If you are planning on using this headset adapter for a similar purpose, I strongly recommend it.

I found this adapter to be extremely useful. When it comes to listening to music, I sometimes do not want to wear my big over-the-ear headphones, especially if I need to be aware of I can conveniently use this adapter to connect USB-connected in ear headphones to my USB hub. There is such a great difference in sound quality with these. Almost as good as the over the ear headphones and brings out an even more exciting sound experience. If you have extra USB storage on your computer, or if the headphone port on your case is damaged or difficult to reach, this modification is absolutely worth it.

I bought two of them for my wife and me. I have a decent set of headphones with only one integrated microphone and speaker stereo jack, whereas my computer has separately attached mic and speakers A jack for connectors. Despite my best efforts, I couldn't get a good results with simple wired adapters. In this case, the problem is solved These are very good for Skype/Zoom, watching YouTube, etc. They are good to use for meetings, etc. I have a better DAC/Amp setup for more serious listening, but these are good for the job I got them for and at a decent price.

Finally, I got it to work but could not After many hours searching through forums, tech support and other resources, I could not find a This little adapter was just what I was looking for. Basically, I plugged it in, hooked up my headset, and enjoy my movie. I was successful! The system does not require any software to be installed or drivers to be configured! I just got it to work! I am able to hear others clearly and others can hear me clearly (Zoom, Teams, or any other tool). Surely there are other things you could use!.

The headset or earbud should be 5mm TRS and can be plugged into the USB port. Works well, no issues, and I've tried multiple earbuds and three. The headsets should be connected using USB ports if they have a 5mm TRS jack. Testing with a 3 will yield better results. There is a dedicated 5mm mic, but it does not provide much mic gain amplification, so I do not use it for recording.

It's an old gaming laptop that has a few pieces that are malfunctioning now and then. The laptop has been used as a home theater laptop and hooked up to an amplifier.
