The printer I use is a HP LaserJet 5L that I have been using for over a decade. I liked how easy it was to install and how well it performed. I connect the Belkin F5U002 to a USB port on the computer and plug the other end into the Centronics port on the LaserJet 5L while connected to the internet. As soon as I turn on the LaserJet 5L, it starts printing. There aren't any messages displayed on my computer, but within 5 minutes my HP LaserJet 5L is visible under the Printers tab in the Device Manager of the Control Panel and
This cable was used to connect a laser printer from HP six megapixels to an eMac with OS The connection can be flaky from time to time, however. Generic postscript drivers are best suited for this.

In the process of purchasing an old HP laserjet 6P printer after hearing how long they last, I neglected to realize that it was only connected to the computer using a parallel cable. With my new HP PC running Windows 7, I have a desktop computer running the latest operating system. However, it is impossible to connect to While researching cable reviews, I found the results mixed for less expensive cables. There was a lot of information I saw that suggested HP computers wouldn't even work with them. I decided to go with this cable rather than spend $15 on something that might or might not work. The decision I made is one I am glad I made. After I took it out of the package, hooked up the printer, and followed the Windows 7 Getting Started manual, all I had to do it was plug it in. Installation of the necessary drivers has to be completed. Even though the instructions were there, I neglected to read them. I am a bit of a tech novice and am looking for guidance. It was fantastic when it came to savvy. No fuss, no muss!.
In comparison to newer adapters, the cable and connectors are nicely built with heavy construction. Adding to my Goodwill purchase from years ago, I have purchased my second USB to parallel printer adapter cable. I almost have to halt my PC when parallel printing is enabled. The adapter cable makes the process of connecting this device much easier- The CPU should be brought up bi-weekly There is a stalling of the directional signal. Except if one has installed additional Epson printer utilities, there is one issue which virtually no one will have to deal with. There is no option to use Microsoft utilities from the printer properties interface with Epson Printer Genie Utilities (only a parallel connection).
The printer is still relatively new, and I bought it because we have a lot left in our HP LaserJet 6MP. With this cable, we were able to attach it to a Dell Inspiron laptop that did not have a parallel port, and was running Windows XP. In my case, after plugging in the printer and the laptop, turning on the printer, going to the Control Panel, clicking on Printers, and clicking "Add A Printer", it worked. I purchased the cable used, and it did not come with software installation CD, but that was not an issue because A second problem was that it was not "plug and play," so the computer did not recognize it right away. By using the method above, I was able to install it to a USB virtual port, and I finished setting everything up in just.
With this camera, I was able to connect an older HP4+ laser printer with a recent Dell laptop. XP is the operating system on the laptop. It was very easy to set up at the beginning. With the installation CD, it can be installed in seconds. Plugging that in, connecting it to the printer and to the USB port on my laptop, and then turning on the printer was all that was needed. As soon as it was discovered, it was In the past few months, I have mostly been using the printer daily, and I have hooked it up several months ago. The product I purchased from Belkin exceeded my expectations. I knew there were cheaper versions, but I was more confident in buying one because I've had good luck with the brand in the past. There are a few other people I miss.
In the same way as the previous reviewer, I purchased this cable because I have an old LaserJet 5MP printer that I wanted to connect to a brand new iMac that I just bought. A screen of 5 inches Intel Core 2 Duo processor with a speed of 33 GHz It is based on Snow Leopard. In my case, I hooked up the printer cable to the new iMac, and then plugged the USB end into the new computer. I was notified that the printer was detected by the computer right away- The software does not need to be installed - I just printed it off and it looks In other words, the cable works according to its description. I am even more impressed than I expected with my iMac.
In order to replace an outdated Appletalk connection to a laser printer with this item, a new Appletalk connection has been purchased. There were times when it performed poorly, but it did work. A printer diagnostic will often claim that the printer is sending data, but it is not. This happens when you first power up the printer to establish contact with the computer. Shutting down the printer, then turning it back on You will be able to print 2 times after establishing a usable connection.
Plugging my old HP LaserJet 5MP into my laptop and running the application was all I needed to do Thanks to you, I can now It was a much shorter process than I had expected since the Belkin USB Printer Adapter worked right away. Remember to restart your computer after placing the adapter in it. I saved myself the cost of a new printer and the hassle of disposing of the old one. The person who wrote a review of this product on Amazon and referenced the HP LaserJet 5MP is to be thanked. Regardless of who you are, I am truly grateful to you!.
With the Belkin USB Parallel Printer Adapter, I was able to connect an HP Laserjet 2100M printer to a laptop running Vista Home. Even so, the learning process took a lot of time and proved to be a bit frustrating. There is a trick to avoiding a lot of aggravation use the same USB port each time. You will be designating a USB port as the parallel port when you install the driver if you ever plug the printer cable into another USB port, it will not.
