This board supports vertical installation in the optical bay only if the bay can actually accommodate it.

If this drive works in an Optiplex 3040, will it work in that model?

I put it in an Opteron 7020 and yes, it should fit

Does it work with a 390 SFF, or is there a specific make and model that will work with this?

In my case, I'm using it with an SFF setup, so there shouldn't be any problems.

It is very easy to install

I am very happy with this! My Dell OptiPlex 9020 was lacking an external Blu Ray player, so I bought this for the purpose of replacing it. From the time we placed the order until we got the order from China took about a month. In a way, there were no documents, but for one thing, it was almost unnecessary. The installation of the player wasn't complicated since Dell has made it easy with its tool-less installation A chassis that has fewer parts. Microsoft Windows 10 was able to locate the right driver for Player and install it. An external player detected many errors on many discs, however, this player found none and performed significantly faster than its external counterpart. An old external drive took about two hours to back up a disc, while this new drive took the same amount of time. As for recording, I have not used this device. However, the playback has been smooth so far.

There may not be anything new about this

A 2012 issue date indicates that this may not be a new drive. It appears to be working. This drive was raw - there were no cables, no instructions, no hardware included - and it was not packaged. In an effort to correct the situation, the seller has succeeded. Let me know if you need any help.
