For what purpose does the cable extend 10 feet? How does it work? Is it connected via Wi-Fi or do I need a landline to setup?

It is used to power the camera with a 10 foot cable. There is no battery power in this. The camera is connected to the Internet by wifi.

There is not an actual power cable at the end of the earbuds, but a usb port instead? If it comes with a regular outlet plug, does the USB cord plug in there as well?

I was initially annoyed by the fact that it received power from the USB port. Nevertheless, I was grateful that I was able to remove the power plug when I went through my eaves and down into my garage to connect the USB cable. There was only a small hole to be made. After this, I simply plugged the USB end back into the power plug once... At first, I was annoyed that I had to plug the USB end into the power cord. When it came time to fish the USB wire through my eaves and into my garage, I was actually pretty grateful I could remove the power cord from the USB cable. The hole only needed to be a few millimeters wide. After I had plugged the USB end back into the power plug in my garage, I simply opened the door and it was done.

If you use an SD card, then using the camera as a security camera isn't a great idea. There is a fee of $66 per year for recording for five cameras for seven days. Do I get a notification when sounds are played? My dog barks frequently and I would like to track about it. How can I do that?

It depends on whether the bark of your dog is high pitched. Currently, there is an alert stating that a baby is crying.
