Hello, I just wanted to let you know that you can switch between two computers to share a mouse, keyboard, and a monitor. I appreciate your inquiry and your
It usually takes a more expensive VGA/DVI KVM switch *$200 to do so. The KVMs can be split between two of these and the second monitor can be used by the second KVM This requires both systems to have their VGA outputs enabled and for both switches to be pressed simultaneously. In either case, it is not recommended but would suffice. *br> *br>For the second monitor, you might want to use a DVI connection and keep it exclusively connected With the technique, you are able to share the VGA monitor between two systems, while also having the second monitor connected to one of the systems. As of now, I haven't run into any serious issues with it.

The way I got it set up worked perfectly once I figured it out. I like the quality of the video and the way the mouse and keyboard work. I initially thought this method did not work, but found out that the first time used, the switch must be in the position of the computer before the computer is powered on. Once you have the other position chosen, switch to that computer and begin the boot process. In the event that you do not switch it to the booting computer, the mouse and keyboard will not function. When the video switch is positioned at boot, it works regardless of how the switch is positioned.
Before ordering, I was aware that there were some dislikes about the product. It "works" and I know some of the dislikes beforehand. A new dislike has arisen and others have proven more of a nuisance than I expected. This allowed me to connect my desktop computer to my security system and my monitor to one computer. There was no necessity for a keyboard or mouse connection or a USB port. The brand I changed from after two years of having quit working is a brand I won't repeat. So, first of all, there is one huge dislike I have with my particular installation You need to connect the USB power ports! 1) You HAVE to connect the USB power ports! The security camera I used did not have a USB port, so I connected two externally from my computer. However, that meant that I had to use all of my slots and run cable out the front. (2) Minor dislike the inconvenience of which I knew but did not realize Not the front, but the top of the device has the switch. The switch in the front of my house was easily accessible with my old If I wanted to reach this switch, I would have to place the whole box in front of the monitor (much like how I reach the switch for the lights). Which brings us to the third All of the cables are not located at the It would be more convenient to have the switch out in front of the monitor (between the monitor base and the monitor itself), if all the ports came out of the back. It is easy to imagine one cable coming out of the side, but that can make a very unruly setup. Again, it seems to be working. It just has a lot more cables and is a messier setup than my previous switch, and I have to reach behind my monitor to switch inputs. And, I don't know how much longer it will last than my previous.
The MacBook Pro I use for personal use and the MacBook Pro I use for work The Dell laptop has been issued to you. Both had to be open on my desk at the same time as I switched tasks between them, so I got tired of them both open at the same time. In my new setup, I keep each laptop in a separate box next to my desk and set each to not go to In addition, the video outputs of each laptop are fed by this switch into a 27" monitor. The keyboards and mice are both Logitech wireless devices that connect to the computer (or in this case, the switch) via their unifying receivers. It does not have any Bluetooth issues, no keyboards or mice need to be attached, just a tiny receiver that plugs into a USB port and automatic pairing Devices to which it is paired are recognized by the app. My setup works perfectly from the very beginning, and did so from the moment The switch is still hard-wired to the laptops via USB for keyboard/mouse and video output but that's out of sight down by the floor on the side of my desk where I have this switch mounted I move my hand to the side of the desk and tap the button to switch from one laptop to the other. In addition to what was mentioned previously, there is a 3-month notice period A four-second delay exists before the video from the other laptop appears, but in my case that doesn't matter since I cannot imagine a scenario in which it is necessary for it to happen In addition, there is some delay if I have to press a key on the keypad or move my mouse to turn on the video output of the new The video output doesn't go to sleep even if neither of them do if they're inactive for a long time. While I would probably like to change it, I am not too concerned about it. That everything worked so seamlessly is what I'm thankful for. As a result, the only thing I wish I had realized before I purchased this switch was that there is no audio support. There are no audio inputs nor do any of the USB ports transmit sound. Only a keyboard and mouse pass through is available, and the only video support is VGA. In the end, I had to do a little extra setup to get sound from the two different laptops to play through one set of desktop speakers, but if the switch had HDMI inputs and outputs for video and audio, that would have been easier and required I still don't believe it is important enough for me to get a new The underlying switch mechanism on this one works extremely well and I can replace it just as easily if it ever breaks down.
With this switch, it was easy to connect a single USB cable (which comes with the device) to each computer, and I was glad to see that both computers could have one keyboard, monitor, My only error really worth noting is that I made a small error that others need to be aware of to avoid doing the same. When I thought I unplugged the mouse from both computers and connected the USB cable from the KVM switch, I plugged in the mouse. There was a problem with the mouse on the other computer, but the mouse worked Upon noticing that the original mouse that was attached to that computer was still working, I quickly realized I had not unplugged the mouse I wanted from that computer. It took me a while to follow the cable from the mouse and to remove Following those steps, both computers worked with a flawless mouse and keyboard. This is certainly a five-star review!.
In order to purchase Ugreen KVM, I had to switch from plugging my PC into a monitor to plugging my DVR VGA cable into my PC. Now there will be no more. The KVM switch has a button I can press to turn it on. I'm not going to have any headaches anymore!.
As of now, all I use this for is a USB switch. I haven't used the VGA ports. I needed a way to switch between my Mac and PC, so I connected my monitor to my computer via both DVI and HDMI, but I needed to use one keyboard and mouse to switch between the two As it turns out, I was using a USB hub and moving the cable manually from one computer to another. The pros include The ease with which it can be switched between systems* The status light letting you know which system is being used* The cable connections are standard* The price is reasonable* The cons are There is a delay for the drivers to load when switching from Mac to Windows. (I was going to remove a star, but it is not an issue with the switch, but with.
