Laptop and Notebook Computer Combo Lock - This is the one I ordered from Amazon to go with the anchor plate: High Quality Lock with Sturdy Thick Black Cable (6mm Thick, 6ft Long)br> It worked, but it was a bit of a squeeze.
It's about 1 3/4" x 2" if you're referring to the base. It's about 1 1/2" x 1 3/4" if you're referring to the plate that covers the screws.
One is included in my package.
If my memory serves me correctly, it screws into the desk or table, then the top piece hides the screws before the cable is fed through.

anchor! In a concrete wall, I needed an anchor for my Kenton Clicksafe lock. Kensington's anchor is designed to be used with a desk. You can either glue it (don't put too much pressure on it) or use wooden screws. I have no sense of security because I am sitting at a small wooden table. It would be possible to hang the original Kensington on the wall, but you still have access to the screws, which means a burglar could easily unscrew it. Unless you begin with 1, that is. way or "abnormal" screws, but they're either too costly - If necessary, you will find it difficult or impossible to remove yourself. This is where the anchor comes in. br>br> When you thread the kensington cable through the hole, you can no longer move the small metal plate. Of course, you can bend it or pull it out with brute force, but the point is to make it as difficult as possible. The more effort it takes, the better. br>br>Please note that the kensington clicksafe cable will not fit through the hook. Unless the plastic plastic is moved away from it. The hook can then be slid into place. part of the way through, then slide the plastic in - and then reposition the plastic over the metal part. br>br>Ordered 2 of them and paid for international shipping. transport - Everything was fine; I wanted to order three more after trying it, but it's no longer possible because it's been changed to a "filler item" - forcing me to spend at least $25 (which, first and foremost, I don't have any other items to order and, second, will exceed the import-tax limit). I'd expect it to be possible this week if it was possible last week - especially since the shipping was paid for by me. This has resulted in a one-star deduction.
I wish it had fit because the base appears to be of good quality. It would have been sufficient to secure my laptop to my desk. I liked that it has a cover plate that covers the screws, preventing the cover from being lifted to access the screws if a cable is threaded through the base's opening. My ThinkPad X1 Carbon has a lock port that only the Kensington MicroSaver 2 works with. Lenovo's 0 Cable Lock is compatible with. Although the cable is flexible and compact, the loop is too large to fit through the base's opening. Although it is not the product's fault, I wish the opening dimensions had been included in the description. This additional information would have prevented the purchase (and subsequent return) of my cable lock, which is apparently not the only one that doesn't fit. Otherwise, I believe it is deserving of 5 stars.
Strength? TBD. According to the reviews, Amazon is sending a non-returnable item. I assumed they were wrong because it was a Targus product. However, I recently received three of them, and they are not at all like the ones in the picture. Although the ring is not as thick as the one shown, it is double the size, so I'm not sure if they're as strong. I'll try to get an exchange for Targus products if that doesn't work out, but if that doesn't work out, I'll stick with these and see how they work out. (Instead of using the sticky pads provided, I'll use my Epoxy glue. ) Screws will be used as well, through the holes provided. Screws are included, but there are only 5 of them. 6) It should have been.
As shown in the instructions, the baseplate cover has no way of hooking onto the anchor. It's mostly useless, so it just sits there. I'm not sure if this is a defect in my unit or a problem with the product as a whole.
Although the adhesive can complete the task on its own, the included screws are recommended for maximum security. The only reason I bought one on its own was to use the adhesive rather than the screws to attach it to a "temporary" desk at work. Later, I tried to pry it off, but it wouldn't budge. So I went out and bought a new one.
Metal appears to be tough and durable. The included screws are too short to keep it in place if someone pulls really hard on it (unless it's screwed into metal). The outside plate that covers the screws does not snap securely in place and hangs loosely.
The foam tape on this thing is the Achilles heel, according to other reviews, and it is, indeed. I spent some time peeling/scraping/dissolving it off (use acetone to get the rest), and then I used some kind of epoxy to glue this jerk down, and it's not going anywhere! I'm relieved to know that my belongings will be safe from a hasty snatch.
It works great; don't waste your time with the adhesive; instead, use wood screws (I used longer ones than they provided) and the structure will be extremely strong. No one will be deterred by that adhesive strip.
