The camera automatically switches on and starts recording when the engine of my car is started. In some cases the time and date reflect the local time. (I heard that there are some systems with default time in another timezone and the recordings you export will have a difference from the time in the recording. Imagine having to import tapes and the time is off. Bummer. It's comfortable during daylight hours due to the lack of glare. It is also convenient that I can adjust the camera angle easily to fit my seating height with the fine-tuned front camera lens. In spite of the relatively high video quality, it is pretty easy to read the license plate on the front and rear of the car.
