How to install a good basic camera on a F-Series 150 2004- 2008 First and foremost, the camera is probably 360p or 240p, so you get a basic image, and yes, the night vision works
4/5

Just make sure your license plate light isn't shining directly into the lens. The only issue I have with this is that when it's foggy outside, the lens fogs up, but all you have to do is wipe the lens clean before getting in your truck. br>br>As well as for use in a F-type vehicle. 150 2004- 2008 So either run your bolt from the license plate through into the camera mount or put in separate bolts for the camera mount, making sure the camera is obviously behind the plate. Then you'll want to ground the black wire to the truck's chassis, which you can do by loosening a bolt and wrapping the exposed wire in electrical tape before tightening it back up. Now for the red wire, you'll want to run it under and up through the left taillight housing, making sure it goes to the left taillight and not the right. You'll now want to remove your headlight assembly, as you should, because you'll need that red wire to reach the wire you require. Now that you've removed the taillight and unplugged the connections, you'll need to look for a specific wire that's black with a pink line running down it, which should be on the bulb's boot/connector. I used a knife to carefully peel away the plastic from around the wire in a small section so that the red wire from the camera connections could be wrapped around it. Put some electrical tape or solder it however you want, then find a way to run that RCA cable (the single yellow plug) into your cabin and connect it to the back of your stereo according to what your stereo says it should go to, and on the same wire you ran into your cabin should be another small wire similar to the one you wrapped around the taillight wire, this wire goes to the designated wire on your stereo that is for a reverse camera, it should tell you which on your stereo. You connect these two wires by wrapping them together or soldering them together, and you're good to go. Before you put everything back together in your dash, make sure the camera is visible on your stereo. It should automatically switch to the camera if you turn the ignition on and put your truck in reverse. I hope this has been of assistance.

It looks like a factory! There aren't any wires in sight! The image quality is outstanding!   Atoto's backup camera has blown me away! The image quality is superior to the factory camera that came with my other vehicles
5/5

If you're handy with cars, the installation is a breeze. Behind the license plate, even the mounting bracket is hidden. The camera mount can be easily adjusted to ensure that the camera is at the proper angle. I used an atoto A6 radio with mine, but the camera should work with any aftermarket radio that has a built-in camera. You cannot go wrong with this camera at this price!.

It's a cinch to use
4/5

I used it in conjunction with my "ATOTO year" receiver, and it produces excellent picture quality at any time of day or night! And, contrary to other reviews, I have had no problems with it disconnecting. My only "gripe" at first was that the stereo receiver has a parking overlay that seemed to work better than the ones on the camera, but you can't turn them off, much to my dismay. However, after a few weeks, I just used the guides that came with the camera, and with a minor adjustment ("pointing it further down toward the bumper"), it works great and saves me a lot of time.

For the price, this is a good backup camera; I'd rate it a 4
5/5

5 stars. The camera mounting appears to be cheap, which is the only reason it isn't a five-star product. I had more cable than I needed and the camera had a great picture. This was installed in a GMC Sonoma extended/three door cab truck from 2002. 6/19/2021 UPDATE: UPDATE: UPDATE: UPDATE: UPDATE After using this backup camera for two weeks, I've decided it's deserving of a five-star rating. The image quality is excellent, and I appreciate the wide angle view; I no longer come dangerously close to backing over my mail box. I had expected the camera to move and require adjustment, but it has not done so.

The life expectancy is two months
3/5

UPDATE: After two months, the camera stopped working. It worked fine for a while, but then it just gave me a black screen. From a five-star rating to a one-star rating. There was also no assistance from Amazon. AN EXAMPLE OF AN EARLIER REVIEW - This camera has a great picture and a wide field of view. My new head unit has a set of adjustable 'guide lines,' and the lines on this camera made it difficult to see the ones that could be adjusted. Maybe I'll figure out how to get the lines on the camera feed to disappear. So far, I'm pleased, but we'll see how it holds up over the next few years on the road.

Garbage
3/5

To begin, I'd like to point out that the cords were far too short for a pickup with a long bed. Second, the image quality is dreadful. By no means is this a high-definition video. br>br>Third, the camera is not at all discrete. Once you've installed it, it'll be very obvious. The mounting bracket, for example, is extremely flimsy. br>br>Fourth, the mounting bracket is very flimsy. It could be broken off at any time by a passer-by. Fifth, there were no instructions for how to put this thing together. I had to turn to YouTube to find out what was going on.

It's far too simple to move about
4/5

This was installed on a 2003 Toyota 4Runner. The Tags are located directly beneath the back hatch handle. The camera hangs from a small metal piece, as you can see. This metal is too soft and easily bent (unintentionally when opening the car's rear hatch). If I had to buy something new, I'd go with something with a screwdriver. on the spot br>br>Even in low-light situations, the video quality is good. The setup was simple, but there were no instructions included in the box. I understand that each car is unique, but it would have been nice to have a description/purpose for each wire. This isn't a problem, though; there are plenty of examples on YouTube. br>br>The quality of the construction is excellent. So, all in all, four stars.
