Product Description

Introducing WiFi 2.0: A better WiFi experience in all directions with faster WiFi speeds and a strong WiFi signal to cover your entire home is what you'll enjoy with Deco Mesh.
Coverage greater than with traditional A mesh network created by three Decor S4 units can cover up to 5,500 square feet of space with ease. Dead zones are no longer an issue.
Adding WiFi mesh to your business is seamless and stable: With Deco S4, you don't need multiple network names and passwords to roam throughout your house. With just one network name and password, you can access the internet seamlessly throughout the home.
Up to 100 devices can be connected to the deco's AC1200 speeds thanks to its incredibly fast speeds.
A single network name is given to the unified network as a result of Deco Mesh Technology. As you move around the home, the devices switch between Decos to ensure maximum performance
The following features provide robust parental controls: Each member of your family can be assigned a unique profile that limits their online time and blocks inappropriate websites. Staying safe online can be easy when you have children.
It is easy to set up the Deco app on your Android or iOS device. You can turn on or off guest WiFi with the Alexa voice command.
Technology for connectivity: It's an Internet connection

Questions & Answers

Can I set this up better with the to-link1750 and extender I have? Is it possible that the extender occasionally loses the single signal?

Despite the fact that having an extender will allow you to connect much further, your speed will always be halved. The function of an extender is quite simply to extend the range, not to increase the speed of transmission. Range extenders, on the other hand, will definitely allow connections from further away, but they always cut your speed exactly in half... So it appears as though they will improve your speed, but they are really just protecting you from loss of connection. The function of an extender is quite simply to extend the range, not to increase the speed of transmission. The range extension, however, can prevent dropouts, giving the illusion of speed increase, though the speeds are always half (and it takes longer to extend the range). As opposed to this, a Mesh system is actually two (or more) routers that you place at two different points, and so your speed does not lose half at the beginning. Full speed has been reached. Due to the fact that your computer (or wifi TV or doorbell etc.) is closer to one of the 2 (or more) mesh spots, you will also have shorter range, and are less likely to have dropouts. Likewise, the closer your device (computer, laptop, etc.) is to the router, the higher the chance that the internet speed will be (for example on the ookla site). You can still use your old router with an extender. It is actually a mesh system of two or more routers (there is no way for your old router to work with it). As part of the mesh system, routers are included. A router (such as your old one), the extender(s), and your modem are the necessary components of an extender. Using a mesh system, all you need is a modem and the mesh system. The router can be used without a separate device (since it is integrated).

Do you know of a separate modem I can buy that supports the Spectrum telephone service? I want this mesh system but also need a modem that supports my phone service. ?

I am a former Spectrum internet/phone tech support agent, and I can tell you that you cannot use a modem to use the phone service. You can purchase an MTA (phone modem) for hundreds of dollars, but you cannot use it for the phone service. PH... As a former Spectrum tech support representative, I can tell you it isn't possible to use a modem for phone service. Of course, you can buy an MTA (phone modem) for hundreds of dollars extra, but it doesn't work for phone service. In order to maintain network security, phones must be connected through a modem owned by the company.

Can Wyze cameras be used with this? Is it possible for them not to connect with you?

You will be able to do so. By using the 2, Wyze uses the 2.0. These will support the 2 Ghz spectrum, not the 4 Ghz spectrum. The 4 and 5 GHz range

It is important to maintain security
3/5

Mesh units cover the whole house well, so we are very happy with the mesh unit Nevertheless, security encryption is POORIin an environment where everyone is on the WiFi, I do not want this on OUR WiFi for the simple reason that TKIP encryption is only broken We do not need this on OUR WiFi because it does not support WPA AES encryption This product does NOT support WP3, which is a 2020 standard In terms of support, it is also not available in either of the two versions 5 GHz or 4 GHz channel options are available There is no way to change the Deco if it picks poorly and neighbors interfere with it The support team has been aware of this and the issue with AES since 2019 but has not acted on it to every engineering issue is always "We will pass the information along " Because the router is an iOS app, it cannot be configured locally or through a web interface Apple's latest iOS version (iOS 14) and MacOS will now report this product as having Weak Security The entire DECO line is an orphan product, regardless of model If you are looking for coverage it is great, but security and support may not be your priority

