Having tried them both side by side, I realized I wasn't happy with the boom any longer once I started listening to the D9. Two D8s are already in my possession, so I thought, why not get two D9s also. Isn't it true that more is better? The music is louder than before. It doesn't have a variety of styles, which I haven't fully tested yet. I easily removed the handle by removing the hex head screws hiding behind the black tape I removed from the side of the handle where the handle inserts. This took me 2 minutes with a hex/allen wrench of the appropriate size. The handle is not necessary for me because I carry mine on my bike.
