If you are looking to build a new computer or upgrade from the first Ryzen generation, the 3800x can be a great selection.

In using the 3800x with the wraith cooler, how effective is it? Do you think I should get an AIO or should I go with this one?

I think this is a bit overkill to use an AIO on a 7NM chip like this. I run it without a cooler because it has a But if you put on a good air cooler or an AIO, the CPU will boost to its highest possible level. The Noctua D15 is what I am running. It keeps my 3800X overclocked at It's nice and cool to have 4 GHz all cores. strongly suggest an air cooler, simply because that will give you a better sense of safety, and reliability. As it all depends on the graphics card you pair it with, but it can run that game without a problem. Just get a decent GPU that can handle 144 frames, and get a monitor that can handle that amount, perhaps a 144 or 165 Hz screen.

Yesterday, I received the 3800X (at the standard retail price) and paired it with the Gigabyte X570 Aorus Ultra motherboard. I am extremely pleased with the performance of the system. The CPU is largely running at 4 GHz at the moment and there are no overclocking efforts. The speed usually ranges from 4 GHz to 3 GHz with a few drops. There are nine GHz in the system.

It was priced correctly, the performance was as good as promised, and that cooler is the real deal! The fourth strike has been made. My motherboard is just a B350 so I still have 4ghz. I'm moving on to a new one This is a great program overall.

The CPU I purchased from AMD resellers did not work, and it seems like this should be an absolutely amazing cpu. My computer kept shutting down whenever I tried to start it up again and would not let me sign in. In spite of my best efforts, I still could not get it to work after about 10 hours of troubleshooting. In the end, I restored the cpu by driving about an hour to my nearest microcenter and it is working fine.

My gigabyte gaming k7 x370 processor is running it now. There have been no problems, and I have not even overheated the processor. 16Gb of flarex ddr4, and the XMP runs it at 3200 without any problems. Do you think it is worth it over That's a matter for you to decide.
