Questions & Answers

Is there a way to fix this problem in Windows 10? On both my phone and laptop, the signal and stability have improved. ?

From the reviews of the next level up card, here's a possible solution:br>This review comes from: TP- PCI-Express AC1900 Wireless Dual Band Link AC1900 Wireless Dual Band Link AC1900 Wireless Dual Band PCI Express Adapter with Beamforming Technology (Archer T9E) (Personal Computers) br>I love the card, it works great on Windows 10 and I haven't had any problems with it. In comparison to the internal Broadcom wireless chip on my HP Envy (mfg date Jun'15), this provided a significant increase in network and internet download speed. My only criticism is that the documentation on how to install the drivers was inadequate; the following is the key solution:
1. Install the card (this is the simple part!)br>2. TP-Link provides a driver for Windows 10 that can be downloaded. (Under Support, Archer T9E, Windows 10 driver) - link site This is a zipped file that unpacks to a SETUP application file, which you run and it claims to have installed the driver - But nothing happens, according to DM, who claims there isn't a driver. Why? Because you must first disable the existing Network Interface Device! Once you've done that (and rebooted), the setup runs smoothly and everything is fine. The source of the problem is The new NIC is created as a Network Controller device on a Windows 10 system, rather than as a NETWORK ADAPTER device as it should be (note that this did not happen on my Windows 7 system). After disabling the existing adapter, Windows 10 created a new NIC card in Network Adapter and installed the TP-Link Setup utility. The download of the Link Driver was successful. It took me over an hour to figure out what was wrong, and there was no documentation. bones 1- page sheet and remained silent on the subject. This problem could have been avoided with more accurate and precise documentation, saving me time and aggravation. As a result, I deducted one star.

Is it necessary to manually compile the driver for this device to work with Ubuntu Linux out of the box? Or are there any other distributions?

On Linux Mint Mate 18, I'm running it. The r- The 8169 driver that refused to load drove me crazy; it worked, but research revealed a slew of issues with the Realtek r-series audio chipset. Driver for the 8169. I was looking for a reliable Plex Server and ended up compiling my own driver using information from https: //unixblogger is a blog for Linux users. com/2016/08/11/how-to-start-a-business/ get- your- realtek- rtl8111rtl8168- rtl8111rtl8168- rtl8111r working- updated- I downloaded the most recent Realtek r8168 driver and compiled the information from there. It's important to be aware of the r-. If you have the courage, you can blacklist the 8169 driver. If you want to keep Windows 10 up to date, don't buy it! This adapter was very simple to put together
3/5

Windows 10 immediately recognized it and installed standard Microsoft drivers (the adapter is listed as Realtek). I did a TP-check. I went to the link website and found a newer driver, which I installed. Everything was fine until I attempted to install the Microsoft Windows 02/2020 update. The update failed in a variety of ways as a result of this. The most terrifying part of ndis was the reboot loops. sys failed to start-up- either up or down During normal Windows processing, this appears on the screen. Disabling the adapter before installing updates didn't seem to help. It was not possible to download and run the Microsoft offline update file. By reverting to the Windows standard driver (which caused Windows to crash/reboot), I was able to get the update to install. I tried a variety of driver combinations, as well as disabling the adapter and removing the device, and it eventually worked. I've finally installed the Windows 02/2020 update, but I'm not sure how I got here. I do know that on the successful attempt, the adapter/device was disabled, and that I disabled it *during* the update (not before starting the update). We'll see what happens with the next update, but I'm ready to toss it out. I'm not bothered by TP- I generally like Link products, but I would never purchase this one again.

Gigabit Ethernet adapter from Realtek

Have a MSI Motherboard with the KILLER E2200 Network Adapter, the driver set is so buggy that in the middle of perusing the. net, the card will simply vanish from your system, and Device Mangler will not even detect it. That is a futile exercise. br>br> The drivers, as well as the software and support, are completely useless. br>br>Introduce yourself to the TP LINK product family. I've been buying their products for years and have never had any problems with them, with the exception of a minor connectivity issue with an AC 750 router that was resolved after I updated the firmware. Most of their better products have removable/upgradeable external antennas and tweakable settings, which cater to the techie market. PCI-Br>PCI-Br>PCI-Br>PCI-Br>PCI-Br>PC The E form factor is ideal for a high-speed NIC, and keep in mind that your network is only as fast as the slowest device it is connected to. So I bought one for $15, shut down the computer, shoehorned the adapter between my Twin Nvidia Titan SLI GPUs, and rebooted the computer. br>br>9 seconds later, the desktop appears, I type in my password, and the card is already loaded with drivers and connected at 1000x1000mb quick tracert and ping-like speeds. t and some speed tests show that it is using every megabyte of that connection in full duplex mode without a single error, indicating true 2 gigabit bandwidth. This is critical. br>br> The reason for this is that most of us have Internet speeds that exceed 10/100; however, if you bought a cheap 10/100 Cisco Router or Cable Modem, Gigabit won't help you; you'll still be limited to 100mb. Every desktop, switch, and router/cable modem on my network are all gigabit. I get 960 megabits per second downloads and 260 megabits per second out of Spectrum Internet. Downloading a ripped DVD from an offsite FTP server took less than 18 seconds. Prior to that, the average time was around three hours. The time is 4 minutes. br>br>For the price, this is a decent card; Realtek meets the old Intel NIC standards, and unlike the onboard KILLER Networking garbage, it uses a LOT less resources and CPU/RAM to run. br>br>Overall, 5 stars are deserved. I also have 2 and 4 port server NICs with this chipset, and they're both excellent and extremely stable. br>br>BUY ONE and replace the ONBOARD Killer Networking E2200 or 2000/3000 Series cards, then MAKE SURE TO DELETE ALL KILLER NETWORKING SOFTWARE AND DRIVERS. There are numerous articles on the internet that explain how-to's.

I am blown away! My onboard LAN is terrible, and I only need one wired connection for network troubleshooting, so I needed a cheap PCIe card with no frills, just a basic wired connection
5/5

I installed the card and booted to Ubuntu, which recognized it and connected it without issue; I then booted to Win7 to double-check, but it required a driver. I expected to see the installation for some useless and completely unnecessary "connection manager" software on the minidisc that came with the card, but I was mistaken. There was a lovely little INF there, to be sure! The card works perfectly now that I've installed the driver. It's been a long time since I've seen a piece of hardware that came with *exactly* the driver I needed to get it to work. There is no crappy software that I refuse to install because it isn't necessary, it wastes resources that could be better used elsewhere, and it irritates me because it starts up without my permission. I'm not going to try to extract the driver from that crappy software installation file because I'm not going to install it. Simply. The. Driver. I was so moved that I started crying.

I installed it and it works perfectly; I'm not sure why people are having problems with it
5/5

I inserted it into an open slot, tightened the screws, turned on the computer, inserted the installation CD, and ran Autorun. exe. I was online in less than 5 minutes. br>br>I almost didn't buy it because of the frightening reviews about people having problems, having to download their own drivers, and jumping through hoops. but why? It includes an INSTALLATION CD that contains the drivers as well as a fully automated installation program that works perfectly! br>br>To be honest, I believe some people simply did not remove the cardboard insert from the box in order to find the installation CD underneath. You'll be very happy with this if you follow that advice!.
