Questions & Answers

Currently, I have only two USB ports connected to my monitor. Is there anything you can suggest? What kind of sound does it stream? What are the differences between this and Google Chromecast?

Nothing to worry about. Typically, your monitor has so many hdmi ports that you only need one. In order to plug this up to a usb port, you can either purchase an extension cord with a built-in usb port or use a plug with a usb connector. In order to operate the device, it uses the usb port to supply power, so the method of connecting it is irrelevant. There is no WiFi connection required, instead it casts directly from your device to the TV or monitor. Yes, it streams sound as well as video, and it differs from Chromecast because it connects to your device without using the internet. Thank you for reading. I hope you find it helpful.

As far as I know, I do not have internet access I do not have internet access at home. If I use this device & only have access to my cell phone signal, can I stream Netflix from my phone to my tv?

Netflix, Youtube, Facebook, and games on your phone can be streamed to your TV through this device, but always keep these things in mind If you have a smart phone, the "Smart View" feature is essential.

I change the SSID (the name of the wifi device) of this device? I want each device name to match the name of the conference room where it is ?

It is necessary for you to download the Microsoft wireless display adapter app from the Windows store first, then you can use the application to change the

The iPhone 6 is compatible with the app?

Due to the lack of Miracast support in Apple products such as the Mac, iPhone, and iPad, MWDA cannot be used as well.

I have been able to get it to work on some devices, but not on all of them
3/5

With this dongle, I can use my Android cellphones and my friend's Windows 8 PC without any problem. Currently, one laptop is available for purchase. I have not been able to get it to work on my Surface Pro 4 I am frustrated that a Microsoft-sponsored event in Finland can't be held in Finland A hardware dongle made by Seagate does not work with Microsoft-based computers The company makes hardware running the Microsoft operating system It is a great piece of software if it works with an LG model A cell phone with Google-based operating system was made It is software that is made. As long as Microsoft is unable to fix the problems preventing Windows 10 from properly connecting to their own hardware, I am not able to recommend purchasing this. Please consult P. Two tech support representatives from Microsoft have already helped me with this and none of the troubleshooting steps (reboot computer, reinstall network driver, reinstall video driver, open Windows Defender firewall) have worked.

When it says what it will do, it does it
5/5

My current computer has been sitting here for a while. Casting video at high resolution is not possible. You will see that what appears on your TV is 'choppy, jerky, etc. As far as I can tell, no device like this supports 1080p resolution. Despite what you might see in casting ads, you shouldn't believe them. It is a crap shoot when it comes to 720p, but most of the time it casts. Usually, the smaller or lower resolving the video, the more likely it will be to cast. Firstly, putting little stock in what advertisements have to say about casting what you see on your media device or computer to your TV is a mistake. The process of setting up 'Casting' is not easy, fun, or reliable, but it can be accomplished. Summarizing, I would like to say that- If you want a unit to support Apple devices, Windows devices, Android devices, or both, you can either get one that supports any of those devices, or one that tries to handle them all. Casting from a recent video can be done using the device A Windows device must be the current version. In order to use the device, you need to plug one end into the HDMI port of your TV and the other end (for power) into the TV USB port. If neither of these are available close together, you have some trouble setting it With the charging unit, you also have the option to use a longer USB cable to connect to an electric outlet if you only have an HDMI port. If you only have a USB power unit, you could do the same by plugging a longer USB cable in to that. Are you sure the range is correct? If you think back to the days before mobile phones, you will see how they differ from what we have today. It is possible to lose the signal if you walk out of the room, or stand directly next to a 'noise' source like a hair dryer, room heater, or refrigerator. The rule is As a general rule, try to remain within about 20 feet of your TV and do not move too There are no instructions given with it except that which is displayed on the screen. The setup is simple, but there is no documentation. Changing the input on your TV to the HDMI port on the unit is a simple task, and no complicated steps are required. If you want to use other devices with Windows Miracast, you may connect them using any Windows device that supports Miracast. (Search the Internet for more information. You'll need to have a computer with wireless connectivity turned on in order to cast from a computer. If you use a 'wired' connection, wireless connectivity may not be available. You will also need to learn how to set your display to duplicate rather than extended mode by default. Taking note of this information will be critical since you might need to remove and reinstall a Miracast device Adding it between uses is the best option. Overall, the unit lives up to its advertised specifications. From my PC (close to my TV), I can see an excellent media picture. Although it is a decent second monitor, it does not work well because my wireless mouse is lagging when moving. You must do that as part of the casting art. If you don't get what you want after trying multiple devices, you may need to try another. When using it on a TV screen, it is impossible to use because of the mouse lag. It may be better to use another mouse. I have no problem using my wireless keyboard. My satisfaction with this unit is now 100% since I got it specifically and only to cast media. There are many negative reviews you see for casting devices, and I'm sure it's because people are not understanding the casting process, where they buy for too cheap, expecting too much, or don't know how to set the units up (they all come with lousy instructions). You shouldn't also buy one that requires you to push a button on it to change modes, such as this unit. As soon as it's installed on a TV, it's not You can control this unit using an app that is available for download from the Microsoft Store however, unless you have a Windows phone, this unit doesn't require anything more than what you find in your Windows 10 operating system. Casting units are cheaper, and many of them claim to support multiple modes of operation (Apple, Android, I chose the Miracast device because it is compatible with both Android and Windows, so I can control it directly using my computer, which runs Windows 10. It is not always true that Miracast devices support Windows, or support it so adequately, or are not very good at it. The recommendation I make? Buying cheap is a bad idea. It's not a good idea to get a device that says it can Make sure the one you get is specialized to your device, and do not expect one to work on every device. My recommendation for those casting from a Windows 10 computer to a television would be to get this unit. There is no Windows phone in my household, and I am too cheap to get a smartphone of any kind In the It would be ideal if you had a tablet or line phone with enough memory and processing power to try it.

