was still pleasant to the touch (despite the fact that I've only used one port at a time). Overall, I'm satisfied with this reader, and it has performed admirably for the purpose for which I purchased it.

The positivebr>Until I plugged it in, I thought this was a fantastic little reader. All of the ports were activated after inserting an SD card. The card was flawlessly read by the machine. The badbr>After removing the SD card, the directory remained on the computer, but it was inaccessible. That would be expected, but what isn't expected are the phantom files it left behind. It will not refresh if you re-insert another card. To access the other card, I'd have to unplug the unit and plug it back in. br>br>Now for the bad news. br>When I shut down the system, it hung for a long time in shutdown mode. I was under the impression that it was in the process of being updated. When I tried to boot up the computer the next day, it failed at post, requiring me to reset the bios and reconfigure all of the settings. After resetting the system, it failed again, and I had to start over. I then restarted the computer with the default bios settings, but I still couldn't get it to work. I spent over 90 minutes on the phone with the motherboard company's tech support, not suspecting it could be the card reader. I was able to boot the computer without any problems after unplugging the card reader. br>br>Conclusionbr>This card reader has major flaws and may cause hardware failures.

First and foremost, if you have an older pre-owned vehicle, This device will give you three additional USB 3 ports, as well as all of the card slots you could need, in one well-designed device, whether you're using a USB C MacBook Air or even a MacBook Pro. package that has been built The integrated USB A output cable isn't my favorite, but it is at least long and of good quality, with a braided style cable that looks and feels like it will last a long time. br>It was packaged safely in a zip-lock bag. Much better than my previous stand-alone USB 2 card reader, it froze quickly. br>br>I tried hammering it a little by connecting a 1TB SSD with 8 partitions (each with a different macOS for tech needs), a 2TB stand-alone Seagate GoFlex USB 3 drive, WD MyPassport Ultra 4tb USB 3 drive, a SanDisk Extreme III 4gb CompactFlash card, and finally a Kingston 8gb SDHC card at the same time. All ports worked fine, and I didn' While they were all connected, I had no trouble opening any of these devices. I didn't notice the WARRKY getting too hot during long transfers, but there was a noticeable temperature change after about 10 minutes of copying data from all sources at once. br>br>Again, for the price, I don't think you can beat the performance and functionality, and they also offer a "Lifetime Warranty," which I hope I never have to use, but you never know. Now if they could just make one for my newer USB C Macs for the same price, I'd be overjoyed. When I emailed them about it, they said they'd do it at some point, so I'm hoping it'll happen sooner rather than later.
