Questions & Answers

Can you tell me if it's any good? In the absence of any experience, what is the fastest mode / is 16x or 48x the fastest mode?

I have had a great experience with the drive It has been my go-to tool for burning DVDs and BDs There is a fee for this service. Providing you have software that can handle 3D playback, you can use it for 3D playback. How do you rate this drive compared to others I did not confirm the In addition to the basic features, some pricier drives include features such as HD upscaling for DVDs (which, by the way, I find useless). How does this compare with other drives for less than I think so, at least in my opinion. In regards to writing speed, that varies depending on what kind of media you use A BD-R writer can write at a speed of 16X The 24x DVD-R version is also available The DVD drive may be able to handle r (but only at r speed A DVD player that is the fastest The maximum R speed of a BD drive is 16X), and In the case of CDs, 48X is appropriate As a result of The DL must be lowered. The World Wide Web, & Co. There is always a speed difference between RAM types. In addition to this, according to an earlier answer, the fastest BD-writers are A maximum of 6X is the maximum write speed for current R discs. The following is the reading It is an acronym for Broadband Device- The read speed of the R drive is not the best (12X), but it's still decent enough. Playback of BluRays is faster than required, and it has other benefits, too As far as the BD rips go, I have done just fine.

How easy is it to play Blu-ray films straight out of the box? Do I need to install additional DVDs and CDs, what about them?

For the playback of CD, DVD, and Blu-ray discs, this optical drive needs to be updated it can read only CD, DVD, and Blu-ray discs. There are typical presentation formats available on each media type (e.g. You may be able to use them without a HC), but they may not work if you do not have other software that includes It is recommended that you use AnyDVD, which unlocks your optical drive on a per-drive basis This way, not only can you use *any* free video player software, but it will also disable annoying features like unskippable advertisements, and the most important feature is that you'll be able to watch videos from any country or region of the world.

Can I use this drive with a double-layer disk?

The vast majority of BR (blu ray) drives will read and write dual The disks will read double layer BR discs if they are dual layer BR disks. BDXL drives are the kind we have here. Putting four layers on a Blu-ray disc. There are four layers in a Blu ray disk, just like there are four layers in a DVD. As you can see, the point is clear. In binary terms, that's roughly equivalent to 16 times the space, although there is a bunch of extra metadata per track, so it's actually more like 20 to 24 times. Compared to a mobile environment, the tracks are closer together. The material is also thinner and not as friendly. The next generation of technology has, however, created materials that are harder and less scratch prone than CD/DVD coatings, even though they are thinner. The disc is one example of such a technology. I have no doubt that LG will provide you with a list of disc brands that they have tested with the drives in Many of those will work almost every time. However, at some point they will stop working. As long as it is not written to before it deteriorates too much, the material will be zapped by IR. The plates produced by factory plating companies are much higher quality and carry far more durable coatings, which means you should get media from a factory plating company rather than from a store brand. Most people agree that Sony and Verbatim are both reliable, though more expensive than the other two. The electrical equipment will last far longer without being used, and it will work far more consistently if it is not used. Other products use lesser materials and are manufactured according to poorer guidelines, can't be transported well, and aren't durable enough to withstand the wear and tear of shelves or spins in a drive. Why aren't these attributes not fair to compare your well-made product with the poorly made product of a neighbor. It makes no sense to do so. It would be like telling people that only some kinds of chocolate syrup taste right in your specially farmed milk product (okay, bad puns abound, now stop laughing In fact, it has already been done). This company is unable to tell the difference between cocoa and feces, so you shouldn't use their syrup. It is fair to warn you. Even middle-aged people are not exempt from this There are plenty of disc flavors to choose from. It is functional and it might be true. It would be functional if LG listed those brands and especially the ones It would be those other folks (TDK, Memorex, Pinnacle, Pennex, etc) with the "maybe" or "nope" answers. In the past I have had good success with discs with inkjet printable tops even when I used the "Maybe" guys. Protecting the sensitive material that you burn data onto is achieved by covering it with a substrate. A thin substrate is used for some other types of "printable" and "marker" tops. Additionally, it seems that the thicker one is necessary for the weight of the disc, since the burn speed and spin-up speed seem to be much smoother and more consistent with the thinner one. There is even more of a difference with external burners, due to their limited power and lack of fine control and stability of internal burners. Note, however, that the device being sold here uses an internal burner, but can be enclosed as an external burner if desired. As well, I have had some success with this.

It came with the firmware version There is a problem with version 03, which prevents 4k black and white discs You should beware! The firmware version 1 was decided after considerable research
4/5

A Blu-ray disc 2 will be able to read 4K UHD blu-ray video, but not a 1D disc. As LG did this on purpose to ensure the medium could not be read, they have prevented it from being read. I had a copier with 6 of them that had the v1 code on them as a disc author, but I was able to copy the regular blu rays. The old one had an older firmware version of 1, which caused it to not recognize 4K UHD movies, so I plugged in the new one. It now recognizes 4K UHD movies just fine. When it detects that there is a 4K UHD film in your drive, it spins down and goes idle There will be no way to detect it!.

