I am just doing an initial review since I have just configured 4 of these cameras today. Here's what's next It was almost like a perfect day for Prime shipping. Due to the fact that I wanted these cameras to be up and running I kept an eye on the porch all day today even though I was running. I was very surprised to find the order completed with a grainy, low-res picture of a house that looked vaguely familiar, but wasn't mine. As soon as they were retrieved, everything became easier. The packaging was very similar to what you find in iPhone packaging, and the instructions were very clear & easy to follow I followed the instructions and was able to set up three of the four cameras in minutes by following the directions. This one was a bit harder than the other three. In an attempt to add #4 individually, I tried to add it after the mobile app failed to do so. My app knew my network at this point because it was already familiar with it Please fill in the ID and password for the network It was unclear why the password was not working after multiple failed attempts, restarting a handful of times, and even writing it down After I had pressed the factory reset button several times I had to call for support. Alex from the help desk informed me that passwords are garbled when the app is being pre-installed I manually keyed in the network credentials one last time after filling them in, and #4 was finally ready. In the end, it was very simple to choose whether to use the cloud services, name the cameras, and configure their settings. I had no problems figuring anything out. No guesswork involved. The camera is easy to install, has great night vision, and has a wide field of view. The camera in the room has stopped working half the time. Technology has been my hobby since 1982. Although I am not an expert, it is something I enjoy. I'm pretty old, but as far as technology is concerned I am just as good as anyone else. Having used Zmodo since 2016, when my children gave me my first NVR with four cameras, I am quite pleased. The customer service at Zmodo has not improved since it was founded, as is typical for most companies. Initially, the product came with a 3 year warranty (maybe it was 5, but I am not sure), but their products have improved significantly since then. Besides the NVR I purchased for my family and friends in 2016, I have purchased another two. As of now, I have a 32 camera NVR, and these were to be the 15th and 16th cameras Despite being so easy to install, they were actually rather scary to use. By using their new QR recognition, I simply pulled up a screenshot of the QR that was generated when I purchased my last four bullet cameras outdoors and they were ready for use. All I had to do was go to my NVR and add these cameras to it. No costs apply to the recording I receive on a 24/7 basis. If I read 1 star reviews here and they claim that these cameras "do not offer direct IP camera access", I have to wonder, did they post to the wrong product? Another 1 star reviewer states that they were using 24/7 videos and now it is not possible. Are you able to do that, or would you like to do so? Because I have a NVR with 3T of storage and my phone has a limited amount, why would you consider that to be a problem? The Zmodo app is easy to use and uncomplicated, compared to others I have tried. I like it because it is straightforward and straightforward. My only experience with a simpler app is with XMeye, which is the only one I have used so far. In essence, the only reason XMeye is simpler is that you don't need to create an account to use it. Zmodo is definitely the best alternative.
