Product Description

The compact, discrete dash cam captures crisp 1440P footage with a wide 140-degree field of view, and Garmin clarity HDR adds detail in low-light situations.
Video of incidents is automatically recorded and saved; an 8GB micro SD card, class-10 or faster (not included) is required.
With Dash Cam auto sync, you can use the Garmin Drive app to control and playback footage from up to four cameras.
Voice control (available in English, French, Italian, Spanish, German, and Swedish) makes it simple to save a video or picture, start or stop audio recording, or activate or deactivate the travel apse video capture feature.
Forward collision, lane departure warnings (certain conditions may impair the warning function), and "go" alerts are all examples of driver alerts that help improve driver awareness.
Location alerts for red light cameras and speed cameras (not available everywhere) can be updated as often as you want.

Questions & Answers

Is it true that if you tell the 66w to save video, it saves video from before you told it to? Can I say "save video and save" if I see a wreck in front of me?

When you press the Save a video button, the device saves the previous video clip, the current recording clip, and the next video clip. Each of these clips will last about one minute, totaling three minutes of video saved around the time of the incident.

Is there a battery in the Garmin dash cam mini?

No, there is no battery in the Garmin Dash Cam Mini. It can only record if it is connected to the vehicle's power cable.

What happens when the SD card is full? Do you have to manually delete content or does it happen automatically?

When the SD card is full, the oldest recordings will be automatically overwritten.

When viewing or exporting a video that has not been saved, there is no audio
3/5

The dash camera is very nice. It appeals to me a great deal. However, when reviewing/exporting video, I'm having issues with the audio. The camera will only play back audio on "saved" (3-minute clips), but not on any other video. Example; Let's say I have a few hours of video on my camera and I find a segment I'd like to export, so I trim it (say, a 5-minute segment from hours of video). There is no audio playing when I watch the trimmed video before exporting. Okay, no problem; I'll just export it and it'll be there, right? Negative in nature. Even though the audio is turned on and "export with audio" is selected, it simply will not play or export audio. It will export audio from the saved clips (3 minutes), but it will not allow you to trim and save video. Only real-time video can be saved. You can review and export it later from the unsaved video if you don't have enough time, but there will be no audio. Aside from that, the camera is quite nice. All I want to do now is figure out how to get this fixed.

Don't waste your money on this nonsense
3/5

Change your mind! This camera's unreliability astounds me. I believed that a Garmin product would be superior. It claims to be able to detect motion, which it may if it is kept powered on. I'd say that over 75% of the time, the camera wasn't even on while driving. I'd have to unplug it and reconnect it. After that, it was a toss-up whether it would power up. I tried a few different 12v to USB sockets and cords, but it still wouldn't turn on, and it wouldn't turn on at all in the last few days. Thankfully, everything happened before my Amazon return deadline, but the app is still choppy and unreliable.

This is a bad product, and you should not buy it

THE WORST PRODUCT IN THE HISTORY OF MANKIND. br>br>The dash cam is a good size, but it gets extremely hot to the touch and stops working after about 10 minutes of use. The car adapter that came with the camera also burned out after only one day of use. On a Sony XA2 running Android 9, the app does not work properly. Be cautious and read more reviews before buying this product. br>br>UPDATING REVIEW AS OF APRIL 27th 2021br>br>Once again, folks, I have been giving this product consistent reviews, and I believe it is beneficial to have a review over time. br>br>A summary: Regardless of the configuration, the product STILL HEATS UP. The camera will eventually shut down due to the extreme heat it produces. Unfortunately, I had to disassemble the camera because it was out of warranty, and I discovered that the MAIN CPU CHIP has a very small heat sink that is attached to the camera's casing. I had to purchase and apply a separate heat conducting paste, as well as make a Frankenstein attachment that goes outside the camera and allows the system to dissipate more heat. Just wanted to let you know that as the camera heats up, the images will become blurry. As a result, the resolution to obtain a license plate is no longer in effect. If I were you, I would buy a very cheap camera, one that costs no more than $60, use it for a year, and then replace it with a new one. br>br>22- Update the product reviewbr>br> 1st of Octoberbr>br>br>br>br>br>br>br> After using the product for several months, I've come to several conclusions: 1. the car adapter was not damaged as originally stated; rather, it became stuck, resulting in a poor mechanical and electrical connection with the car outlet; I had to give it a big push to make a good solid connection; it now works perfectly fine. br>br>2. the car adapter was not damaged as originally stated; rather, it became stuck, resulting in a poor mechanical and electrical connection with the car outlet; I had With the release of the Sony Xperia XA2 Android Version 9, the app was causing issues, but thankfully, Sony released a new software update to fix minor OS flaws, and the Garmin app now works perfectly on the phone. 3. br>br>4. br>br>5. br>br>6. When I first got the camera and installed the application software for the PC, I was able to connect the camera and perform a FIRMWARE upgrade on the camera itself; this upgrade DOES NOT eliminate the over heat issue; however, it appears that the camera runs more efficiently and does not shut down during a long trip; however, the camera does shut down after 1 hour and 45 minutes. Garmin, you've got to be ashamed of yourself
3/5

TLDR: Camera does not function as described, there is no live feed, you cannot view clips on your phone, and the app is frequently unavailable; in short, it is a useless camera that overheats to dangerous levels. Details: br>br> This camera is not yet ready for release; Garmin is aware of all of the issues and is "working to resolve them!" If you want to see the live feed, you'll have to uninstall and reinstall the app every time! It records fine, but you won't be able to see the recordings on your phone because the app won't connect (except for the first time right after installation, after which you can take a picture). It saves a picture and records it- I guess- However, there is no live feed or video review, and the page simply hangs). I updated the firmware to the most recent version, but the problems persist, including extreme overheating after only 5 minutes of operation. To say the least, it's perplexing how Garmin could allow such a defective product to be released; it severely damages their brand and reputation. br>br>For the record, if anyone at Garmin is interested, my phone number is: Note 8. OS: Android Pie is the most recent version of the Android operating system. Camera: Garmin Dash Cam Mini is a miniaturized version of the popular Garmin Dash Cam After the update, the camera's firmware looks like this: Samsung 64GB PRO Endurance SD card.

Dashcam Mini is a fantastic option
5/5

So far, I've only used it a couple of times. The video isn't bad either. Over the next few weeks, I'll add more. If you're worried about people breaking into your car for a dashcam with a LCD screen, this is the dashcam for you. Also, if you're afraid of people breaking into your car and don't want to turn the dash cam on and off. It's so small that you can just stick it on your windshield and plug it in when you get in the car for power. The simplicity of the Garmin app is quite appealing. The quality of the camera is also quite good. If you buy a dashcam and never use it, you're wasting your money. You can put this one on your windshield and forget about it, and you'll never have to worry about someone breaking into your car because of it.
