How Our Score Is Calculated

Product Description

When the vehicle battery voltage falls below a certain threshold, the adjustable voltage low voltage protection function will cut power to your dash camera. There are four voltage settings to choose from: 11, 12, 13, and 14. 8V, 12V, and 12V are the three voltages available. 2V, 12.
When the vehicle engine is turned off, the dash cam automatically switches to parking mode, and when the vehicle engine is turned back on, it switches back to normal recording.
You can choose from three different parking recording modes: auto event detection, time lapse, and low bitrate recording.
The red battery cable should be connected to a power source that is always on. The ignition must be connected to the ACC yellow cable. The vehicle's body should be connected to the ground cable.
Note: To work with the hardwire cable, you'll need 2 fuse taps. The HK3 isn't compatible with the T130 dash cam.

Questions & Answers

If I don't want to use parking mode, I can disable it. Tap the red fuse to usb power, the black fuse to ground, and the yellow fuse to ground. After that, I should be able to plug into the gps port, correct?

The kit will not provide power to the camera unless all three wires are connected. If you are certain you will not be using parking mode, connect the red and yellow wires to the same accessory fuse.

Is it possible to use this kit with the Viofo A129 Duo?

I bought the A129 Dou HD and it works great. It's a little easier to install if you go to the viofo website for the instructions. I'm using a 12 amp fuse for the switches and a 5 amp fuse for constant power with no problems. It was installed on April 10th, 2021, and I'm happy with it all the way on hardwire kit and cameras.

Will I need two of these if I buy a duo camera (front and back)?

No, a single hardwire kit is all you'll need. Because the rear camera is connected to the front camera, it is powered by it. Don't forget to purchase the appropriate fuse taps to go with this kit.

Has this item ever failed after a year or more? It hasn't been turning off the dashcam at the set level in a long time. ?

So far, I've had no issues with mine; have you tried changing the selector switch to a different setting?

The Viofo A129 Duo camera is not powered by this device
3/5

There are no fuse jumper wires included with this cable. I didn't notice that in the product description, so it's entirely my fault; however, I was already in a bad mood because I had to order them, wait for them to arrive, open the column, and so on. covers, which is a pain in the neck. Also, I was irritated by the fact that some other hardwires of comparable price include jumper wires, but I reminded myself that this is Viofo's cable, so I shouldn't take any chances. br>br>After a week or so, I thought I was ready and connected everything, only to discover that this cable does not provide power to the camera. I tried every possible wiring configuration I could think of (and wasted several hours in the process). My A129 Duo camera works fine when powered from the base/mount or the lighter power supply, but neither of these options will work with this cable. I checked all of the fuses, double- and triple-checked which ones were live when the car was turned off, swapped the ACC and BATTERY cables to make sure they weren't switched in the factory by mistake, etc. In desperation, I even tried changing the voltage cutoff between 11 and 12 volts. 8 and 12. 4V, though this should not affect the camera's direct power supply while the car is running. Except for this cable, everything in the car works. I squandered a half-dozen jumper cables attempting to get this to work. br>br>Now I must return this and wait once more. I'm well over $200 now, and I still have an unsightly cable dangling from my mirror, as well as the prospect of another cover removal and time loss. Worst of all, if Viofo's cable fails, I have no idea which hardwire to use.

1 out of 5 stars what da? 1 out of 5 stars Short version of a long story br>I purchased two VIOFO A129 Duo cameras for use in two of my vehicles
3/5

