Selected User Reviews For QNAP QNA-T310G1S Thunderbolt 3 to 10GbE Adaptor, Single-Port Thunderbolt 3 to Single-Port 10GbE SFP+
While this device works as intended, it comes with an annoying fan that hisses all the time. As a result, this little network adapter makes more noise than my entire computer. It has been a while since I discussed the case of fanless controllers, however, because other adapters are on the market (with the same chipset).
A QNA is not the same as a QA I am using the Thunderbolt 3 T310G1T, 10GBASE-T The adapter (silver) is 45). I've tested it on Windows, OSX, and Linux. It has a Aquantia AQC100 10Gig chip (compared to the AQC107 on the T310G1T). I have tested it on both and it works great! It appeared as soon as I plugged it in (or after the system rebooted). For starters, the connection to the adapter via Thunderbolt must be "enabled" in Windows settings (it is disabled by default for security reasons). Afterwards, we need to get a driver for it. Microsoft's Windows Update / Device Manager is not able to find/download the driver for Aquantia (the maker of the chip) since the chip was recently purchased by Marvell in 2019. As one of the QNAP quickstart guides, the Aquantia driver download page links to an old page that hasn't been updated for a while. You might find it by searching for "AQtion Windows 64-bit" The Marvell driver is the AQC100 and can be found on the new Marvell drivers website. Type in "bit driver" on your favorite search engine. Having installed the driver, the network adapter was visible in the Network Adapters section of the Control Panel. The Marvell firmware update utility was also used to update the firmware from version to version. To v. 57. Getting a solid 9 out of 10. A speed of 4 Gbps (10Gbps with overhead) can be achieved on each OS when using the Iperf3 test. My testing was done with a 10GbE network Ten gigabit Ethernet transceiver (RJ45) It is the same for all of them. Thunderbolt 3 connects to PC through the blue LED, which lights up when the device is connected. After a few minutes, the transceiver in the QNAP adapter becomes very hot to the point that I can't handle it for longer than 1 second. As long as the heat is distributed through the QNAP adapter, the connection does not drop, however, the heat is not healthy for the QNAP adapter in the long run. The fan was added to the 10GBASE-T because they thought 10GBASE-T would be a nice cooling system (QNA-T version It is 310G1T). For the time being, I will be using the cable with a digital audio converter.
The QNAP NAS and 10GBE unmanaged switch have a stellar reputation for quality, and I absolutely love this brand. However, with 10GBE speeds set in the adapter, my upload speeds were just nil in every speed test I conducted. There was a QNap driver for this adapter called Aquantia V2. Unlike the Atikio, the Aquantia V2 was used to drive it. I found out the Qnap adapter is now working fine with the older Akitio driver I downloaded earlier. I have no idea why it wasn't working, but I was able to fix it. How did I know it was a good fit for me? The fan is loud, as one of the other reviewers mentioned. Even when I'm not transferring large amounts of data, it starts up fairly quickly when the PC is turned on. My usual threshold for noise isn't very high, but the noise on this fan is quite louder than the eight fans I use to cool the liquid PC in an open enclosure. In spite of having the computer in a main room of the house (not my bedroom), I was too overwhelmed by the noise. When I landed on the Akitio (I had never heard of the brand before), I was surprised. This adapter is larger than the QNAP adapter (not a big problem), and it uses a heatsink shell to cool itself The product has only been in my possession for 24 hours, but so far it has worked well and has received 8 good reviews on Amazon.
A VoIP branded SFP+ was also compatible (Ubiquiti branded SFP+ also worked The preferences don't seem to matter to her). I didn't need to install drivers because it was working out of the box. The laptop battery is depleted and gets pretty warm, but it's not a major problem. It is also nice to have the size This is quite a small room.
We need to test it further. This was tested. In the case of a Windows 10 has a poor bandwidth and transfer rate with the T320G1S. Uncheck the "LiveQoS NDIS Filter Driver" and you will be able to fix the problem. Using this method, I was able to resolve my.
The QNAP product is my second product to return to Amazon after having sold it on the QNAP website. What's the connection? I have a Dell X series switch which works great, so QNAP didn't work for me. I'm trying to connect my M1 Macbook to the 10GB network, and while QNAP Thunderbolt NIC worked for a short time, it soon started spinning its fan, which I found completely unappealing. Ultimately, I went with the CALDIGIT NIC because it is fanless and built around a solid aluminum heat sink.
There is a high pitch noise from the fan with the transmission at speed. For best performance, you need Cat 6 or higher cables. Ideal for small, flexible and high-speed networking groups for businesses, homes, games, etc.
Besides having Thunderbolt 3 ports on the new XPS 17, I was also looking for TSPs. XPS 17 users didn't need to install drivers as it worked immediately. when connected to my Dell Prestige 5510 via it's Thunderbolt port, this didn't work, not even recognized. Yet this machine has been around for nearly five years. As long as you have a fairly new system, this should work great to get 10GBe.
