It is Display out to HDMI, not HDMI in to Display out

Worked like a charm. Because I work from home, I have to connect my work laptop to my monitor at home to be able to work. Likewise, the HP I bought comes with display port, but I do not have a cable for it. *I read other comments in which people asked for clarification over the direction of the link. It is not the other way around it is display port to HDMI. You can find a description of it here.

A slowdown in display speed between CPU and monitor does not occur. Whenever you have a dvi monitor and your computer only has a HDMI connection, this is the device you must have to connect them.

I received it sooner than I expected and it worked as An HDMI adapter - what can you say about it? I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it arrived a day earlier than I expected! It worked just like I expected it to!
