Selected User Reviews For JBL Charge 5 Waterproof Portable Speaker with Built-in Powerbank and gSport Carbon Fiber Case (Black)
As I debated the purchase of the new Extreme 3 or the Charge 5, I decided to purchase the new Charge For the longest time I have been using JBL products, dating back to my days in college when I owned a set of Defining which Charge 5 I bought was a hard decision. I read many reviews online and watched a lot of video reviews. My main reasons for choosing the Charge 5 over the Extreme 3 were its size, form factor, and cost.
The Extreme 3 is significantly larger than the Charge 5, and I felt that it was too large for me. For the most part I used my Flip 4 at home, or while I was outside. My most frequent listening volume is about 50% if not that, I rarely turn it up to full blast. Since I was not in need of the big sound offered by the Extreme 3, I did not purchase the Extreme 3. Despite being smaller than the Extreme 3 (see the picture above), the Charge 5 still produces excellent The Charge 5 filled my garage with the sound of great music as I was doing woodworking in there. It is more portable than the Extreme 3 given its smaller size. It is the sound quality of the JBL Charge 5 that really makes this product shine. I listened to it side by side with my Flip 4 when I first got it. It did not seem to make a significant difference to me. In comparison, the Charge 5 puts out 40 Watts and the Flip 4 puts out 16 Watts (The Extreme 3 puts out 100 Watts, btw). My Charge 5 moved quickly from my phone to the Charge 5 via Bluetooth connection via the JBL app. At first, I was wondering if I had just wasted my money because the sound was similar to that of the Flip 4. However, the app says my firmware is up to date, and I checked for a firmware update. I then re-read it a couple of days later I checked the firmware and the app informed me that an update was The update to the firmware was downloaded via the JBL app (which I connected to my internet at home through) and the sound quality of my Charge 5 improved right away. This particular sample was stronger, with more pronounced mids and bass, and better Some of the drawbacks are, for example, that speakerphone integration is not included. My Flip 4 allows me to use speakerphone, which is really handy when I need to use it for voice calls No cost. In addition, the Charge 5 is not equipped with an AUX cable. As a result, it can not be used with non-compliant devices The older computers at school I used to have that use Bluetooth (such as my old Dell computer). There is a USB input for charging devices which is of marginal assistance to me since I am not a millennial or Zoomer whose phone is perpetually at 8%. The AUX and speakerphone would be more convenient to me since I always keep my phone on charger. It is not a big deal Despite that, there are still breakers. There was a charge of $180 for the Charge 5 There is a $250 price tag on the Extreme 3. My overall rating for the Charge 5 was the highest when taking all the factors into consideration. My choice would be the Extreme 3 if I were the type of person who had a pool and wanted to blast tunes for a crowd of 50 people I am not in that scene, so it's fine for me that the Charge 5 works for me.
Audio quality is not affected by max volume like the Charge 4's, and volume has no effect on battery life. All in all, I am glad I bought this!.
The best speaker we have ever This is an awesome sound! Whether you're at the pool or inside, this is a great choice! It takes a long time for a battery to discharge! It is definitely worth checking out.
We bought it to replace an old Bose portable. Bose's older Charge 5 model is far superior to the JBL Charge 5. Mostly, we use it at our lake cabin to improve the audio on the TV. Since I wear hearing aids, I have often had to rely on closed captioning to comprehend JBL's better sound quality means that I no longer need closed communications and I can understand all kinds of voice over. You can use it straight out of the box without any breaks With the sound upgrade, the playback is much better I had hoped for such a result. As a result, I was not expecting to completely eliminate closed captions, which is a wonderful circumstance We haven't tried out the battery life yet, but it is possible to use this device while plugged in, so we don't expect any issues. Several You Tube reviewers bring up the fact that it is strong.
It's a great product that fits perfect with the case and so easy to carry round. The speaker is also very good and I'm glad to have upgraded to it.
As far as Charge Models go, this is the best speaker, even compared to the JBL Extreme 1 and Extreme 2 Compared to the previous speaker, this one has better value as well as sound quality. It is a great case for traveling, but if your speaker has a silicone cover, it will not fit into this one. To be clear, however, those silicone wrap cases just wrap around the speaker and roll up in the case, and the charger cable will fit next to it with ease. I would consider this a great buy all in all.
There's a brand new one that has already fallen apart. A great product is so poorly constructed, I do not understand why that is the case. I purchased a newer generation, as this was not the first speaker I bought. I thought better quality would come from a manufacturer of a newer generation. It is then more difficult to return the item, take time out of my day to go drop off with a return label, and wait for another item to be sent to me, only to find out a few days later that the other item is also falling apart? Not at all. My understanding of it is unclear, but the sounds quality is astounding. I'm still laughing.
A fantastic sounding speaker for the price. The EVA case is strong enough to hold the speaker with the silicone travel case on it and to fit the quick charger I bought to charge the speaker. I have not yet used the power bank on the speaker but I have every expectation that it will work well.
