In my case, I used this to connect a HP Laserjet 1100 (previously parallel only) which lasts never-endingly on a single cartridge and is my sole black and white printer. As for scanning, I can't think of a reason why it wouldn't work.

This adapter was an optional purchase with the order of a single Parallel Port Fast Ethernet Print server (device to hook up an old printer to the network). A Mini Parallel port was most commonly used instead of a full-sized Parallel port on older HP models. In just a few seconds, it was plugged in to the TP-80 Here is the link for the DL-PS110P and prints like a charm now without needing to be plugged into a It is now possible to print to this thing from anywhere in the house. In spite of the fact that I have spent this much money on the printer, it will finally break after 8 years of use.
The printer on my desktop was not compatible with my macbook, so I had to switch. (As the one I had a full cartridge in), I didn't want to buy a new one. It was connected to my printer using this cable and then I connected another one I bought that converted it to a USB and it worked! I was able to prolong the life of the old printer by two more years for only about five dollars!.
I think the problem was solved for an affordable price. Thank you!.

A male to male adapter is needed so you can connect a regular printer cable to an HP printer (like the Laserjet 1100) with a mini-plug This adapter has a center female port. It comes with the little clips necessary to secure the adapter to the cable, but these need to be installed. I also found that there isn't much space to plug it into the back of an LJ 1100, but it works very well.
You don't need to do anything else other than plug it in. I believe it would cost between $15 and $20 I would spend no more than $20. Buying refurbished printers is much more cost-effective than buying new ones.
