DO NOT BELIEVE IN WARRANTIES. So, I had this power supply for about ten months before it died. The warranty stipulates that I bear the cost of shipping for their faulty product, which is expected to last less than a year. They also only give you a refurbished one, so if you're like me and have a brand-new power supply, you're likely to get even lower quality. So they screw you with the $15 plus shipping fee, then screw you with a half-decent product. As a result of my experience with this brand, I am unable to recommend it.

This machine runs like a champ with an E motherboard, 32GB ram, and a rgb cpu liquid cooler in a nzxt 510 case! It's extremely quiet, and you'll only notice it when you turn on your computer for the first time. Aside from that, the computer is almost imperceptibly quiet.

However, it is about the same size as my 650W PSU and has an Eco Mode feature for an 850W PSU. I didn't want to spend an extra $100 to replace a perfectly good one, but I learned my lesson the hard way. If you're looking for mainstream components, especially GPUs, my advice is to go with Intel. Aim for a few hundred watts more than the recommended to allow for future upgrades (if needed) throughout your build.

When playing super graphically intensive games on ultra (RDR2), where the RTX 3090 was guzzling juice, the OCP would trip; however, when I undervolted my card, the OCP did not interfere with any games. br>The level of noise was truly non-existent. I'm not as sensitive to it as some people, so it's not a big deal for me. I switched between eco and normal mode, which seemed to work fine. br>Modularity is a wonderful thing. br>br>I contacted EVGA support, who replaced this PSU with a 1000w one, which fixed the problem. EVGA support gets high marks, but this PSU could use an update.

Most people would give this thing a one-star rating after five months of service, but I'm not one of them. In just a moment, I'll explain why. The Pros: br>br>The Pros: br>br>The Pros: br>b It's a nice little power supply with plenty of cables, and it came with everything I needed to set up a mid-range computer. range gaming setup is in the works. The materials were reasonably durable (until it exploded), and I had no issues with it. The disadvantages: br>br> It went off without warning. br>br>Now, the PSU didn't just go off without warning. What happened to me was that I had a Corsair H60 liquid cooler installed on my CPU, and it was severely shorted. Fortunately for me, that version of the cooler was powered directly from the power supply via SATA rather than from the motherboard. br>br>When the cooler shorted, it traveled along the circuit, eventually reaching the next dongle on the SATA, which was my LED controller. That blew up, stopping the short from continuing and erasing all of my data, but then the power surged the other way, and the power supply made a very loud noise like a door slamming angrily shut, and it was dead. However, there is no fire this time! yay! br>br>I've had power supplies fail before, and while I thought I'd lost the entire build, all I lost was the pump, LED controller, and power supply. A $3500 fix became a $350 fix as a result of this. I'm disappointed that I won't be able to get an RMA or other warranty service for my PSU, but if the build quality had been any worse, I would have probably had to scrap my entire build. Oh, and the power cables were completely fried, but there was no fire! This power supply was purchased in anticipation of future upgrades. So far, I'm very pleased with it. Everything you need for a variety of setups is included, and my favorite feature is that the cables detach from the unit, so you only have to plug in the cables you need and don't have to worry about finding a place to store all the extras.

However, sleeved extensions are highly recommended, as the stock cables aren't particularly attractive. 850w should be plenty for my needs, and it should be capable of handling the upcoming Ampere and Big Navi GPUs later this year.
