This is a worthwhile investment. Tablet is one of my favorite things. It has been seven years now since I first got the surface pro 3. The computer is still working great, but because it is an older model, it cannot handle all the school work I have to do on it. As of now, I have the standard Surface Pro 3 specifications The computer features a 128gig hard drive, an i5 processor and 4GB It is a lot of money (and it still is to purchase a good computer in general) to drop on a computer, so you would want it to be reliable. When you purchase it, make sure you get the protection plan or extended warranty that comes with it. I mean it. Despite the fact that I purchased my tablet on the day I received it, I have not had a single issue with Due to the fact that I was already out on a lot of money at that time, I figured it would be an "oh well" kind of situation since I didn't get the plan. Haha, if I really am going to lose my tablet, then I better hope that it happens during the manufacturer's warranty period. This is not smart! Do not do this! I really think it's important to get a protection plan here! Due to the fact that I did not get a protection plan, I purchased a screen protector and a sturdy shockproof case for my smartphone. Should you buy the tablet, I would recommend getting all of those things together at the same time. Getting all of them together was what enabled me to fully use my tablet. I bought the screen and the tablet separately, but I only started using it after I had them all. As you might imagine, I was a bit wary when it came out, there was about 1500 dollars in it when it first came out, I dropped it like a moron, then I was out of luck. My only replacement was the keyboard that was shipped with the system. It was so worn out and unresponsive that I had to replace it, as well as the charger. It was here that I found those two items, which I had been looking for, and since I had been cautious with my tablet from day one, it was like new again once I replaced the keyboard and block. Nevertheless, I am going to repeat myself again. If the warranty extension or protection is offered, be sure to purchase it. The case and screen may have been in pristine condition (once I got them, I never took them out of their cases except to clean them, and even then I just replaced the screen protector whenever necessary), but that doesn't mean there won't be hardware issues. So I got extremely lucky. With the way I took care of my computer and how well it lasted with good care, I am excited to upgrade to the surface pro 7 with maximum specs to make sure the computer continues to hold up for at least another 7 years. There is very little noise from the fan. The device has turned on just a couple times for me so far. Due to randomly freezing issue with my unit, I asked Amazon to refund my money and return the surface pro 7. Even after resetting the unit, the problem occurs. I have troubleshot the issue with Microsoft tech support. My experience was a bit disappointing considering that this is my first Surface device and I had to deal with this issue considering I paid to 60 dollars for shipping from the U. S. It was my intention to give the surface pro 7 a chance, so I did not return it to amazon. I was hoping a software update would The touchpad freezes occasionally even though the keyboard is still working and the operating system is responding. Just to be clear, it occurs only with the touchpad, not the keyboard. I have a 2 year warranty from microsoft on this machine, if freezing still occurs within the first year, I will send it for repair
Update 2 I suspect an update or firmware upgrade has fixed my trackpad issue for the past 6 months. Updates from Microsoft were just installed, so if I encounter the issue again, I will proceed with updating.
