Questions & Answers

The UAP function works with this application Why not?

That's right. A 802.11a to a 433a is converted in this way To power a device that requires 24V passive PoE power like the (older) AC-based PoE devices, plug a 3af PoE port into the switch A few lites. Ubiquiti has announced they are moving away from passive PoE in the UniFi line, and AC is moving into the UniFi line The new 802.11ac standard is included on Lite APs manufactured after September 2016. Compatibility with the ThreeAF protocol. If you're looking to purchase a new air conditioner, make sure that you In terms of the lite, I would wait until you get it to see if it's new stock.

Is this a conversion from passive 802.0 to passive This is 3AF. If I use a passive poe switch with an IP camera, for instance, could I use it?

There's no way, it goes the other way. A 802.11 conversion is performed by this program. The older Unifi devices used passive 24v power supply instead of 3AF.

Would it be possible to extend a run using this method? We are looking at installing some cameras closer to 200 feet from the switch, which is further than the 150 foot limit for 24 volt. ?

There is no need to extend the cable run with this. It facilitates powering devices powered by passive POE by a new switch that can only be powered by 802.11, which only allows devices controlled by passive POE to use. This protocol follows the 3F standard.

This will not damage my Nanostation M5, correct? Is it possible to use this with my PoE switch?

You are right, it is

My mistake was buying the Switch 8 thinking that I would be able to power my UAC I thought they ran on 24v poe, but apparently they don't. A voltage change is achieved with this. My original intention was to avoid purchasing another POE injector, but it turns out I had to get a new one The price is too high, but it We appreciate you taking the time to read.

The solution is simple and The power is supplied by a normal 48V PoE switch to an older Unifi AP
5/5

All of the UBNT APs were compliant with standard 48V and worked without a problem for several years. Fortunately, most of their latest AP models are compatible with standard 48V. It seems this is nothing more than a step down transformer. This might make a fun breadboard project.

11ac router can receive power from the PoE adapter. The 3af PoE port on my UniFi Switches 8 POE is not working UniFi UAPs outdated by more than 10 years could be powered by a 60 Watt switch It was only the older date codes that supported 24V passive PoE (newer date codes Three af's).

Worked like a charm for me
5/5

As far as I can tell, this product has worked perfectly to convert my PoE switch to an IEEE802 one. Using IEEE802 passive mode instead of IEEE 3af. I use the NanoStation Loco M2 with the 3AF. Thus far, nothing has gone wrong!.

A ubiquiti 8port switch and an AP lite were connected to it. It worked for a little more than a year before it crashed.

If you need to use it for older APs, it works great
5/5

The converter works as expected for converting POE to a specific power format that is compatible with older models of Ubiquiti access points.
