Questions & Answers

Is it possible to use raid 5 hard disks on the main bay while the other bays are just ordinary hard disks?

If you are looking for an answer that is quick and easy, all three are appropriate. The standard size for SATA drives is 5", but even 2.5" is available. With the proper tray adapter) for this QNAP TS-6504S In order for the 328 NAS to function, it must be powered on. It is the specs of the hard drive itself that determine the durability and performance of any hard drive - A computer designed for desktop (generally known as "ordinary"), servers, NAS, etc.) In order to clarify, a "RAID 5 hard disk" is a storage array with five disks. If you meant hard drives specifically made to go inside a NAS (RAID), then I think you meant hard drives of that type. As long as you use an ordinary 2.25 inch SATA hard drive (or 5". ") is much different from a hard drive designed for a NAS, in terms of how long it will last and how fast it will be able to perform. The term "RAID 5 hard disk" does not refer to a specific type of hard drive in itself. By contrast, "RAID 5" refers to a specific RAID level configuration that utilizes a block-level RAID All disks are striped at the level of data, while parity is distributed. It is possible to install a group of hard drives in a NAS (RAID) and use several RAID configurations if the NAS supports them It refers to RAID 0, 1, 5, 6 or other combinations). Taking QNAP T-Mobile as an example With its RAID 5 capabilities, it is designed to support the 328. It might help if you read this.

Does the package come with any disks?

There are no discs included with this purchase.

What are the benefits of the TS-L Is it feasible to upgrade the RAM on 328?

All of the lower-class people I have talked to do not believe It is possible to upgrade the end models of QNAP NAS. There is a TS-35 in my possession There is a bug in the program that prevents it from being These models can only be ordered with more memory if you order them with that capability.

Selected User Reviews For QNAP TS-328-US QNAP 3-Bay Personal Cloud NAS, Ideal for RAID5 Storage. ARM Quad-core 1.4GHz, 2GB DDR4 RAM, 2 x Gigabit LAN, 2.5"/3.5" SATA HDD (Hot-swappable)

There is a chance it is not A five-week period of working followed by a period of complete death
3/5

It was plugged into a UPS powered by an APC and had new Seagate drives. I used to be able to turn it on last night, but now it won't power up. I cannot spin the fan, and I cannot see the LEDs Dead to the world.
It was pretty good when it worked, but even if it is replaced, there will be no guarantee of its quality. QNAP has been notified of your RMA request. After that process has been completed, I will update. A number of updates have been made to the website. This was handled pretty well by QNAP on 7/26/18. As an alternative, they offered me the option of shipping a new one and charging my credit card for it If you return a failed unit, you'll get a full refund. Sending the failed one back to you and waiting for its return was the best choice. After I received my new QNAP unit in just under 2 weeks, QNAP paid for both shipping options. We had no problem with the process I was surprised at how well it turned out.

There are no problems with it, but setting it up is a hassle
4/5

Poor options can also be chosen for setting up. There are 12TB of enterprise class disks from Western Digital, which are spinning SATA hard In addition, the interface does not exist in a polished form. If you care about your data, you should not select the configuration because it is complicated and suggests less reliable options than you should. In addition, it is not well explained how to configure it without alarms alerting you about the level of provisioning it has. You have no idea what you're doing. If I mirror two drives and use the third as a scratch drive, it should not alarm me that there is not enough spare space if there is enough provisioned space on the other two. This is stupid. The chances of being able to rebuild a RAID 5 array if a drive crashes are less than 50%, making it a stupid idea. In a 3 bay enclosure, it should not even be an option. In addition, it is not very easy to access it through the web. When I plug a USB drive into my 5 year old Asus RT-AC97, I have easier access to my files The AC68U router can also be used as a server for storing personal data. On the local network, it works okay, although setting it up is daunting at first.

Qnap grows in strength again with the addition of this new product
3/5

4 weeks after purchase, the software stopped working. The world seems to be falling apart around me, and I don't appear to be Thanks to my friend who bought the TS4xx, it spun up the first time with no configuration issues or I give this application two stars for its ease of use, but I would not recommend it for mission critical applications until the obvious bugs have been resolved. This is a typical Qnap, [original]
The build/UI is very simple and the functionality is great. These models don't have an LCD screen, but instead use a talking voice, which is an excellent addition. This 3 bay device is a great addition to the family. I own several of their high ending devices. When purchased in the US, it came with a 110/240v power adapter. For those inclined to move it around, mine was also supplied with an adapter.

A great unit while it is in working order
3/5

The QNAP TS-201 is the second of its kind There has been 328 infants that have died in three months. Even though it works well, it is a very good I enjoyed it a lot. The fact that I have to replace it every three months is getting tiring. As an added convenience, I have always had the units hooked up to an APC UPS and I still have a PC, but I've seen the last of the QNAP. QNAP is totally dead, the power light is off, the brick power supply is delivering 12V, but the power is not being delivered to the QNAP. Unfortunately, I'm not impressed with what I saw.

The update is Three months after coming out of hiding, it died! The update is Three months after it was born, it died
3/5

It is possible to power on the unit after it is reset, reseated HDDs, or smashed while praying, but it will not power on. I have yet to see my CPU break 68% utilization. #shouldhavegonesynology, but if you'd like to store data in a reliable manner, break out your stone tablet and chisel. Because I max out my RAM at 99% before then. Each and every. A single person. In fact, if the computer had 2GB of RAM instead of 1GB, it would be faster. Based solely on the 5GB listed in system properties, this thing would have an excellent cost to power ratio and easily be in the top three on Amazon, but alas, it has been built to function as a raid 5 device. A bare minimum device would be how I would describe it. "Just enough RAM to make it run" Once you load any of the media applications on it, the NAS hovers around 38% to 40%. The RAM utilization will never lapse below 45%.

I was blown away by all aspects of the trip! My experience with this purchase has been very positive
5/5

I was easily able to set up the drives within my network and install the drives. A simple, fast interface and a quiet operation make it appealing.

NAS system from QNAP that is the worst On average, power does not come back on every 40 days when it is down
3/5

It lasted for 20 days in the first unit. When it becomes dead, or can not be powered on, or exchanged, it cannot be repaired. It took 29 days for the second unit to finish. Consequently, the power cannot be turned on and the refund cannot be processed. It is the third dead unit after 30 days, so I have requested a RMA. As a result, it became very frustrating. Rather than using this model, I suggest people avoid it. You may want to try TS-XXX The following are examples of TS-251 The following numbers 451, && The Student Society- Even after all these years, they still go.
