Upon contacting Eonon support, they were incredibly helpful and resolved the issue for me. My original review is posted below for reference, but I have successfully fixed my issue after installing the relay they sent me. If you are hands-on or willing to do a little legwork on your car, then this product is definitely for you. In order to tuck and route the wiring around the vehicle, I removed the glovebox, interior trim panels, the rear bench seat bottom, trunk lid liner, and trunk handle as well as manipulating some linings and trim edges. As a result, the wiring on my trunk is completely hidden, except for the external connection between trunk and trunk lid. Using the GA9158A head unit, I installed this camera in my 2008 Audi A4 and powered it by splicing into the reversing lights. (Edit The camera was also connected to the battery via a 12V cable. ) Here are some of the good things about the book * With the headlights fully on, the picture is crisp and responsive. When you put the car in reverse, the camera activates in a couple seconds. While I initially worried about the length of the supplied cable, I found it to be perfect and easy to conceal. For the camera to be positioned in a discreet and functional location, I had to do some drilling and routing, and then reseal with Silicone the resulting gap. Originally, I had used the screws that came with the kit, but after struggling to get a good angle and snapping both screws off, I found it greatly easier to simply glue 3M double-sided tape to it A tape with two sides (see image). A screen. The car is generally unusable, however, of course you can turn on the headlights to make it usable again. My suspicion is that there's some kind of voltage issue preventing a stable image with the headlights off, and I am trying to fix it.
There are actually no significant issues with the picture quality. I was unable to read the instructions, but YouTube turned out to be my best friend. I thought it is supposed to be waterproof, but the casing fell apart when I opened it. In order to put it in, I had to glue the pieces back together. It is possible to adjust the angle of the camera, but it does not remain set. Once it tilts down after driving for a while, it gives a nice view of the ground, but not what is behind the vehicle.
You get all of the tech support from someone overseas, and they keep giving you the runaround, and just getting through the language barrier with the oversea tech is today, February 14, 2020, I have not installed it or had it working. I will deal with it as a loss and throw it away and purchase another one from a more reputable supplier.
Thanks to this back up camera you can parallel park easily.
My recommendation would not be to do this. Upon installation, the component begins to fall apart. The picture quality is good during the day, but bad at night.
I think the people who are having problems with it are not having it professionally installed. The mere fact that you own the tool does not mean that you will be able to install it.
Once the temporary connection is made, ensure that the engine is running while the unit is being tested. To the back- It is not possible to use the up camera in Without the installation of additional wires and an auxiliary relay, a head unit can operate on 0 volts. As soon as all extensions and connections are complete, however, a reasonable picture can be obtained and instantaneous responses can be received.
