For presentations, I use this with my 2012 MacBook Pro to connect to a TV screen at my desk or to connect to a monitor at my desk. As well as that, I have an AmazonBasics dongle that I use. I will of all, I should point out the good quality of the metallic construction and the braided wire cable of this dongle. Aside from being more durable, it is also more compact than most other dongles, as the connector is exactly the same size as the head of an HDMI cable, even though the AmazonBasics dongle is more than three times larger than that. The reason I docked one star is, while I never had any problems using this monitor with the monitor at my desk, I've noticed it's prone to having problems with HDMI cables, and when I use it on my television for presentations, I don't have the best experience. My AmazonBasics dongle sometimes drops out during a presentation, so I blame the poor quality HDMI cable, but I have also had several instances when the signal wasn't there and when I switched to the AmazonBasics dongle, I was able to see the picture. As a result, there is a possibility of this dongle for failing to work well when using someone else's HDMI cable and equipment. However, due to its superior build quality and minimalist design, I still recommend this adapter, especially if you are using your own equipment and HDMI cord.
