Questions & Answers
The only question I have is whether or not you removed the plastic protective sheet from the mirror and camera. I'm very pleased with how clear it is at all times of the day and night.
I had a different model that I swapped out for this one. The wire to the rear camera did not need to be rerun. My old wire worked with this camera.
This item was a perfect fit for your visor and performs admirably. When the car is in use, the camera feature is always on, but when it is parked, it is switched to standby mode. If someone or something hits the car hard, or if there is a loud noise, the camera will turn on automatically and begin recording front and rear for a short time, giving you time to figure out what happened and who did it.
Depending on the size of your card and the number of locked files on it, you may need to do the following: Yes, locked files will eventually fill up the memory card. It's not a problem at all - Delete the files that are no longer in use manually.

So, about a year ago, I purchased these mirrors, and they were quite nice. At a fantastic price of $100, you get an integrated front camera and a true 12-inch display. As a result, they became greedy and changed the design while leaving the Amazon images alone! So, no, the front camera is no longer integrated, but rather slides out on a cheap piece of plastic, and the mirror is now shorter. They also increased the cost to $150! WTF! So you sell something great for a lower price and something mediocre for a higher price? Is that East Coast marketing? As a result, they were returned, and we now have another dissatisfied customer as a result of greed!.
CAMS! I got this camera because I didn't like other dashcams that required a large area of your car's dash, and this one doesn't require any difficult setups like sticking something permanent to your front window or using adhesive; instead, all you have to do is slip in an SD card and use the included bands to place the mirror dash cam over your existing rearview mirror. The device is also powered by a plug that comes with the package; all you have to do is tuck the cable into the sides of your car so it isn't visible. Apart from the power cable, which is the most difficult part of the setup, the dashcam takes care of the majority of the software setup and requires little to get up and running. The dashcam has a number of features, including the ability to record automatically when motion is detected and the ability to record from the backup camera if you have one installed in your vehicle. Even if you don't use the backup camera, the dashcam will still work fine and won't require any extra steps if you do. The camera's wide-angle lens is ideal for recording because it captures the majority of what it is pointed at, and it records more than what the screen in the mirror shows. This dashcam has performed admirably, and it's nice to have peace of mind knowing that things that happen around your car are being recorded. I'm very pleased with the product, and it accomplishes its purpose without taking up too much space in your home.
The ability to record both front and back (better view area than the rear view mirror), as well as the different viewing angles. What's not to like:br>It's hard to get used to looking at a video stream for your rear view mirror, and depending on where your second camera is mounted, you won't be able to do that. br>br>What's not to like:br>It's hard to get used to looking at a video stream for your rear view mirror, and I frequently look out my review mirror to look at myself, and you won't be able to do that You also won't be able to adjust your mirror to keep an eye on your children in the back if you have them. br>br>The mirror is a little heavy, and it seems to wear down my mirror over time, requiring it to be repositioned. However, this isn't a product flaw. My mirror was simply not built to support that amount of weight. br>br>Installation instructions were simple to follow, and connecting the reverse camera feature to the guides was also simple. When properly installed, the camera looks fantastic and solves a variety of problems for the right person and situation.
I've been using the DL12 dash cam for a month now and I'm really enjoying it. I have a lifted Dodge Ram truck and wanted a backup camera that records both the front and back. The touch screen is one of my favorite features. Simple to install and connect to a cigarette lighter for power. I'd like to see one that can be wired directly to a power supply that isn't a cigarette lighter in the future. I needed an extender because I ran out of cable to reach my cigarette lighter. It was an excellent solution. I dashed under my floor mat and seat to the back of the car, where the plug was out of the way. I wouldn't have had this issue if I had been driving, but I was also short on the back camera cable. On Amazon, it was simple to buy more. This is an excellent item.
I was no longer blinded by headlights after installing the DL9 in my truck, and I could see what was going on behind me at all times. br>br>When I heard AKASO was releasing the DL12, I knew I had to give it a shot, and I'm glad I did. As a result, they tweaked the original design and ironed out some of the DL9's flaws. br>br>First and foremost, the DL12 is enormous; when I first saw it, I thought there was no way it would fit in my car, but it does, and it looks fantastic. The extra space allows you to see finer details that you wouldn't be able to see on the DL9. The biggest feature I liked about the DL12 is that you can now see both the front and back cameras at the same time. This may not seem like a big deal, but I used to get caught up switching between the screens on the Dl9 to ensure the front camera had the best view possible. The DL12 also got rid of the DL9's goofy camera pop out; the DL9 had the mirror and this camera would pop out the side; I understood why they had to do it, but it still looked odd. The camera is built right into the housing on the DL12 because it's so much longer. br>br>Now for the quality, the rear camera is the same 1080P camera as the DL9, but the dash cam can record video in 2K. During the day, the quality is noticeable, but at night, it outperforms the DL9 in terms of capturing license plates or car details in the event of a hit-and-run. br>br>GPS: Global Positioning System (GPS): Global Positioning System (GPS): Global Positioning So, this dash cam has a GPS module that you can attach to your windshield or anywhere else in your car because it comes with a 6 foot cable. The GPS locks almost instantly, and in less than a minute, I had a lock on eight GPS satellites. It even tells you how accurate the GPS signal is down to feet, which is helpful. So, why do you need GPS in your dash cam? The most important reason is evidence! I've heard of people being pulled over by law enforcement and being accused of speeding when they weren't. With the GPS module, all of your trips are logged with geo data as well as the speed you were traveling at, so if you ever get a speeding ticket you didn't deserve, you'll have the proof you need to fight your case. Now for the drawbacks: br>br> This thing is massive, but I didn't say that was a good thing, did I? It is, but because it is so much larger, it is a little heavier, which in some cases, such as mine, causes the dash cam to sag down my rear view mirror. I had to use double sided tape and zipties to keep the dash cam's cables from sagging down my mirror. br>br>Overall, I'm very pleased with my DL12, and I recommend it to anyone looking for a dash camera.
