The mount I am using was recently purchased. A keyed lock that holds the unit on the mount once it is in place replaces the cable, but it does not include a cable.
I had a 2018 mac mini and now I have a M1, and they both fit.

As you zoom the image, it can be seen that it comes with its own lock head, but since it's optional, you can add another lock head if you wish.

Despite the fact that the bracket is more than adequate, a person with the inclination to fix all its problems could really bring it into the spotlight There is LOTS of wear and tear on the locking mechanism. There is almost no way to unlock it without great difficulty, but as soon as it is removed one can easily replace it with one of greater quality. It appears from the pictures that a full cable comes with the bracket, but this is NOT the case. It WILL be your responsibility to supply your own cable, regardless of which option you choose. This bracket is a complete joke when it comes to cable management. In theory, it would work if there was only an IEEE 1394 power cable plugged into your computer, but the amount of space available for cables is not I find the design to be terrible. There is a very loose fit with the bracket itself. To avoid scratching a computer and to make it fit snugger, it should have some good padding. An easy way to do this would be to use adhesive Despite the extra padding, the circular disk on the bottom of the Mac Mini 2018 still sits on the sides of the bracket, which makes it wobble from side to side. It is easily resolved by using stick on feet, which, when added to the case, improve the fit even more. All of these things are quite easy to fix, but the sad thing is that they can't be fixed. Parts needed could have been included with the bracket, but the manufacturer clearly does not want to use them. This means zero stars for both items described, as well as one star for the amount of work involved in sourcing and fixing what otherwise would be a good product. That would correspond to zero stars. I'll give it one since it isn't possible to give such a high score.

I would not recommend the Maclocks MMEN76 to anyone, even if they were free, because the damage it would cause is much greater than the savings (or inconvenience). A bracket like this would not be a good choice! The better off I am with both of which I have! - *Introduced in Pro - Other reviewers have complained, so the company has decided to add a bit more padding. A con 1 is Multiple places on the bracket are designed with very sharp and intrusive points that can quickly cut your fingers! There is a clear sense that the product is not finished! The padding is too thick at the top and too thin at the bottom, which means that when the bottom (plastic cover) of the mac mini is inserted facing down, the bottom of bracket will scratch it.
Con There is NO USE for the supposed "lock" that came with the bracket! There is a considerable difference between the size and weight of the lock on the bracket, and it does not sit tight on the bracket after installation. There is a gap between the lock and the bracket so large that anyone who has a (good) knife or a flat object can break it apart With a blade screwdriver, the lock can be broken and the Mac mini retrieved.

There seems to be a weak connection between the lock and the bracket where it attaches. I have purchased this enclosure for my work in order to secure a Mac Mini, but I think it could be improved if it were to be a hardware security device. was unsure about the locking mechanism when I purchased it, but it worked out fine for me. My husband and I installed our own cable and tossed out the lock that came with it. My only wish is that the enclosure featured foam padding for better protection of the mini, preventing it from moving around within the enclosure. I will probably add wide weather stripping to this enclosure.
Three of these are in my possession- One on my desk, one affixed to a wall in my wire closet, and another affixed to the bottom of a suitcase as a more stable way to mount that Mac Mini when I travel. I think this is a great mounting option. It provides a very secure mounting system when combined with the screw mounts and the cable lock.
