In essence, they are the same, except that the Thetford (618548) Thermistor Assembly to be used in N61/N81 is a different part number. The same item can be found on Amazon for the same price, after comparing shipping costs.

My refrigerator is now working again

Installing this product was very easy. The Norcold guy told me that you can verify whether the thermistor is bad by unplugging it and turning the temp to full cold, if the fridge gets cold, the thermistor is bad. This is what I did and the temperature got much colder. I decided to order the replacement parts after trying that. In five minutes, we were able to fix it.

The problem with my fridge was not this, but I did find that it was time for a new one and this one fit perfectly. I had to twist it a little bit like the original so the access wires wouldn't be hiding.

In the event that the original equipment thermistor fails, we have prepared a replacement. Although we have not had to replace it, having one on hand is a good safety net in case there is a problem.
