Questions & Answers

Are there any issues connecting to a router, and does that work perfectly or do you need to replace your router?

The IoGear manual is obsolete and so the instructions are pretty useless, so see my answers to other questions here for details on configuring. I use these with a Netgear FVS 336G and a Cisco RV345P router and they work fine.

Do you have DYMO label printers (400, 450) compatible with it?

With Macs and PCs running Mac OS Sierra, I am using this device over a network. The Windows 6 and Windows 7 pro and the Windows 10 in a sentence or two. of this works fine, but getting the print server configured with a static IP address is an issue for Macs, only due to poor documentation, so here are some tips. Tips for configuring the print server (Mac and PC) *br>Before following these instructions, you will need to make sure that the print server is connected to your network and it is Despite the fact that the user manual provides sufficient details on how to set up the software, it does not go into enough depth. It gets its IP address from your router or cable modem using DHCP (distributed by your router or cable modem). There is a problem with this in that the address is not fixed and can change, causing your printing to cease This means that the IP address of the server must be static (fixed). Upon connecting the print server to your network and turning it on, your router or cable modem will assign it a random IP address. If you type in this address, it will be the correct one. In that case, you can check the configuration of your router or modem IP addresses are listed somewhere in the settings of your computer. ) (If this is too technical for you, get someone who knows about computers to do it. If you want the IP address to remain the same, you can make that change in the print server configuration. The process for setting up a fixed IP address on a PC is quite straightforward - you simply follow the instructions for setting one during installation, and enter the device's The IOGear installer does not work on Macs therefore, you are required to set up the static IP address in a browser by entering the device's current IP address that you obtained from the router or modem configuration. By clicking that link, the print server's settings will be displayed. The TCP/IP setting should be changed from "Automatic" to "Manual" by clicking on the "TCP/IP" link If you enter "" then you will be able to enter the Subnet masks and gateway addresses should already be there, but if they're not, you can find them in your router's settings or the Mac OS network control panel (Apple Menu). The System Preferences page can be found by clicking here Using the network). By clicking the Save icon at the bottom of the screen, you will save the selections. As soon as you've set the printer's IP address to fixed, you can add the device as you would any other printer via the Mac OS Printers &amp Scanners app. Control panel for scanning devices. Select the Apple menu at the bottom of the screen The System Preferences page can be found by clicking here The following topics apply to printers and copy machines They are scanners. To install IOGear, follow the instructions in the installation instructions and enter the server's fixed IP address in the "Address" field. In IOGear, you are instructed to enter this value in the "" field. It may be necessary to set up port forwarding (port 631 and 9100 for this printer) in order to allow the printer's data packets to travel across your network if you have a VPN router or modem. When you have a router and aren't sure what this means, get a techie to do this IF your printer doesn't work after all other setup steps have been completed.

What's the compatibility of this device with the hp laser jet pro cm 1415 fn color multifunction printer?

Thanks so much, this is the best print server I have seen so far. The product has worked well since its installation and is incredibly easy to use It has been years since I stopped working in multiple offices. The printer you have is a new model and is not listed in the list of verified compatible printers, so I am unable to provide a 100% guarantee it will work. I'm quite sure it will work without regard to that, since the list isn't finite In addition, there are dozens of newer printers not listed above that may In order to give a comparable dimension, I use a new Oki laser pen A large Canon photo copier can also be used to print the photos. There are two printers on the system, both of which are listed but do not This is the print server I would recommend. Hope you are successful.

I have just received an update The 22nd of May 2016 As a result, i am dropping the review from 4 stars to 2 stars after using this for a few months. In my opinion, it's a lost cause. There is no way to trust it. Once you set it up, it works. Then you stop using it. Putting it back on after it has been removed and reinstalled makes it work It doesn't go away with a reboot. A reboot of the printer will not fix the problem. is necessary to uninstall and reinstall the program for it to work Despite the fact that I write this, it is still on the table across from me. The garbage can next to the table may be the next stop. As soon as you get it configured, it works nicely. On Windows 10, the installation software that was included on the disc as well as the more recent version that I found on the manufacturer's website didn't function. Yet you really aren't in need of To begin with, make sure that the printer's drivers are installed on any machine you plan on using the printer on. In order to install a printer without it, connect the printer to the print server, connect the network cable, and plug in the power supply. By using DHCP, the device will be assigned an IP address. It should have a static IP address so you can determine its address (to do this, check the DHCP table in your router). Set the IP address of the print server to static on the setup page by opening a browser and entering the IP address of the print server. Click "Add a Printer" in the Control Panel, and then open "Devices and Printers". You will find the printer you are looking for in the "Not in the list" list. Ensure that "Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or host name" is selected. The device type should be left at AutoDetect, and the IP address of the Print Server needs to be entered. Then select the Generic Network Card option if it hasn't already been Make sure the driver is installed on your printer and then select it. It should be fine for you now.