Perfect for those who do not have access to home WiFi
5/5

I have grandparents who don't have cable TV or home internet, only a standard antenna and a couple of channels at most. In any case, they do have a Samsung Note 5, and they are familiar with YouTube, Netflix, etc. This adapter works great It is easy to set up and does not necessitate a local wifi network like chromecasts or Amazon firesticks. I found it to be as simple as plugging in Connecting the Note 5 to the TV and activating screen mirroring are the next steps. Their videos and other media can now be viewed on the big screen without any problem. In addition, we like the fact that this adapter does not require you to have a home wifi network to use it It's all in the name of selling you paid content on their devices, like all of the other adapters I bought. This is the only reason why a wifi network is required. The wireless devices transmit and receive data wirelessly. They act as a "bridge" between the device and the phone/adapter. Those other devices were simply selling you profitable movies and TV shows to sell you more so they could continue to make money off of you. My high recommendation for this simple adapter and I will be purchasing one for myself to use with my Note 8 comes highly recommended.

The following information is essential if you use a Surface or other Windows 10 device in the classroom
5/5

ii) from Windows 10 tablets and phones. If you have a smart television, projector or monitor that has an HDMI port, you can project from it. Since it connects to an HDMI port, you can use it with anything that has one. The USB part, well, you don't actually need it to be plugged into the device to which it will be projected. Power is provided by the USB port With the use of a mobile phone portable charger, you can power the projector! In my workplace, I will be using this to project to students (I'm a teacher), and I will be using the drawing capabilities of the Surface Book 2 to enhance my presentations. The wireless connection is much better than the wired one. Using this tool, I'll be able to walk around the class looking at people's work as well as display things on the This is incredible.

Overall, the new app is far superior to the old one, but it could use a few more features
4/5

During my 200+ hours configuring and deploying this adapter, I have found it to be a vast improvement over the original Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter, though I cannot say that it is perfect.
Pros Using this as an extended desktop will no longer result in blocky images or constant refreshing. Moreover, frame rate is much more smooth than with the original adapter. With this great new monitor, users are now able to display most web browser content, presentations, slide shows, and 24fps movie content from any web browser (more on these As a side (Utilizing this with the 4k HDMI upscaling hardware works perfectly. As of now, it is the closest you can get to a simple wireless 4K HDMI solution for less than $400. It's for my upscaler with a projector and I bought another one of these. Cons )

You will only be able to watch in My Galaxy Note 9 and other devices screen mirror at 97 frames per second, so playing 30p content (such as YouTube) skims one frame every couple of seconds, which I can tell is noticeable because it skips a single frame every couple of seconds. In contrast, watching standard 24p movies works very well, with only a few frame skips during a whole The following are other thoughts I have It would be helpful to Microsoft if we had the ability to disable the default audio streaming to the display adapter. This could free up enough bandwidth to help eliminate these 0 processes. For a 30fps video content, there is a stuttering of 03 frames per second.
