It's a perfect match for UDM- Comcast 1 is connected to a Pro SFP WAN
5/5

Two-gigabyte service via two-gigabyte service via two-gigabyte Cable modem with 5 Gigabit Ethernet (Gigabit Ethernet). To connect my Motorola MB8611 DOCSIS 3. 0 modem, I tried a more expensive SFP to RJ45 module. 1 Multi- I bought this module, plugged it into the SFP WAN port, moved my ethernet cable from the RJ45 1gbe WAN port to the RJ45 port on the module, and restarted the cable modem, and in a matter of minutes, I was seeing the 1. When you sign up for Comcast's 1. 25 gigabit internet, you can usually expect 35 gbps download speeds. In addition, it does not appear to get very hot, whereas the aforementioned module did. Even so, I attached a small heatsink to it and installed a fan next to the UDM-II. Because my current setup isn't ideal due to a lack of temperature control in the room, I'm leaning toward the WAN option.

Aquantia 10gbe with Xg16
5/5

It went to work right away. I have a lot of ubiquity gear, and I'm always wary of using off-brand networking adapters, especially SFPs, because they can be finicky. br>br>I must admit, I was pleasantly surprised. I'm using a Ubiquiti UniFi XG-based network. It negotiated right away with a 16 and an Aquantia 10gbe adapter. br>br>During my remodel, I ran some cat6a and installed an aquantia 10gbe adapter in a computer I wanted to access more quickly, but the switch's 10gbe ports could only communicate with it at 1gb. Sad. A known issue with the previous XG- 16 (I have rev 6), so I figured I'd try this less expensive option to rule out the adapter or the cable runs. br>br>It's definitely a switch issue. This worked right away when I used it in an AFP port. I'm blown away. If you need more baseT, this is a must-have for anyone who owns an XG.

It's perfect for two people
4/5

5Gbe. On the other hand, the SFP port's egress rate must be limited. If the egress limits on your switch port are set to 2, you can use it. 5 Gigabits per second or 5 Gigabits per second, whichever comes first. With your 2nd, you should have a lot of luck. There are five ethernet ports, each with a speed of five gigabits per second. Otherwise, take iperf measurements and pay attention to the iperf traffic direction before celebrating. br>br>My motherboard is a Gigabyte Aorus AM4 ITX with a RealTek 2. When connected to my Ubiquiti XG-1000, the 5G port becomes available. The ethernet ports on the 16br>switch, on the other hand, negotiate at a maximum of 1Gbps. This transceiver came up in my search as being able to support the full 2. 5Gbe. br>br>I plugged it in and it appeared to work perfectly. It appears to the switch as a 10Gbe SFP link, but it appears to Windows as a 2. A 5Gbe connection is available. Transferring large files appeared to be a success as well. Between 80 and 100 130MB/s. It's not great, but it'll do. br>br>However, running iperf3 exposed a major flaw in my setup. On the same switch, my NAS (ReadyNas 626X with 10Gbe ethernet) ran iperf3 in server mode (iperf3 - iperf3 - iperf3 - iperf3 - iperf3 - iperf3 - iperf3 - iperf s) while it was running in client mode on the PC (iperf3 - This scored a solid 2 out of 5 stars. 37Gbit/s. Isn't it fantastic? Large file transfers in use, on the other hand, felt worse than they did with my 1Gbe connection. The NAS has a xeon processor, so it can easily handle the 10Gbit speeds required for iperf3 (I have a 5950x on my PC, which is a beast): On my network, I tested it with another 10Gbe machine. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that I had misunderstood something. br>br> The iperf server isn't actually serving anything! Data is sent to the server by the iperf client. I need to use '-' to start the client (PC). To make the client consume data (switch data into the transeiver), use the R' flag. br>br>As a result, traffic from PC - > Transciever - a device that sends and receives data. > XG16 - > The NAS was able to process all of the data at full speed. Traffic from NAS is 37Gbit/sbr> > XG16 - > Transciever - a device that sends and receives data. > PC was a dreadful 200th place finisher. 600Mbit/s with a large number of retries br>Iperf3 gives me 970MBit/s with 0 retries if I remove the transceiver and switch to the automatic 1Gbit downgrade (with egress limiting). This transceiver is a far better option. br>br>At this point, the general diagnosis appears to be that the switch is pushing packets too fast for the port to handle, and that a large number of packets are being dropped, slowing everything down. The solution appears to be to enable egress rate limiting on the port, which tells the switch that even though the SFP port negotiates at 10Gbits, outgoing traffic should be limited to 2Gbits. 5Gbit/s. Ubiquiti, on the other hand, does not allow egress rate limiting of more than 1Gbit/s in their wisdom: on a switch with a 10Gbit interface! Why! Gah! br>br>So there you have it: Check that your switch can handle egress limits at the reduced speed you want to use for your 10G connection. Even better, get a Mellanox ConnectX-based switch. 3 if a PCI slot is available.

Although the link rate and transmit speeds are as advertised, the receive speeds are unacceptable (check the switch configuration)
5/5

I bought it to connect to a two-way radio. (RT8156 chipset) USB ethernet adapter with 5 GB of bandwidth. The transmit speeds were excellent, and the link speed was correct. Only 600 mbps could be received. Even with a 1Gb ethernet connection, I was only able to receive 600 mbps on this transceiver. Iperf3 was used to run all of the tests. I'm returning this device in exchange for one from a different manufacturer that should have a better 1/2 ratio. I tested this on two different switches and got the same result. br>br>Edit - I received support for 5/5 Gb. br>br> The receive rate issue was solved by enabling egress rate limiting on the port within the switch, so I increased the rating to 5 stars. Previously, the switch would simply spam the sfp adapter at 10Gbps, but now the switch is limiting it. The sfp module should, in theory, connect to the switch at the same time as the client device, but it doesn't.

It's compatible with UDM Pro and 2
5/5

Ethernet modem with a speed of 5 Gigabits per second. Spectrum currently provides gigabit (940mbps) service, which is currently over-subscribed. provisioned with a value of 1. 2 Gbps. In my UDM Pro, this module worked flawlessly and required no configuration. Spectrum modems (EU2251 and ET2251, the latter of which I recently discarded - yay! ) is set to auto-negotiate at a rate of two. UDM shows a link with a speed of 5 Gbps. Overall, I'm very pleased with it. br>br>It runs a little hot, but not hot enough to cause burns, as other reviewers have mentioned.

My Cisco SG500X-based router is performing admirably
5/5

I have a Marvel AQtion 10Gbit network port built into my computer's motherboard, and I'm planning on getting a NAS with a 10Gbit port, so I figured now would be a good time to use my switch's 10 Gbit capabilities. I ordered this SFP 10Gbe module, plugged it in, and used a CAT 7 cable to connect it to my computer, and I was up and running at 10Gbits! I won't know how fast this thing is until I get my NAS, but I've been able to transfer at 2Gbps speeds so far, thanks to the fact that my other server has NIC teaming and can transfer at 2Gbps. br>br>It gets a little warm to the touch, a little over 112 F according to my measurements, but it's not hot.

Copper SFP is a fantastic product
5/5

This little guy came in handy when I needed copper for a Synology NAS. In my MikroTik CRS305, it works perfectly. 4S with blazingly fast speeds.