You can install Mac OS on your computer
5/5

It was a little difficult for me to figure out how to I could not figure it out at first, but once I did, it worked like a charm! It is great to not have to hook up my label printer to my computer and to be able to print from multiple locations, and I am using it with my Dymo 4XL Label Printer. For the Mac, I found the manual and instructions confusing and outdated (to mention not being updated at all). The steps I took to set up it were From the GPSU21, I connect directly to my router via Ethernet. The Dymo 4XL is connected to the GPSU21 via USB. *By going to the router's website (found on the label of my router), I was able to find the IP address the printer was assigned. The default IP address on my router is different than the default IP address on the device. Go to the Printers and Scanners tab in System Preferences If you want to add a printer to your scanners, please click the plus sign. You can do this from the Add menu by clicking If you received the IP address from your router, enter it in the "Address" field. Please fill out this The HP Jetdirect product is what I selected You may have to install the Dymo drivers if you do not have them installed (both can be done from the Dymo website). Select the Protocol as Socket in the Use field. Select the program you wish to use from the list. Select Add from the menu. You are able to print through your wireless connection, too!.

It is simple to set up Set up and install on a Windows 10 computer and HP LaserJet 1320 printer
5/5

It is simple to set up Set up and install on a Windows 10 computer and HP LaserJet 1320 printer. As far as installation was concerned, it was fairly simple. You know what it is like to install or set-up In the event that you have already set up a network printer, this instructions booklet won't even be necessary. It was also possible to install the software easily despite not having an installation CD. While the booklet was a bit technical for beginners, it was very detailed and easy to understand. Throughout the process, the guide walks you through all the steps. These are some tips to help you Make sure that the computer that will be accessing the newly networked printer already has the printer's driver software installed. If you wish to run the installation CD, make sure the print server is powered on before you start it. This ensures that the printer is connected to the print server device, and that the printer is connected to the network.

Following installation, it is provided with its own IP address by the DHCP function of the networking By entering its internal IP address in your browser after learning its IP address, you can browse to it. This enables you to access more internal configuration options (xxx) within the application. In addition, you can reassign the IP address, subnet mask, and gateway if necessary for your particular network and change the device's name (as it appears on the network), or create a password for it. I had no need to contact their tech support, so I'm not in a position to comment on the level of support they provided. In any case. As part of the packaging, there is a big print card with information on how to contact technical support (US and international phone numbers, live chat, email, knowledge base, etc. ) as well as a reassuring message to please contact us if you need help. As a result, I am extremely pleased with the item and will certainly order it again if necessary. ". There is no better way to spend your time. According to my experience with this item, I would prefer to use a product by IOGEAR.

Persistently work on it and it will come to you
4/5

If you set it up correctly you will be pleased with the results. I would give this device five stars since it works perfectly once it is configured. It's all about the setup that causes the difficulty. A retired IT manager, I don't give up easily, so being unable to install a product does not suit me well. The manual simply does not describe how to install it. Windows 10 would reach the first phase of installation, but it would not identify any print servers because they are not listed in the installation manual, so you cannot proceed Having gone into Safe Mode several times, I was eventually able to progress beyond the first screen and actually search for an actual print server (this one). It was not possible for the app to identify the print server in Safe Mode, even when it was connected to a network. When I disconnected our Internet connection, I was told that the Firewalls should be disabled. I did that. As a result of switching from Safe Mode to Windows 10 and back again, there appeared a desktop icon containing the name It was obviously part of the installation, yet on no account was it mentioned in any In short, it allows you to bypass any Firewall settings that might exist at the time (we were not connected to the Comcast modem and did not know there would be one). In turn, the computer was able to connect to the printer right away (my wife's computer would not). Do you know if it works? I agree with you! You'll have to put in some work to get it to work, won't you? Yes, you bet!.
