This is an excellent piece of equipment. One word of caution: I've seen a lot of people complain about how difficult it is to install the stock fan. It is, until you realize the backplate has fallen off, and you've been cursing yourself for the past thirty minutes, questioning your own sanity, aptitude, and the very meaning of existence while trying not to smash this thing into a thousand little pieces in front of your girlfriend, who saw the receipt and would not approve of destroying an item tagged at this price the day it arrives. Apart from that, it's a fantastic device!.
I'm a gamer, and this processor is fantastic for gaming. Even though I haven't overclocked it, it eats up and spits out all of the games I throw at it. I've rendered videos, and the 6 cores and 12 threads are more than enough to make me laugh as I watch this little $200 beast gnaw away at the render. Easily one of, if not the best, price-to-quality ratios available. There are a variety of high-performance CPUs available. br>br>In addition, for those who are interested; It arrived in perfect condition, with no dents, nicks, scratches, or other flaws. br>br>I highly recommend this PC for mid-range computing. video rendering on a *MID BUDGET* scale and enthusiast gaming on a *BUDGET* scale.
I've been blown away by how well this processor performs; I can play the most demanding games while still maintaining 120 frames per second. It comes with pre-applied thermal paste. applied, as well as a powerful stock cooler. This is the best value for money in terms of price vs. performance; however, the pre-order price is higher. The amount of thermal paste that has been applied is insufficient. It needs to be replaced because it isn't up to par.
I had been looking at this processor for weeks before deciding to purchase it last month. This is running on an Asrock AB350m Pro4 motherboard with two 4GB HyperX Fury ddr4 modules. 2400 Using the pre-installed wraith cooler with the stock wraith cooler Everything is fast and cool now that thermal paste has been applied. I posted my first attempt and was able to run several iterations of memtest; before putting everything in my case, I checked temperatures right after the test (44 degrees on the CPU). The temperature on the motherboard had dropped by about 8 degrees. br>br>I have a microatx case with 5 case fans wired to the PSU, so it's always on (this thing sits under my desk, isn't very loud to me anyway, and the barely audible fan noise is relaxing in my opinion). Cinebench is the only time I've ever seen a CPU run at maximum speed. HWmonitor and Ryzen Master both reported temperatures in the high 50s even back then. br>br>At the moment, I've got it set to 3. My MB's UEFI allows me to run at 6GHz on stock voltages. Ryzen master is a cool utility for finding your processor's sweet spot for OCing, and it's useful for finding your processor's sweet spot for OCing. Idle temps are 33 degrees Celsius, and during Cinebench runs they're back in the high 50s. I could and have pushed this thing further, but I absolutely do not load it anywhere near 100% ever. Even 60% for that matter matter matter matter matter matter m Cities is my main game. CS: Skylines is a game in which you play as a character in In Aftershot Pro and Vegas, I do a lot of batch photo editing and video processing for Source, Civ, and various RTS games, as well as a lot of batch photo editing and video processing. It doesn't even break a sweat when it comes to this thing. br>br>I don't see the point in having the "fastest" processor available, even if it is the only way to get this thing to run faster than 4. 0ghz. Seriously, whatever gaming and other programs you want to run on this thing will run quickly and efficiently. Definitely future-proof for at least the next five years; just buy it and torture it. It'll just make a snide remark about you.
Except for its multi-tasking abilities, it excels at everything. thread. which it happens to be great at, especially for this price pointbr>basically, if you have any graphics card under a gtx 1070 or vega 56, this processor will give you comparable performance to even the best gaming cpu'sbr>considering there are only a few games that currently use all of the r5 1600's threads, technology will eventually catch up and start utilizing more threads in more games, so this processor will only get better with time. b It was literally as simple as going into the bios and changing the frequency from 3 to 7gh. 2 to 3. There are no voltage changes or anything, and it runs like a dream, not to mention the included cooler is quiet and does a great job, and it even has the thermal paste spread on it, so you won't need a 212 evo/arctic fox paste or anything like that. br>br>If you are an average user and want a processor that can handle anything you throw at it, get this processor! (If you're streaming or doing heavy workloads, the i7 8700 or r7 1700 are better options, but the r5 can still handle it)br>br>in a nutshell, the last big advancement for cpus that blew everyone away was intel's i5 2500k (i believe) back in 2010, and the r5 1600 is the next big advancement that people will be talking about for the next few years.