The S4 MESH 3-Pack did exactly what it was advertised to do

I highly recommend it App that is the best WiFi app I have ever used The systems are still working well, according to an update from January 2021 The WIFI status indicator light on the Deco is-- unfortunately-- facing up Because it's up high on a cabinet, I am not able to see the status light Furthermore, I do not enjoy it being loose and sliding around on my cabinet, which I move periodically to clean To secure it to the wall, I used a $3 angle bracket and a 3" screw A cable zip tie in 5 by 5 75 inch size from Home Depot, from the cable section My photos can be seen here To protect the finish on the deco from being scratched, I covered the metal angle bracket with white electrical tape It is now more visible on my right hand side when I enter the room because the indicator light is horizontal Additionally, I think it looks nice to have it secured horizontally on the wall [S4 Deco 3-pack, April 2020] My 2600 ft2 house is wide on one side and long on the other Half of it is a 1949 "Lustron" kit home with all steel metal walls and ceilings In past years, I have tried numerous routers and extenders with brand name WiFi and had problems, dead areas, no Internet, etc I have had to reboot my routers and extenders frequently The S4 Deco Mesh WiFi system allows you to connect every room in the house to a WIFI signal of 5 bars or better I found it the easiest to set up as well With an easy to use Smartphone App, you can do everything you need to I've been much happier than expected with this product We are no longer dealing with stalled Internet, routers, router extenders, etc No more leaving my desktop to boot up the routers, extenders, and user interfaces to manually enter SSIs and passwords on complex clumsy software It will be my birthday in a few weeks when I throw out my old Wi-Fi routers and extenders A guest can easily create, turn off, rename, change the PIN for WiFi on the go your Deco needs are at your fingertips with the Deco app My desktop is no longer cluttered with control panels For large and complex homes, TP Link has opened up a whole new generation of trouble-free Wi-Fi that is easy to install, priced reasonably and doesn't require a lot of maintenance It would be great if I could thank the TP Link engineers personally for saving my family and I so much bother A year of wireless trouble and aggravation is gone after an installation last Tuesday that took only one hour

WiFi coverage is great, it's easy to install, and it's very convenient

After moving during the pandemic, we suddenly had to accommodate 4 children and 2 adults who needed to connect to the Internet at the same time We had around 30 devices connected at the same time As an alternative to our combined router/cable modem/wifi, we replaced it with a separate Arris Surfboard cable modem and merged our wifi throughout our home with this option setup, we had frequent drops of wireless connection, and even when we were in the basement with the wifi, we were unable to make video calls setting it up, it now works seamlessly across 3 floors and our loft in a nearly 8000 square foot home The fence extended even into the backyard I was expecting to need more than three, but it ended up working out Our prior issue was possibly a mix-up between the router/modem and the wifi, and the fact that we had two tons of devices connected at the same time (I can directly connect an ethernet cable and work fine, so it wasn't our Internet) I like how easy it is to use and how much information it provides Although I haven't played around with the parental controls or QOS features yet, I was surprised by the existence of those features A device can be turned on or off with just a few clicks Despite being a smart product, installation was simple and straightforward (most are these days) Highly recommended It is not necessary to go for a more expensive model

I like how fast this works, and how well it covers

Whenever I tried to connect to an Amazon Eero mesh router, I always got "connected, no internet" problems because I suspect the router would not assign an IP address to any connected devices This happened with iOS, Mac and Windows My Ring doorbell and webcam would also not connect with the router --perhaps because these devices are 2; maybe since they are Internet-connected devices There is only a 4 ghz on the eero, but it does have both a 5 ghz and two ghz I can't figure out what was wrong as I only have a 4 ghz network (from searching the internet, I know I wasn't the only one having trouble connecting the ring to the Eero for some reason) Following some more research, I bought this product from tp-link, and both of the problems I had with Eero disappeared We are really pleased with the coverage and the speed Eero setup is similar to the Eero It is true that the form factor and app of eero are more polished, but that is not enough to replace the tp-link router's fantastic functionality and InstantConnection looking at mesh routers, you might want to pay more attention to those made by companies with a long history in the networking industry, like Netgear (Orbi) and TP-Link as opposed to amazon's (Eero) and Google's (Nest) It took Apple two years to get out of networking I have one small point--if you power cycle the router and modem (hey, sometimes you have to), make sure you disconnect the Ethernet between the modem and the router as well, not just the power source
