It's a little more expensive, but it's well worth it because of the time savings. I needed to update our company's network, but I didn't want to spend money on additional punch down tools. Plus, putting them together myself is more work, and there's a good chance I'll make a mistake and have to troubleshoot some bad connections. So I went out and bought these, as well as some 100' Cable Matters Cat 6 cables and keystone jack plates. Everything went together quickly, and the system worked right away when I turned it on. Obtaining all of the necessary components (Jacks and Cables) ahead of time It cost a little more to have it assembled, but it was worth it to me because it was faster and worked the first time.
Based on recommendations and the fact that they are made by the same company as the patch panel, I purchased these slightly more expensive couplers. All ten were easily installed, slipping right in and out with ease. According to a previous post, couplers from other manufacturers were difficult to remove. I haven't had a chance to test these yet because I'm waiting to disassemble the network and move the hardware into the rack. Finally, these were installed, and they worked perfectly. There are no failures, and it's a lot less work than punching a hole in the wall. All of them fit and are simple to take off. Will purchase additional items.
Use a Cat 6 Keystone Patch Panel (Blank Patch Panel) to terminate your network wiring in the back, then use some short (6" or so) jumpers to make your network gear look tidy. It's simple to put in and connect.
Everyone was in perfect working order and fit in perfectly.
I discovered an off-the-beaten path. If you're putting one of these up against an existing wall, set design can be tricky. box with a lot of straight lines via pre-existing keystone jacks It may be possible to position the inside connection near existing jacks. However, this is a minor quibble that can be resolved by rearranging the keystone jacks as needed.
It works perfectly, and I had no trouble installing it in my existing wall plates. I already had all of the tools I needed to crimp RJ45 cables, so I didn't have to buy any. I ran speed tests on my gigabit network and received excellent results, so these clearly do their job. I was using Cat5E cable, so I can't comment on CAT6, but I'm sure it'll work just as well.
Unplug if necessary, then use the ones that have a push pin to connect the Cat 5 to the terminals. Much less difficult for me.
