I should have spent more time shopping and reading the description. The cable ends were silver rather than copper, which I thought was odd. Sure, electrons travel on the outside, but for signal carrying wire, I'd prefer oxygen-free copper. This kit is 8ga, but apparently that does not mean AWG. For my purposes, the ground and power cables appear to be thick enough. The speaker cable is extremely thin for an 8ga kit. Instead of using it, I made my own. MANL fuses are used in the fuse holder. That's a new one on me, and I suppose I'll have to go out and get some spares. It also has a 60A fuse, which is far too large for my mono subwoofer amplifier to provide any protection. I appreciate the protective mesh on the front of the power cable. It is extremely difficult to cut with scissors, as I discovered when I attempted to do so. It's all right to use a termination kit. Overall, it does the job, but I don't think I'd recommend it.
Putting together a 4-channel audio system ch amp. All that is required is provided, though I will be using my own crimp terminals for some of it because I prefer lugs that can withstand the elements in salt air. These will corrode, and they are typical of the low-cost terminals found in such kits. However, I'm not complaining because the value is there for what you get.
This wiring kit served me well for several months. With the exception of my stupidity and learning, the installation process went smoothly. Over a thousand miles and a thousand miles later, they were still holding up. Unfortunately, the vehicle in which it was riding had met a tragic end when it rolled into a pond. While there are numerous factors to consider, my amp, which was fully submerged under the driver's seat, blew the magical smoke of death. br>To sum up, even though our time together was brief, I appreciated having this wiring system in my truck.
For a basic setup, I used this amp kit. The head unit, amp, and subwoofer all worked fine, and the RCA jacks, despite their appearance, were basic. Only 300 watts of power are being pushed. Nothing that would detract from the capabilities of the amp kit. Thanks.
I wasn't expecting the nice touches, like the pre-crimped power connectors and the lovely wire loom on the power side, but I'll buy it again when I do my next install!.
Everything you'll need to power and amp a sub box is included in the kit. If I ever needed another amplifier, I'd order it again.
This could have come with two sets of RCA cables, but another set wasn't that much more, so I went ahead and bought another set, but the entire kit was fantastic! Everything was included, and it functions flawlessly! This is something I'd buy again if I had the opportunity.
It was a gift for my son, who loved it.
