I was initially annoyed by the fact that it received power from the USB port. Nevertheless, I was grateful that I was able to remove the power plug when I went through my eaves and down into my garage to connect the USB cable. There was only a small hole to be made. After this, I simply plugged the USB end back into the power plug once... At first, I was annoyed that I had to plug the USB end into the power cord. When it came time to fish the USB wire through my eaves and into my garage, I was actually pretty grateful I could remove the power cord from the USB cable. The hole only needed to be a few millimeters wide. After I had plugged the USB end back into the power plug in my garage, I simply opened the door and it was done.
For the person who disagrees with the cloud service, a cloud service allows you to access your recordings even if an intruder steals the camera or SD card. If you use an SD card, then using the camera as a security camera isn't a great idea. There is a fee of $66 per year for recording for five cameras for seven days.
