Do you know if it will work with HP laserJet 8550n? Is that okay?

The connection works with my 8000n, but I'm not sure if the 8550n does as well.

Connected to the Internet is a 25-pin connector. Is there a connector I need to plug into the USB port on my ?

According to your description, a DB25 to USB cable is what you need. If you are interested in finding a "DB25 to USB Printer Cable" on Amazon, please search that term. It should present you with a few Be sure to check the details of the cable to make sure it will work with your printer. Wishing you the best of luck.

Is this only applicable to printing, or can it also be used for scanning?

In my case, I used this to connect a HP Laserjet 1100 (previously parallel only) which lasts never-endingly on a single cartridge and is my sole black and white printer. As for scanning, I can't think of a reason why it wouldn't work.

I love it! The cable I purchased allows my old HP Laserjet 8000 printer to be plugged into my PC via a standard Centronics parallel port

I couldn't have asked for a better outcome

This adapter was an optional purchase with the order of a single Parallel Port Fast Ethernet Print server (device to hook up an old printer to the network). A Mini Parallel port was most commonly used instead of a full-sized Parallel port on older HP models. In just a few seconds, it was plugged in to the TP-80 Here is the link for the DL-PS110P and prints like a charm now without needing to be plugged into a It is now possible to print to this thing from anywhere in the house. In spite of the fact that I have spent this much money on the printer, it will finally break after 8 years of use.

I bought this to connect my old laser printer to my computer since it did not support USB connections
5/5

The printer on my desktop was not compatible with my macbook, so I had to switch. (As the one I had a full cartridge in), I didn't want to buy a new one. It was connected to my printer using this cable and then I connected another one I bought that converted it to a USB and it worked! I was able to prolong the life of the old printer by two more years for only about five dollars!.

I've been saved! Your solution saved me at this point I have a new(er) computer and a WAY older printer, and this lets them both work I've never been able to print anything that didn't print perfectly! I don't want to jinx it, but I've never printed anything that DID not print properly! In addition to getting rid of the old printer, I had just purchased a new toner cartridge, which we all know are very expensive

I think the problem was solved for an affordable price. Thank you!.

Perfectly worked, but was a little on the large side

It was necessary to cut some plastic away from the printer case to plug in my wife's computer to the same printer as mine. Connection is oversized, however, so I had to route it to the same printer as mine.

I found that this "dohicky" does what it says

A male to male adapter is needed so you can connect a regular printer cable to an HP printer (like the Laserjet 1100) with a mini-plug This adapter has a center female port. It comes with the little clips necessary to secure the adapter to the cable, but these need to be installed. I also found that there isn't much space to plug it into the back of an LJ 1100, but it works very well.

I'm very pleased with how well it works! It's just like what the other reviewers have said if you have an old HP LaserJet Printer and want to use it on a newer PC, this little baby, combined with the USB to Parallel IEEE 1284 cable, will do the trick
5/5

You don't need to do anything else other than plug it in. I believe it would cost between $15 and $20 I would spend no more than $20. Buying refurbished printers is much more cost-effective than buying new ones.
