Questions & Answers

Could anyone let me know whether this works on Ubuntu ?

As for Ubuntu 18, I just bought it and it worked right out of the box. The kernel version running on 04 is As described by "lsusb", it has the company name "Realtek Semiconductor Corp.". I am currently using the RTL8188EUS 802 board. A wireless network adapter that supports 11n". A kernel module called r8188eu, which comes with linux-modules-extra, is used.

How does this function relate to a laptop that already has wifi capabilities? Why would someone need this?

The reply and question are about 5 years behind mine ), but I don't have a 16 but a Xfinity replaced my wireless modem as I was only getting 100- 112 Mbps download speeds when my service should deliver 250+ Mbps. I have a 5" Acer 1TB laptop less than 18 months old, and my wireless modem is only about 18 months old. Upon checking my cell phone, it showed 300 Mbps coming from the same router, and the tech informed me that my laptop's wireless card can only handle up to 112 Mbps. According to him, he's seen brand new high-end laptops that lack the ability to detect and connect to a 5G network, as does Xfinity. The cost might be one factor, as well as the fact that many people don't have access to speeds over 100 Mbps at all. far, I haven't tried one of them, but most are available for between $16 and $19. A top-rated plan (4,300 reviews averaging 4.7 stars) costs about $37, and it gets you 1,600 Mbps. Here is my attempt to help....

Are you sure this will work on ?

Windows 10 is installed on my computer, and I bought an Amazon adapter that supports version 1 (V1). TP-Link's driver downloads for version 1 of their router do not support Windows 10 Microsoft has released a Windows 10 download for version 2 and 3. As a result, I tried installing the V2 and V3 driver anyway, and although they installed, I only get two to five Mbps down and four to five Mbps It operates at the same speed as Realtek RTL8188EU, which Windows 10 automatically detects and installs. It is about 15 feet away, through one wall, from where I am in an adjacent room to my wireless router. There is no good reason why Amazon forgoes delivering hardware that is compatible with Windows 10 when they still ship older hardware. My only loss is that I had to go through the hassle, but it's no biggie.

Please be sure that you have installed the driver In my case, I installed the driver from the TP Link website after downloading the driver from the box and installing it on my Windows 10 machine
5/5

The device worked out of the box without installing drivers. The disappointment, however, was very large. There is no air between my laptop and the router so my wifi connection is very unstable even when it is just 10 feet away from the router. In contact with TP Link tech support, the representative advised me to check in Device Manager if the right driver had been installed. My mistake was that even though I used the TP Link driver installation program, the driver was somehow not installed properly. There was no indication of TP Link instead of Realtek. My next step was to uninstall and reinstall I got the result this time. The quick and available technical support from TP Link gets a thumbs up.

LOVE THIS, WORKS LIKE A CHARM - SO HAPPY TO BE ONLINE AGAIN! It's awesome! I love it! THE SYSTEM WORKS LIKE A Finally, I ceased working with the three Dell technicians I was working with and began working with another Dell technician
5/5

He told me that I had to just get this USB Wi-Fi adapter and my problems would be solved. I was told by the other technicians to clean out Windows ten and reset my computer to factory settings, which did not solve my problem when I went back online. I also lost my favorite software, Windows Live Mail, which I am not able to get back. I am not sure why MICROSOFT is not going to support this e-mail's legacy anymore it was a very easy e-mail to work with. The staff decided it was a bad idea to tell me I needed a new computer, so I purchased a new Dell. I'm not able to afford it, but I needed a computer for my desk. It's now my responsibility to return it, what a hassle. This shows that not all techs know what they're doing.
If you lose internet access to your computer, desktop, or laptop - get this first so you don't lose your files then have to re-install them.

I could get Netflix and other online services from it via my phone's hotspot
5/5

It works like a little router all on Easily connect to your TV, computer, or whatever tech you need to connect to the Internet. My device was so easy to use, I just turned it on, found my WiFi, logged in and I was online. I've never had to use the CD that came with it to install it. I travel with it in my luggage so I can use it in hotels. Thanks to it I do not have to deal with stupid cords and cables tangled up.

I recommend this purchase
5/5

Those who wonder what USB WiFi they will get for $9 may be wondering what type of device they will get. It is a small one so I purchased it for its' size. On the left side, you find Chinese writing and on the right side, English. Despite the fact that the driver is packaged for this device on a CD, my laptop does not support CDs. I searched for the driver for five minutes based on the web address provided, but it was not found. It worked flawlessly after its installation.
I needed this device because I need to receive data wirelessly from an Epson projector that has an UBS WIFI receiver, but I want to remain connected to local WIFI for internet access. Despite its pricetag of $100, Epson's USB devise is not a router and it has been Although their software allows you to choose between several wireless devices, you will be able to download them at your leisure. We ran out of time before a level 2 Epson technician was able to figure out a solution that allowed wireless projecting and internet at the same time.
I would say that this USB/WIFI signal is as strong as the one that came with my laptop. There is an inexpensive solution to this problem, which I am so glad about.

After upgrading from Windows 8 to 10, my grandson's old laptop refused to pick up the internet
5/5

This product was exactly what he needed. Although I applied every trick I were able to find on the internet, nothing I tried happened. I was able to use the internet for short periods of time, but nothing else worked. My search for a network adapter device led me to this device after I determined that the problem may have been with the network card. With a price of 10 dollars, I didn't think I could As soon as I plugged it in, it connected to the internet. With my router password in hand, I was online in no time. It's been operating flawlessly since, and on top of that, it arrived If you have a similar problem with connectivity, I highly recommend this device. I was able to plug in this device directly to this laptop. Any drivers or other files I needed to download were not necessary. I had no issues with it right out of the box. The best 5 stars you could ask for!.

Exactly what it says it will do! I am using this on a laptop running Windows 10
5/5

In this case, the network chip of my laptop was faulty, and I found it cheaper to get a network adapter rather than replace it. So this was a great solution for me, since I had extra USB ports that I never used. As far as I can tell, the only problem I have with it, that may affect others, is the fact that it has a blinking green light on the network adapter which at times causes me to become distracted or distracted when using There's no avoiding it. I have to adjust. Due to the fact that I do not use a connection that is over 100mbps, I arrived at this conclusion as the best choice. As for TP-Link, I also have a wireless access point, and I have to say that so far, their products seem like they're quality products that always meet expectations.

Consultant in information technology
5/5

Now, I carry a couple in my bag all the time. Since I have been working in Information Technology for over 20 years, I have encountered multiple strange situations involving a laptop or PC that is having trouble connecting to a WiFi radio. Our most recent failure was a laptop that couldn't stay connected to brand new Cisco gear. There was literally nothing I could do because the laptop was within 25 foot of a new AP, which I could not get to stay connected. Just add one of these little monsters and turn off your built-in radio, and the problem will be.
