RN-103 Bluetooth RN-103 There are two manuals in the 42 series The following is an approximate range of characteristics (office environment)RANGE After One Wall 55 feet After Two Walls 60 feet After Three Walls 36 feet Note The above measurements might be inaccurate or may differ from the actual reading depending on RF conditions. A Bluetooth hop occurs in a pseudo-synchronized manner An adaptive approach to the interference involves applying frequencies in a random fashion across the 79 frequencies in the ISM band. Variations in data throughput and range are dependent on the presence of RF interference.
Mirroring the serial port of a computer to a remote location is not possible with this. Serial communication is used to connect the PC or the microcontroller with a remote device. There are several signals provided, including TX, RX, RTS, and CTS.

I really like this. The bluetooth function on this board is too slow under Windows 10, but otherwise the board works great. I have to recall (unpair) the modem in Windows 10 every time so they can connect again. I cannot get it to connect to the modem immediately. The port number for the modem changes each time Windows 10 assigns the com port The terminal software in my laptop only allows me to connect to com12, so as soon as it gets above com12, I can't connect. It appears that Microsoft is not in a hurry to solve You can use a program to change the numbering system in Windows 10 back to its original value, but it has side effects as well. I should say that these modems have a good working performance.
Since JY- has been so expensive, I have purchased many other Bluetooth modems that claimed to accept 5v signals and none proved to work (I'm looking at you, Microprocessor Control Unit). Because I would never be able to get a good connection when I would "level shift" it was nice to have something that would work.
Although I have no real testing to back up my claim, I believe this device's range is superior to that of cheaper alternatives, though that may just be a matter of perception. I'm able to connect to a device located in my block wall garage from my back yard around a hundred feet away without issue.
The default baud rate is 115,200, rather than 9600 like many of the The board I chose works great, as long as you have 3 of them. I needed a board that could handle 5vTTL, and this one does it perfectly. I can't comment on the longevity of the Bluetooth module considering that I've never had one fail so it's tough to judge. At twice the price, I don't really see the point of this board.
A variety of Bluetooth/serial adapters are available for lower prices. It really does work. The adapter here seems to work, but there are dozens of cheaper ones available. The documents are in English, the firmware is available to look at, and it does not lose settings that lock I would have liked it to cost less, but I have already spent this much on three other modules that did not It is a product I will buy.
The MSP430 I used for my microcontroller class was a great platform for me.
The remote control telescope projects I use it for are a big hit with me. A Mega from Arduino was connected to it after I programmed it. I was able to use it right away on.
This module firmware does not support HID host configuration, which means that it cannot be used to connect to HID client devices such as keyboards or gamepads.
It works perfectly, and the package is small and convenient!.
The soldering process may need to be performed if your application requires it.