I ordered the first wire kit after deciding that parking mode might be useful. One of the sets was missing. Mind you, I have a background in electronics and have done a lot of DC installations as a hobby and for a living. After 3 hours of wasted time poking around, relocating fuses, and troubleshooting, it was discovered that the unit was not providing voltage to the GPS base where the camera was connected; The connection to the cigarette lighter socket always works (neither the GOS base nor the camera). The return process has begun. br>br> While looking for an alternative, I decided to place two orders to be on the safe side. Electronic music has the potential to be a smash hit. I call it a miss. Several days later, br>br>2 arrived. This time, the sucker was put to the test first, and it passed. It worked after being installed in the vehicle. I'm still working a few days later. It appeals to my tastes. I went ahead and ordered three more for my other vehicle. The following day, br>br>3 arrived. Cool. Put three of them on the bench test. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% DOA? Nah! For good measure, hardheaded me decided to throw it in the car. I had a dud three hours later, thanks to the stupid me. On 3, the process of returning was started. br>br>Spent the entire night looking for an alternative to the VIOFO brand, but couldn't find one that I liked because VIOFO is the only one with four different voltage cutoffs (I prefer the 12. 2 volts (others do not). So, I say, give it another shot. The number four has been requested. 2 days later, br>br>4 arrived. All of the items were ordered through the VIOFO store and were delivered by Amazon. Because Prime shipping is fast and free. This time, I'm going to put the sucker to the test. What the hell is it all about it all about Is this going to be another DOA? This time I'm not going to be stupid and waste my time; the return process began on day four. br>br>My wife persuaded me that it could just be a few bad apples in a bucket full of good ones. Okay, as I previously stated, a quantity of five was requested. Once again, I went to the VIOFO store. br>br>The following day, 5 arrived late in the evening, but I couldn't wait any longer. You guessed it, right? On the bench test, it was also 5 DOA, and it arrived in the same package. There was not a single twisty tie that I removed. On 5, repeat the process. DO NOT BUY FROM THE VIOFO STORE UNTIL VIOFO NOTICES AND FIXES THESE QUALITY CONTROL ISSUES. On February 4th, 2021, I wrote this review. If the number of people is five, After this date, if you have consistently received five-star reviews, you have been informed by me. br>br>Best of luck to everyone. I placed an order for six from Black Box My Car. They're from Canada, according to what I've heard. Perhaps they've received different batches of VIOFO shipments, resulting in different components? I'm not sure how much I'm willing to give up. Both ways are free of charge, though shipping from Canada takes a little longer. br>br>On a scale of one to five, is. 200 Even in baseball, that is not acceptable. I'll take a look at 6 and let you know what I find out.

It works fine, but it's in the wrong direction
5/5

ACC is written in yellow on the yellow wire. The red wire has the letters BATT on it. br>The labels are on the right colored wires, but the wires are in the wrong order. br>The yellow wire, on the other hand, requires a steady supply of 12 volts. Switched 12v is required for the red wire. br>Apart from that, everything is fine.

My battery was completely depleted
3/5

This is not something you should put your trust in. My battery was completely depleted. It must be wired correctly on an acc only fuse, as verified by a multimeter. While set to a 12, I didn't drive my car for a few days and it completely killed my batteries. Cutoff voltage of 2 volts My jeep has two batteries and is equipped with a stop-start system. They were both knocked out by it. As dead as one can get. I wasn't able to get it started at all. They must be AGM because they are inside the cabin. It cost me over $250 and a lot of time to replace them because I didn't have a running vehicle. I guess I just wasted all this money on a higher-end camera only to discover that parking mode isn't available. And then there's the matter of having to spend even more money to replace expensive batteries in a vehicle that's only two years old. br>br>Nice. br>br>.

THIS IS NOT A GOOD ITEM TO BUY
3/5

DOESN'T GENERATE POWER FOR THE VIOFO CAMERA. To begin with, there are no fuse taps included. Second, despite what the title claims, this does not power the Viofo Duo Plus A129. I squandered four hours of my life attempting to make this work. I tried every possible combination, wasting at least ten fuse taps in the process of determining what was wrong. When I realized it was this item that was the problem, I was furious. Then I looked at the Amazon reviews and discovered that many other people were having the same problem. BUY THIS ITEM AT YOUR OWN RISK. I purchased the "VanTop V9H Dash Cam Hardwire Kit" and had the camera powered up in under 15 minutes.

viofo 129 is a song by Viofo
3/5

Hello! br>I received a Viofo 129 duo DVR with cable a week ago. br>I visited a special laboratory where recorders are installed. Everything went off without a hitch. br> The car would not start today because the battery had been discharged. Help came after a two-hour wait. The battery had been discharged by the recorder, according to them. Please tell me how you can assist me.