It's a good drive but with the new firmware, you can't use 4K
5/5

IF you want to roll back, you CAN do so! There is a lot of drive for the money here. Therefore, I will leave it at Since 2017, they have begun shipping them with an updated firmware Its ability to process 4K Blu-ray movies was halted by an error in code in revision 3. 03). There is a chance you can roll back the driver to version 1 by being slick and technologically savvy. I would suggest downloading the older firmware from LG's Driver Download page, but that is not as easy as going to the LG site and downloading it. It is impossible to roll back LG's firmware, the company locked it in for no other option than to update. The process of rolling back has been completed by me personally, so all hope is not lost. The process was not easy and I had to deal with many speed bumps along the way, but I did manage to complete it successfully and I am now able to read several 4k Blu Ray movies without difficulty. You can find out more about this patch if you google "dosflash patch". Your browser should load a website with "myce. com" in the address bar. There is a rollback instruction included in the instructions. The files you need for downloading will require you to sign up. There is no need for this procedure if you are not in the most advanced of computer geeks. It is easy to brick your drive. Get help from someone who can help you if you do not know what you are doing. Please do not falsely accuse me of not warning In view of the fact that the instructions for this do not make this explicit in the instructions, I will give you one piece of advice. When you roll back to a previous version of windows, you MUST use a 32 bit (x86) version of the OS. There is no way of using it with 64 bit versions of Windows (x64). Please - don't waste your time trying to make it work. After spending two days on it, I failed. You won't be able to do that. It only worked for me on win7 32 bit, so I can only verify that it will work for Win7 There is always the option to partition your HDD and install x86 win7 on there so that you can boot from Using this application is only recommended My hope is that this information will help any of you out there who think a firmware patch which cripples a perfectly good 4k drive is unfair. Please let LG know you won't take this kind of underhanded and sleazy trick lying down!.

The possibility exists that you cannot use the service Everything is fine with the product
3/5

In fact, it's very good. Yet there's something I wish I had known before I made my purchase. It is so painful for a person just to watch a Blu-ray on their computer because the movie companies make it so difficult. The information on my paycheck is based on my age and job title. With the help of my new monitor and my newer Windows 10 computer, I wanted to watch some movies. This product arrived, I plugged it in, I got a Blu Ray, and I I tried to play it, but it didn't work. I've tried several different programs and haven't had any success. Whoa! What the heck is going on? Find out what the problem is by doing a Google search. I guess blue ray companies make it harder to watch because they don't want people ripping their products and distributing them online. The insane thing is that many of them are so locked down you need to rip it or have a $50 additional application to watch them. It's ridiculous there are even any hoops you must jump through to make it play, before you say anything else. I know there may be ways around it as well, but I'm just saying it's so ridiculous you have to jump through any hoops at all. To watch your media, you legally paid for every end-to-end chain in the chain but still can't view In my opinion, this is beyond absurd. The great thing is, this particular model can rip Blu Rays just fine. Some models have something called "riplock", which slows ripping down as much as possible. In my opinion, I am indignant I would advise not to even give the Blu-ray companies any money, but I am pretty much stuck after purchasing.

It works out of the box without any problems
5/5

During my research into the best blue-light projection systems, I reviewed hundreds of options A ray burner to burn m-type fuels Discs that can be archived for long-term use. The less expensive one has slightly lower reviews, but I went for it because it was a good price. Besides the blue one, there are two others I was able to find ray writers that had higher ratings on Amazon. On the basis of my experience, I assumed that these issues were likely related to the firmware or software. Many of the units received had outdated firmware or were using sub-par burning software, such as Cyberlink. I was prepared to have to update the firmware and try a few reliable softwares to burn discs (ImgBurn, BurnAware, Nero) when I got the item. Initially, it was working flawlessly on the first software I used, which was a pleasant surprise to me. There are no updates to be made. The operating system for Windows 10 is Windows In order to increase the quality of the disk writing and reduce the risk of errors, I write the discs at the lowest speed. It comes with 25GB of memory Verbatim discs are written in approximately the same speed as a disk. Data entry takes about 15 minutes and data verification takes about 20 minutes. It is a delight to write to these discs and the data verification passes 100%

After writing to discs, ensure they are stored in a dark, cool, and low-moisture A plastic case is better than an envelope made of cheap paper. Hence, they should be kept in a high quality case if you are keeping them for archival purposes. Paper sleeves might not be the best idea when it comes to storing 30 years of memories. This is the way to go Place the nice case in a firebox or safety deposit box. Put them in tightly sealed ziplock bags as this may prevent further moisture damage, which is what mainly kills discs. Avoid excessive handling or handling them with harsh objects because this may lead to scratches and damage. My new disc burner is very good, and I am very satisfied with it. If I encounter any issues with the drive or if it suddenly stops working after a week, I will revise this review. The rating I give it now is.
